2nd log ♒ with friends like this
Characters: Sealand, Roy the giant hamster, and open!
Setting: Room 1-20 & Dorm halls/around the tower; cafeteria; poppy field (floor 87) - backdated
Format: Starting with action, but I'll match you.
Summary: Sealand gets his regain in the form of his four foot long hamster friend. And celebrates by showing him off and exploring the tower with him.
Warnings: Massive furry hamster eats and sleeps and sniffs around the tower.
[Dorm Room 1-20 & hallways]
[Sealand hadn't seen his hamster in months, so when he sees the large, twitching nose at the end of his bed at first he thinks he's dreaming. He dreams a lot of home, so that wouldn't be surprising. It's only as his eyes adjust to the dorm room that he realises where he is; he doesn't dream of this place, not unless it's a nightmare.
He sits up, blinking at the figure at the end of his bed.]
...Roy?
[Amazed, he throws the covers off himself and hurries over to the creature, hands moving over its fur. The hamster seems indifferent, though its nose twitches over Sealand's stomach, sniffing him. Sealand giggles.]
How did you get in here? [He strokes Roy behind his ears, grinning as Roy continues to sniff at him.] I missed you!
Okay, I know! You can take me downstairs.
[After changing into his power ranger costume, Sealand clambers onto the hamster's back. It isn't long before they're both in the hall, Sealand hugging Roy around the neck and clinging on tight.
The rodent is as big as a horse, quite wide, and prone to zigzagging from one side of the hall to the other, sniffing anything or anyone that comes into contact with him. But hopefully he won't bump into too many people on their way downstairs.]
[cafeteria]
[They make it to the cafeteria in time for lunch and Roy sits next to Sealand, keeping close as he's occasionally sneaked pieces of tomato with a bowl of water.
It's not exactly hygienic, admittedly, especially as the hamster puts its giant claws onto the table as if to leap on.]
[floor 87; poppy field]
[Sealand hadn't meant to come onto this floor; he knows it's dangerous, especially in this cold weather. But Roy is kind of difficult to steer anywhere, and it's definitely the hamster in charge of this wandering adventure. Sealand has climbed off his back, trying to push him back through the snow and toward the staircase, but it doesn't seem to be having much affect.]
We shouldn't be here, Roy. N-No, c'mon!
[Any shoving is becoming increasingly difficult. Especially as the hamster slinks down and curls into a ball in the snow, eyes closing.]
Roy, no! Y-You're not supposed to sleep now! [Sealand shoves, shivering, but he's becoming more and more tired himself, fighting back a yawn...]

Dorm Room 1
[It's this kid again. Zett stands outside 1-02, not yet bumped into by the ginormous hamster, but it's not a sure thing that he'll be spared.]

Floor 87
Oi! Do you need a hand?
[Somehow the chilled poppy field feels vaguely familiar to her so when she heard someone calling she thoughts they might need help]
no subject
I think... [He gives Roy another heave, but the hamster doesn't move. ] Um. Yes, please.
no subject
You need this thing off, right?
[She flies over to where Sealand is and starts to help him push]
no subject
Try to keep awake! This place makes you really sleepy.

[Power Ranger Sealand and horse-sized hamster team is not something Rusty the cat is okay with facing. Please excuse him as he puffs up and goes in the opposite direction.]
no subject
Then the hamster's off on all four's in the direction of the cat, faster than before, apparently intent on chasing him.]

[The terrified cat flees around the corner, then disappears into the nearest dark place he can find. This happens to be one of the network terminals.]
no subject
Bewildered, Sealand slides off the animal with a frown.]
Hey, what is it? Don't-- [It's then he sees a pair of green eyes under the terminal. He puts out his hand to the cat and tries to push Roy away, not really recognising Rusty at first.]
Kitty? It's okay, Roy won't hurt you, honest. Come on.

Who's your friend?
((SUPER LATE SORRY))

Hi, Amelia! This is my hamster, Roy. I found him in my room this morning!

[England and his magic...]
Cafeteria
[Quark has seen hamsters before! Even on his version Earth, a good amount of different types of rodents managed to survive the nuclear winter. Not that he ever owned one as a pet, mind you. Grandpa never would've allowed for that sort of thing--they didn't have the time to care for a pet, and even if they did, it would be way too expensive.
Still, his expression is, predictably, one of shock. Even if he's seen a hamster before, he's never ever seen one that undeniably huge!]
W-whoa!
[Quark can't help but approach the table, though he keeps a cautious distance, unsure whether or not the animal is actually friendly.]
That looks like a hamster but...that can't really be a hamster, can it? I didn't think they could get that big!
no subject
Of course it is! He's my hamster-- his name's Roy. He appeared in my room this morning!
[For his part, Roy is more interested in Sealand's food than the boy standing nearby, storing anything he's offered in his giant cheeks.
Sealand seems to notice Quark's uncertainty though.]
It's okay, you can come over and stroke him if you want! He's really friendly!
no subject
[Quark can only look more and more amazed. When Sealand assures that it would be safe to pet Roy, he's quick in coming closer and running his hand against its fur. His nervousness fades into childish glee.]
Whoa! He...he's so soft!
no subject
[Sealand grins, joining Quark in stroking the hamster. Roy seems to enjoy it, relaxing a little.]
I know! He's really fun to ride too.
