Characters: Reno, Ganondorf, Shion (closed)
Setting: Music Floor
Format: Prose
Summary: Being sick, Reno goes delirious and seems to think Ganondorf can cure the flu BUT THEN adsfljasdf character death, suicide, Dammit Ganondorf
The guy was getting seriously ill. He was pretty sure this fever was way too high, the headaches and just general achiness made him growl in pain. Coughing, sore throat, other things that required quick trips to the bathroom.
He was going to die. He knew it, and there was nothing he could do about it.Maybe he was being a little dramatic about it but that wasn't good at all. There was only one recourse, one place he could get help in his brain-addled state.
Ganondorf.
Half dressed, Reno hauled himself out of bed and wobbled, dizzy with the effort, but forced himself to steady and then started moving.
Oh, where was that guy anyway... his room... his room? Yeah, that was a good place to check.
Not there. Okay...
Reno dragged himself to the elevator. There were a few other places he could check for Ganondorf, ones the Dark Lord favored, but it would take a while to get there, and Reno wasn't in the best of states. Pushing the door for Floor 21, the doors dinged closed.
From there it was only a few short floors to the music room, but it seemed to take forever being so sick. One foot after another, and then he was there.

And of course, the evil king felt as Reno opened the door and came in. Sorry though, he wouldn't stop playing the music. Actually it may even be getting a bit louder. After all, Ganondorf has no flu.

"Reno?" obviously feigning the surprise "What is it?"

He turned back to the pipe-organ and shook his head. Reno, dying from flu is a bit overdramatic.
"People your age don't die from such diseases, wait a couple days and you'll be better."
no subject
"It's Jason's experiment." That was all he said, as if it was self evident anything to do with Jason meant that of course death was going to be the natural conclusion.
Then he started coughing violently again.
no subject
"Alright, let's say this disease is programmed to kill you, what is absolutely pointless unless Jason secretly works to create the perfect biological weapon, but details."
He turned back to Reno, giving him his most deadpan look.
"This brings me to ask you, what do you expect from me?"

It took a lot of efforts for Ganon not to roll his eyes at reno sinking in the floor and whatnot. No, seriously Reno.
"Do you seriously think I am specializing myself in healing magics? I know the disease affects tour body, but please keep your brain in form."
no subject

