Summary: Willow has way more free time than she's used to, especially without school to be a perfectionist over. She finds herself watching a lot of movies. Feel free to make multi-character threads and join existing ones, by the way!

[At the moment Willow is watching Zombieland, a movie right up her alley but from several years past her time, so she'd never had a chance to see it before. She's sitting on a couch across from the TV, hand in a bowl of chips and giggling periodically.

On the screen, there's a college-aged boy with poofy, curly hair running hurriedly away from a zombie co-ed with a broken ankle.] You just can't trust anyone, [says the narration.] The first girl I let into my life and she tries to eat me.

[Goddess, does that remind her of Xander. For once it's a happy reminder, though, and she practically chokes on some chips laughing at it. Him and that preying mantis teacher...

Follow the sounds of giggling and come interrupt her?]

[And all of a sudden, there's a John literally running into the room. He heard the opening narration and couldn't resist.]

ZOMBIELAND! I love that movie!!

...Oh, hi Willow.

--John, hi! [She's twisting up over the couch arm to talk to him directly, grinning.] You've seen this before? It's 2003 when I'm from, so this hadn't come out yet.

[Aradia hears the giggling and can't resist the chance to catch up with her roomie. She walks in, taking a seat nearby]

What're you watching?

Yeah! It's so funny, Willow, you'll love it.

[He jumps clean over the couch (hello windy powers), and then flops into the empty seat next to her. He's still grinning widely.]

Something called Zombieland. I think it's supposed to be a comedic parody of the zombie genre-- it just started a few minutes ago.

[She nestles the chip bowl between them on the couch, scooting over closer to Aradia to include her.]

I am already, [she admits, giving him an amused, tolerant look at the showing off.]

It reminds me of this friend of mine that got seduced by one of our teachers, but she turned out to be a preying mantis demon in disguise and tried to eat him.

Zombies...?

[As she glances at the screen]

Oh! The shambling undead. Sounds interesting.

[She makes herself more comfortable, taking some of the chips]

So, how have you been?

Right, the shambling undead.

[At her question, Willow starts, as if the very topic had been on her mind. She answers a little shlyly.] Oh, um, I've been good. Eridan and I got things sorted.

Preston blinked, was that laughter? And the sound of a TV? Curious now, he approached the room and peeked his head inside.

"A-ah, is this a movie?"

[guiltapalooza]

"Sure is!" Willow gets on her knees on the couch to look over the back rest at him, offering a friendly smile.

"Hi."

[uprisings]

[This is not a room he generally goes to! Movies and technology in general are just not really his thing. But that bit of narration and the giggle that follows make him... wtf hard enough to wander on in, peering curiously at the human running around like that]

[...forgetting to actually greet Willow whoops]

in which Vivi pretends she remembers what happens in Zombieland

[On screen, the boy has been chased into the bathroom of his apartment, and is getting into an awkward physical fight with the zombie involving a shower curtain. He fumbles through the cabinet under the sink and comes up with some kind of cleaning supply.]

The eyes, the eyes! [she encourages, not noticing the Summoner yet and leaning forward in her seat eagerly.] Go for the-- yessss!

[Columbus, who is the boy in the movie in question, had in fact doused the zombie's eyes with cleaning fluid. He made it out of the bathroom and shut the door behind him.]

He returned her smile with his own, small one. "Er, hey. Do you mind if I watch it too?" He just had to ask, because he hasn't been able to see a movie in so long~!

[...well then. This is... sort of disconcerting. It's not new of course. Seeing people get a kick out of random violence and distress is kind of a staple of being a troll. But seeing a human get into is... odd... Fucks with his perception of them as a species once again]

[Still, he's interested. Kind of fascinated actually by what is apparently a human zombie on the screen there. This human kid must be a giant idiot if he let one into his house though wow]

He won't last long. [Mused out loud as he waits for the zombie to break out of the bathroom and fuck this kid up]

[And suddenly the movie is drowned out temporarily by a giddy squeal as Aradia claps her hands excitedly]

Oh you did? Willow, that's wonderful!

this is the only bit of zombieland I've ever seen sob...

[Taiki heard the giggling and spotted Willow on the coach, he skipped over to go see her glancing at the TV to see what she was watching. He stopped in his tracks though, staring at the screen in horror as an older girl approached her little sister with a gun because her little sister was about to turn into a monster.

Obviously he couldn't smell any blood, which was strange for him even if expected and he stood transfixed, terrified but unable to look away as it was revealed to be a hoax. Blinking he looked over to Willow not quite understanding why she was watching something like this but not wanting to judge.]

[Yeah, movie is totally getting ignored for the moment. There is gossiping to be had.

Willow blushes faintly, but she has a pleased smile.] It is wonderful, isn't it? And I think I'm actually... adjusting. It's not as scary as I thought it would be.

[What movie? Roomie gossip is totally way more important]

I'm so glad! I think so long as you both work at it, things will be okay. And I happen to know you both want to, which is a start.

You happen to-- how do you know? Did you talk to him?

[Suddenly eager, leaning in close for the deets.] Spill, tell me everything.

[Oops, guess keeping secrets is a thing she's not so good at]

I don't think I should say. I just know that he's very earnest about doing things properly which I think is wonderful especially considering what my world's Eridan's approach would be.

[guiltapalooza]

[Willow's awful at it herself, but the rules of girl gossip are strict and tacitly understood.] Okay, I won't press. [But she is slightly gleeful to hear that.]

He is pretty cute about it, isn't he? [She giggles a little.] I think he's really new at this. And man, I only talked to your Eridan once, but I've heard so much about him since that I feel like I've experienced his jerkitude first hand way more times than that.

[She giggles in response] Yeah, he's not so good at considering the other person in these things. I much prefer the Eridan here, even if I have to remind him now and again that it's okay to talk to me and I'm not going to..whatever he thinks his Empress would do.

Still, they're pretty similar in some ways too.

You as Empress is a little hard to picture for me, I have to admit. [She grins, meaning it as a compliment, of course.] Scary, intimidating and political just doesn't seem your bag.

--Oh, really? How are they similar?

[She looks very much not offended] I find it pretty hard to picture myself, if I'm honest. Not that scary and intimidating is the only way but I'd sooner leave that sort of thing for those who were born to it.

[And here she starts giggling again]

Mostly in who they choose to pursue as kismesis. You know the Sollux from Eridan's world is his kismesis, right? Well my Eridan tried to get the same thing with my Sollux.

Oh hey, it's you! [She twists in place to smile directly at him, the smile turning beaming when she sees that he, remarkably enough, isn't injured.]
