I know.
[He was meant to protect her, he had wanted to, had been determined to make sure that she would have to go through as little as possible, that he would prevent as much as he could, but his intentions and wishes just don't matter at all in the face of his failure. There is absolutely no excuse he can make or that he is planing to make for that matter; excuses are no good and he has never been one for making them anyways. Or one to put blame where it doesn't belong, not anymore.
He doesn't say anymore though and just studies Shion, waiting to see what the other will do... and just hopes that he won't attack him, more for Shion's than for his own sake.]
[ooc: So sorry about the late; I wasn't sure until now if there was any need to retcon this since the barricade thread was still ongoing and it looked for a while like Yu was going to die as well. orz]

Instead he just lets out a cry of rage and throws himself at Riku, luckily he is unarmed, but that doesn't stop him fighting with fists and feet, needing to hurt someone for what had happened to Xion.]
((OOC: No worries! Hope this is alright))

He dodges backwards when Shion comes flying, easily evading the other even as they move into knee-deep waters - he really doesn't want this fight, but as guilty as he feels, he has no intention of letting himself get beat up... at least not by Shion.]

...Trying to fight me isn't going to bring her back.
[Not to mention that he doubts that Xion would ever want that.]

He reappears just as quickly somewhere behind Shion, now back on dry land rather than in the water.]
I don't want to hurt you.
[He really doesn't. But he won't be dodging from now on either.]

This is neither the time nor place to fight me, nor is this a fight you stand any chance to win. Stand down, Shion.
[That will be the last warning he's getting.]

Despite the fact she would be back. It didn't matter. He was beyond standing down.] I can't... [A pained whisper before he threw himself at Riku again]

He goes low again, but this time he is going for a swipe of his leg to trip Shion and send him to the ground a second time. If it works, the moment Shion tries to get back on his feet again, he'll find himself facing the tip of a Keyblade.
Riku has warned him. He is done playing.]

Riku closes his eyes and presses his lips together as he takes a step back to dodge Shion's attack, thinking. There is one more option left to explore before it comes to the worst and Riku really hopes this at least will work as he swings his Keyblade to cast his magic.]
Sleep!
[Never before has he been this glad that Terra has insisted on teaching him status magic.]

It's pointless, all of it is, because right now they are dancing to Ruana's tune and Riku is just so sick of all of it. He's never missed home more than he does now, never longed more for the feeling of sand beneath his shoes and the sound of waves breaking ashore surrounding him this much and this floor can't make up for it either, because non of what's here is real.
He just stands there for a moment, starring down at Shion, for the first time in a long while truly feeling the cracks and fractures the tower has left on him before he exhales sharply, determined to pull himself together.
Focus on the living.
The sleep spell is going to wear off soon, he knows, but while h could just slip away now in that knowledge, he refuses to risk Shion being found by a monster now - however slim that chance may be. Right now there are only bad and worse choices though, because taking Shion into a Dark Corridor is risky too given the current condition of his heart and after a moment Riku just decides to sit down behind Shion and wait for him to stir. The moment he awakens, he will be gone.]
