[Christmas Party Log] || [I wish you a Merry Christmas~] || [Open]

Characters: Everyone ever.
Setting: Floor 38- On Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Format: Action or prose, whichever format you prefer.
Summary: CHRISTMAS PARTY! Now that the Jason!Flu is finally over, all the characters can celebrate Christmas in peace (nearly?) and eat some acceptable food that was cooked by the volunteers. The 38th floor is, as usual, the floor where the party happens and has been entirely decorated for Christmas. The Christmas Party will be open for Christmas Eve and the entirety of Christmas. For characters who wouldn't check this floor, the party has been advertised on the network.

As is usual with these party logs, it's free game! Feel free to post a mingle thread for your character as they spend time in the party or an activity (singing, dancing? playing game? gift giving? anything). Add to that, you're free to start as many threads as you want, be they open or closed! Please put in the header your character's name or the activity's name. If a prompt is closed, then please make sure to write it in the header too!

Warning: Fun times?

The lounge on the 38th floor has been entirely decorated with ribbons, tinsels, Christmas balls and many other things- All hand-made of course. The first thing that can probably be noticed upon entering is the majestic Christmas Tree sitting near the entrance, decorated as well and with wrapped boxes at its feet. There are a lot of empty spaces in the room for people to dance if so they wish as well as empty tables to organize games or sit down, in short everything needed to run an activity. Oh, and there is mistletoe hung at the floor's entrances. Nothing bad really.

Most important there is a lot of food in here, placed on a couple tables. Most of that food comes from the tower's restaurant-- Someone must have done a lot of work for the tower these last days. At least here and now you don't have to risk a limb to get some quality food. Aside from the restaurant food there are also cakes, yule logs as well as many cooked meats and fruits.

Last but not least, this floor isn't as cold here as the rest of the tower. There are a total of what appears to be four fireplaces (hand-made as all the other decorations) in the room, one against each of the walls with fires lit within them. Of course these are not exactly normal fires and a lot of resources and energy has been spent to make them so they will last for the entirety of the party- After this they will be unusable, but at least until then they will keep the room at a normal temperature.

Professor Hojo

[personal profile] denigrator 2012-12-24 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, a party is an ideal place to get an idea of what kinds of subjects are being held in the Tower. The population has changed since his first time here.

Hojo is not so much enjoying the festivities as poking around and studying them, though he's dispensed with his lab coat for once. He's dressed in a suit, if not a particularly stylish one.

He does seem more inclined to study the mature females than the males among the assemblage, but how can he be blamed for looking? He's been without female companionship for some time, unfortunately.

(I had to!)

[Of course, Sephiroth didn't necessarily need to look over the crowd to know that Hojo was in there - somewhere.

Not that he had anything to say to him. Last time had been explosive enough, and that was before the riot and epidemic. It seemed an age ago considering. Sephiroth did well to appear as anti-social as he no doubt would be if anyone approached, keeping his back to the crowd and glancing over reflections rather than actually turning around. He's never known such tiredness before - but at least the cells are keeping him going now.]

I'm glad you did!

[Sephiroth was hard to miss in any gathering, even in one with such a range of subjects. He'd always stood out, and that was Hojo's own doing. Unlike Sephiroth, he's still interested in conversing.]

Hello, Sephiroth.

[Upon spying his son, Hojo approached and spoke to him lightly, as if nothing in particular had happened the last time they'd met. It amused him to do so.]

[Conversing had never been one of Sephiroth's strongest traits, no Tower was going to change that. He watched the Professor's reflection with no intention of turning to face him. Not that it was any concern at all of the scientists', but he certainly wouldn't want the interrogation that might come from exhibiting a wound of any sort.]

Hojo.

[If he wanted to act as if their last, heated exchange hadn't happened - so be it.]

Are you enjoying the festivities?

I wouldn't think they would hold much interest for one such as yourself.

They don't.

Call it curiosity if you must.

[personal profile] denigrator 2012-12-26 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, curiosity. That's what drives me as well.

[The similarities between them amuse him, because he imagines they might annoy Sephiroth.]

And have you found anything to satisfy your curiosity?

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2012-12-26 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[There was nothing more annoying than yet another highlight at a similarity of theirs. Though Sephiroth clearly wasn't in the mood to bite like he had before. One might think that he was tired.