Well he knew the basics but he had whatsoever no training in them and he was not about the ridicule himself in front of Reno.
"I have saved some of the most potent medicines from the infirmary before everyone went to it. My shadow will take you to my reserves if you're really in that of a bad shape."
no subject
And this was research too. Alright it was a weak excuse but he had to know what Riku had said...
So now he was just furious and he didn't know if he wanted to kill Reno or Ganondorf more. But they were going to answer his questions.
He didn't even have a weapon this time, he was thinking even less clearly than last time he had done something so stupid, but his head was stuffed with a soft mushy feeling and he had a fever. Thinking clearly was not going to happen.
He was just looking on every floor after finding neither of them in their rooms and when he got to the music room he heard Reno's words, confirming everything he had guessed. Thought the all powerful king would have some sort of cure or something for his faithful lackey, you know?
He stood frozen for a moment, coldness spreading over him. No... This couldn't be... Reno couldn't be...
He couldn't listen to any more, a wordless sound of hurt and rage rushed out of his mouth as he ran into the room. At Ganondorf, because he couldn't believe... Reno couldn't have betrayed them...
But the evidence pointed towards it...
"What did you do?"
no subject
No no no no, this is wrong, it's all messed up. The kid shouldn't have seen anything, he had been careful...
"Shion, wha-"
no subject
"Boy, you're pushing my patience to its limits."
Either the kid had found out, either Reno had been followed. Either way he then directed his stare to the Turk.
"You better have an explanation for that. And a solid one."
no subject
So he didn't stop just leaped at the king of evil, kicking oput, his fist coming towards his face.
no subject
Then Shion started to punch Ganondorf. Wearily, he tried pulling his tired body into standing, raising up his arms in a fighting stance.
"Shion, don't!"
There was really nothing he could do to stop what came next.
no subject
"Pathetic child."
If ever that worked, Ganondorf would start closing his fingers tightly around the neck all while lifting Shion up. At this point, nothing would be more satisfying than to kill him here and now.
"You shall learn your place!"
no subject
"And... you... shall..." He choaked his voice barely audible, "Learn... to... not... hurt..." He kicked out again struggling in the grip, "My... friends."
no subject
Gathering all of his strength, he launched himself at Ganondorf's back, intending on knocking him to the floor, or at least distracting him enough so Shion could escape.
His nerves were on fire and his head swam, but this wasn't-
This wasn't...
no subject
Meanwhile Ganondorf with his free hand would try to grab Reno by the neck as well if necessary-- No mercy for your flu Turk. If all else fails he would throw him down on the ground if necessary.
"What do you think you are doing?!"
no subject
"Let go of him!" Shion rushed at him again, once more his only weapons were his fists.
no subject
"Let... go..." This was the end, wasn't it? Ganondorf was going to lock him away in a crystal and he'd never see anyone again. He'd failed... everyone.
no subject
But then he let Reno free, letting go of him before he could be choked to death. As tempting as to seal Reno away in a crystal was, he had better uses. And killing him now would break the spell... All things considered, the spell may wear off pretty soon. Maybe time to put into action a B Plan.
"Do not do that again and keep watch over the boy."
no subject
Because Reno couldn't be on Ganondorf's side. It just couldn't be...
no subject
It appeared as if Shion was wrong, and he was on Ganondorf's side after all.
no subject
"Excellent."
He chuckled slightly.
"Now Reno, I count on you to make certain Shion never eavesdrop again on secret conversations."
no subject
Shion couldn't believe it, this was Reno. Reno who had taken him in when Shion was completely lost, Reno who had taught him how to fight and taught him the strength he needed to have to survive here. He had given him a sense of belonging, a family which though it would never replace his mum or Nezumi was one of his most precious things.
Had it all been a lie? It couldn't have been... He couldn't have pretended this long, pretended to care about him and Xion...
Xion... She would be heartbroken. Rage filled Shion's heart at the thought that these two men would dare hurt Xion, someone who had already been hurt so much.
"How could you?" His voice was a sob now, "You can't have..." His breath came out ragged and he blinked away tears before screaming almost wordlessly and flinging himself at Reno lashing out with fists and feet.
no subject
The boy was fast enough to topple the Turk off his feet. Grabbing at Shion's wrists, Reno didn't hold back this time like he had in all the times they had trained together. He fought back as hard as he could, kicking out at his stomach.
no subject
And the flu was no excuse.
Depending on what would result of this battle, Ganon would react then.
no subject
He wasn't thinking clearly, he wasn't realising what he was doing but he was fighting, like he had never fought before. Not properly anyways.
no subject
Using powers was out of the question, he didn't want to tear Shion apart...
no subject
When Reno was down his hands came to circle Reno's throat pressing down, his hands shaking yet determined, his mind clouded with grief.
no subject
Sorry, Shion... This is the way it has to be, for now.
Death wasn't something to be afraid of here... and if they both died, Ganondorf wouldn't be able to do anything about it, or to them.
A stray thought went through his head, hoping that Ken, Aya or Ienzo would be in the room when they woke up...
Darkness clouded his vision and he felt that now familiar feeling of death closing in on his body.
no subject
He had killed Reno.
Reno who had given him hope when there was none, gave him purpose, taught him how to fight, been a friend even when Shion was stupid. Who had never once turned him away or given up on him.
He had killed him.
He had betrayed them, yet Shion had killed. Killed a person in cold blood. His hands had ended Reno's life...
He stared at the body not moving, forgetting completely that they hadn't been alone.
no subject
The brainwashing would wear off, but that didn't matter. He knew how to keep Reno silenced... Now was the matter of the boy. That wouldn't be hard at this point. Ganondorf walked slowly to the scene, stopping next to Shion and Reno's body.
"Well... I did not think you had it in you, boy. To kill someone with your bare hands. A friend. No... someone who thought you as a son."
He kept a straight face as he looked at Reno's body and paused before continuing.
"How does it feel to be a murderer? To be a traitor?"
Ironic as in Shion's mind Reno was the traitor. But with Ganondorf's mastery of lies and deception, things weren't always as they looked.
no subject
He had thought of him as a son, Shion hadn't known that... But he stared down at the body, realising the enormity of what he had done. He was a murderer... traitor since Shion had no argument, no defense against Ganondorf's words.
He stared at his hands, he had killed. With those hands. He had killed Reno. His hands looked different, murderers hands. They were calloused from all the training, he had changed so much. He had once had scholars hands. Hands not used to manual labour and though he had once thought this new him was a good change, he now doubted it.
Now he had murderers hands, hands that could kill. Hands that would take the life of Reno... the person who had given him everything even if he had betrayed him...
It didn't change what he had done for Shion. And it didn't change how Shion had repayed him.
Monstrous hands... Shion didn't cry, he just sat in numb silence staring at his hands.

Because mentioning Xion at this point could only help. With that said, Ganondorf finally turned away and walked to the exit door. His shadows then vanished. He nevertheless uttered one more sentence.
"No matter what horrors are committed in this tower, nothing shall be worse than your crime."
It was spoken more as a fact than a suggestion. It's only when he reached the exit that he spoke again before finally leaving Shion alone.
"No matter what misery you witness in this tower, no one shall be sadder than you."
/quietly adds warning for suicide here
Ganondorf had left the room and it had grown silent, yet Shion heard the words over and over again.
Who would he hurt next time. Xion? Elena? His roommates? Someone depending on him in the clinic?
The drones came to take Reno's body away and Shion left the room, moving up a few floors until he came out of the tower. It was cold and there was snow but he thought that would be better to think. He sat in the snow and dangled his legs off the tower.
No one shall be sadder than you. The last words had been almost like a curse.
How could... how could anything be better after this. After what he had done? How could he face anyone. How could he go about life normally. How could he let Xion continue to be friends with him when he had done so much wrong.
His mind was swirling, too many thoughts. He was a murderer... It was not something that could be forgiven. It was not something that should be forgiven.
And though he knew in this place death was not permanent; Reno would come back, it didn't make things better. He had hurt Reno, hurt his body enough to die... You killed more than just his body...
Some things could not be forgiven, and some things were too painful to think about.
So for the second time that day he didn't think, he just did. And in this case doing meant falling. Because somethings were best forgotten, at least for a little while.
