chilled to the bone 'cause you don't want to go;

Characters: Dark Pit and open
Setting: Floor 6 (forest), floor 48 (graveyard)
Format: Either.
Summary: Pit's disappeared from the tower, leaving a very messed-up copy behind.
Warnings: Dark Pit's much more willing to pick a fight today.

[Floor 6]

[Whatever. This stupid mutated stuff… he could just sit here and snipe at it. Dark Pit sat in a tree, sniping at any animals he saw run past.]

[… He wasn't opposed to sniping anyone else too. He really was not in the mood to be nice today.]

[Floor 48]

[Haa… right. This floor. Dark Pit sat in front of his original's grave, staring for a long time, before punching the headstone.]

Why'd you have to leave, idiot?! I don't want to be… I don't want to be like this!

[He doesn't want to be alone like this. He's not sure how long his own soul can handle the separation. It's terrifying, and… well. It's lonely.]

[He tries to control himself, but he can't help letting out a sob.]

Idiot…
fragileprophet: (Whoa!)

Floor 6 | Sorry I didn't tag this when I said I would! I've been so busy this past week. @n@

[Ion didn't usually hang around the forest floor, but he found himself missing the peaceful sensation of being surrounded by nature. He knew he shouldn't have been there alone...but at least it was the daytime. What was the worst that could happen?

Evidently, an arrow nearly shooting him in the foot.

Startled, Ion staggers a pace backward--his gaze first landing on a small rodent scurrying quickly into the underbrush before he looks up, following the path the arrow had been loosed from. He frowns worriedly at the boy perched high above him.]

I'm sorry...I hope I didn't scare away your game.

[Because surely, he had been hunting. He couldn't have been aiming at Ion...right?]
fragileprophet: (I'm not sure I approve of this...)

[Ion's expression melts from one of apologetic worry to...a still-apologetic form of relief. It was comforting to know, at least, that he hadn't interrupted anything too important.]

I see...that's good to know. Still, I apologize for that. If I had realized anyone else was out here, I would have been more careful.

[He couldn't say that he exactly approved of shooting harmless-looking animals just for the practice of it, but Ion knew of the need for warriors to better themselves. It certainly wasn't his place to criticize.]

Though, I suppose it's my fault for making assumptions.
fragileprophet: (gentle smile)

You're right--oh!

[Ion smiles bashfully; how silly of him not to have introduced himself right away. He almost apologizes once again, then realizes how inappropriate of an apology it would be, and simply extends a hand amicably.]

My name is Ion. And yourself?
fragileprophet: (That's cute. You're cute.)

[Even though Dark Pit is a bit if a strange name, Ion sees no reason to question it. He does, after all, know what it means to take a title and a name from someone else.

His handshake isn't terribly firm, his hands being so small and pale, but he at least shakes it with more enthusiasm than Dark Pit does with his unfamiliarity.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Dark Pit. [For the few months Ion's been in the Tower, he's a bit ashamed of himself for not having made a bigger effort to get to know more of the other residents. So as stock of a phrase it is...the Fon Master really does mean it. His tone is warm and friendly.]
fragileprophet: (you see...)

look at me REPLYING ON TIME FOR ONCE yes I am triumphant 8D

[Ion looks startled at the speed Dark Pit withdraws his hand, but recovers quickly, looking a little bashful.]

I just felt like...exploring somewhere peaceful. [He pauses. That's not entirely accurate.] I guess...I missed being outside.

[Yes, he knew he was truly in the Tower. But at least he could pretend, on floors like these, that he was somewhere beautiful. Somewhere green and full of life. Even back home, going outside and just enjoying the beauty of nature was a rare treat.]

How about you? Besides target practice, I mean.
fragileprophet: (How could you say that?)

[Ion's easy, cheerful demeanor deflates like a punctured balloon at the succinct statement.]

Oh...oh, I see.

[He frowns. He understands, he supposes. More than one of his friends from Auldrant had disappeared since he arrived...but with everything that had happened, he hadn't found any real time to mourn. Or to really think about it at all.

But then, as long as Anise was still here, he couldn't exactly bring himself to feel too terribly torn, even if he wanted to be. Even if it killed him to not feel torn.]

That isn't easy. [His eyes turn downward in sympathy. Ion wonders if maybe he shouldn't have asked--he felt guilty for making Dark Pit have to relive the pain of his loss.] I'm sorry.
fragileprophet: (Still...)

I understand.

[Ion sighs. His situation may be the exact opposite: his original was in the Tower, something that should never have been possible while he, himself, existed. Even if Ion wouldn't have existed at all without the other Ion.]

Having a person who shares your identity, I mean. And how difficult it can often prove to live with.

[Or...without, he supposed, in Dark Pit's case.]
fragileprophet: (well this looks bad)

[personal profile] fragileprophet 2013-07-10 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ion nods in understanding. He was Ion but not Ion at once. His Original had died shortly after his inception, and ergo should never have been able to truly meet or get to know him...and yet, here they were.

It was uncomfortable as well as disorienting.]

Neither do I. [He pauses.] I doubt most of us here, do. But then...I've only been around for a couple months. I know very little about this place.

[Trying to be encouraging, Ion offers as encouraging of a smile as he can manage, given the tense nature of the conversation.]

But...you haven't disappeared. I know it's a small blessing but perhaps, if nothing else, that's something to be thankful for?