He narrowed his eyes a little at Hojo's reflection and turned a little towards him.]

Have you?
denigrator: (And I do it all for free)

[personal profile] denigrator 2013-01-04 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Of course he had the patience and attention for his favorite subject. He noted the difference in Sephiroth's mood but didn't comment on it.]

Now, now, you haven't answered my question yet. A scientist always finds something of interest. His mind is always active. As for satisfaction--does one ever reach it? I wonder. [He gave a small laugh.]
neverbeamemory: (Prettyboy)

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2013-01-04 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Too true Hojo.]

Satisfaction is only temporary, otherwise one becomes obstinate.
denigrator: (Not only does his job)

[personal profile] denigrator 2013-01-04 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
Good, good. I'm glad to hear you say that. One should never stop striving, no matter the result, positive or negative.
neverbeamemory: (Prettyboy)

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2013-01-04 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not in need of any lectures from you.

[Damn, how he hates you Hojo.]
denigrator: (I'm the fly in your soup)

[personal profile] denigrator 2013-01-05 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't think of it as a lecture, then. Think of it as a compliment. You have the makings of a scientist, I think. You have the mind for it.
neverbeamemory: (Portrait)

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2013-01-05 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You almost sound surprised.

[It's not like Sephiroth doesn't know after all. He chooses to disown himself from any biological complications. Jenova mutates at DNA level, after all. She is the only parent he's ever going to need. Or was, rather - if the Planet were really gone.]
denigrator: (Not only does his job)

[personal profile] denigrator 2013-01-05 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I'm not surprised. Though you became a weapon, you've always had an excellent mind, and why shouldn't you? You were meant to be superior in every way. [And clearly, Sephiroth takes after him in some ways.]
neverbeamemory: (Evileyes)

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2013-01-05 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sephiroth scowled at Hojo. He hated how quite blatantly the Professor was claiming credit for all the work Sephiroth had put in to perfecting himself. The Reunion, Meteor, Geostigma - Sephiroth's doing after receiving Mothers gifts. Nothing to do with Hojo.]

Apparently not superior enough.

[That realization still cuts even after a couple of months here in the Tower and Sephiroth is too tired right now to keep it entirely from his expression. Still collared and able to be controlled by the admins of this place.]
denigrator: (Default)

[personal profile] denigrator 2013-01-06 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Without Hojo, Sephiroth would have been nothing. He never would have been born, let alone become a perfect being. Or near perfect. And there's something of Hojo in him, as far as Hojo's concerned.

Hojo doesn't like the confinement either, or the humbling aspect of it, but he's able to ignore it at times, confident in his genius and amused by the idiocy of others. But it depends on his mood.
]

Ah, you're referring to our current situation. It does chafe you, doesn't it? But it hasn't yet resolved itself.

And what will you do about it?
neverbeamemory: (Portrait)

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2013-01-06 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sephiroth just about resisted the temptation to fidget at the violet-tubed collar, it was something of a habit when he thought too much about the issue. Instead, he carefully drew his arms folded over the bandaged part of his chest.]

Don't taunt me, you know well there isn't much to be done about it.
denigrator: (Makes you wriggle and writhe)

[personal profile] denigrator 2013-01-08 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Now, that's not a very scientific mindset. Just because no solution has yet presented itself, that doesn't mean there is none.

[Hojo noted the bandages, but didn't mention them, not yet. Sephiroth might not have tugged at his collar, but Hojo mentioned it nonetheless.]

Our collars are the same color. I wonder if that is significant. Are the colors randomly assigned, or do they have meaning?
neverbeamemory: (Prettyboy)

[personal profile] neverbeamemory 2013-01-08 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sephiroth tactfully ignored the first comment. Why should he even care that Hojo is dissecting him without even needing a scalpel? He's just testing nerves and seeing what responses he can get, given Sephiroth's somewhat wound-up manner the first time they had crossed paths here.]

I heard some pretty unnerving stories about what they can do to people with the same color collars.

[He left it at that, he wasn't going to give Hojo any other information to ponder about in that regard. It was very unnerving, the extent of the control that the admins exerted over them presumably through the collars. Sephiroth blinked back the memory of all his limbs going useless at the touch of a button and tried not to look like he was holding his arms over his chest any tighter. Jason. If Sephiroth ever broke loose of the shackles of this place, he knows where he'd be going first.]
