Exploring! The maze! [open]

Characters: Romeo, Molly, Tavros ?, Anyone else who wants to get lost in the maze! Or is in the maze already. The more the merrier!
Setting: Meeting at the steps about to go up to the maze
Format: anything you like!
Summary: Meeting to explore the next floor together, probably getting helplessly lost and scared. Hopefully they will emerge safely!
Warnings: not at the moment, probably fear based stuff, will keep updating

Romeo sat on the steps bouncing in excitment. He was waiting for Molly because they had agreed to go up to the next floor together! They were going to see what was up there, the other floors that had mysteriously appeared (Romeo had no idea how they had been built over night, he suspected magic) all had been really strange but fun and he was hoping the next floor wasn't boring.

He was wearing his superhero costume again, because you never knew when people might need rescued and exploring new places was a very heroish thing to do. He loooked around again wondering where Molly had got to.

The Doctor had been wandering around the Tower for some time now, investigating and doing his Doctor thing, when something caught his eye.

A child.

"Well, hello there! That is quite the costume you've got on. Very cool. Very heroic. I like it. Are you a superhero?"

Romeo jumped a little as the adult approached him, but most adults here were friendly and he smiled when the man complimented his costume. "Hello sir! Yes I'm a superhero!" He bit his lip, because pretending was all when and good but he knew he shouldn't lie, especially not to adults.

"Well I'm a pretend superhero, my friend Molly is a real superhero and a princess! But she said I could be a superhero prince when we played!"

The Doctor gasped.

"Pretend superheroes are just as good as the real thing. In fact, sometimes they're better. Of course, I may be a bit biased because I love playing pretend. I play pretend every single day, you know. I pretend and I pretend and I pretend until -- " The Doctor paused for dramatic effect.

"Until it becomes real."

Romeo found himself listening very carefuly to the mans words and at the end he grinned, his eyes wide. "Really? Is that a magic power you've got? Can you really make things be real just by pretending they are?" It sounded like a wonderful power to have!

"Well, anyone can do that really. If you believe enough. Of course, sometimes I help the process along a bit, yeah. I'm afraid I don't have any magic powers, though."

The Doctor smiled, but on the inside, his mind was buzzing. A child was here. A normal child. A child that was easily distingiushable as such. Someone was going to be in trouble for this.

"What's your name, Superboy?"

"But that doesn't work! Things can't be real just by pretending they are! In your head when you close your eyes they might be but when you open them again they are just pretend!" His smile was still there though, he liked this strange man.

"Superboys a funny name! My superhero name is the Bird Prince! But my real name is Romeo! What's yours?"

"You have to pretend really really hard. It's quite difficult to do."

The Doctor clapped his hands,

"Romeo the Bird Prince! Excellent name! Brilliant name! Cool name.

It's very nice to meet you, Romeo." He grinned, this was his favorite part.

"I am the Doctor!"

"Oh!" Romeo smiled, he would have to practice, maybe he could pretend them all back home and they would go there and not be here anymore.

He laughed happily, this man was very strange but he was nice as well and Romeo liked him. "The Doctor? Are you a real doctor? Do you save lots of people? I like doctors, they are nice! It's nice to meet you too The Doctor!"

"Just the Doctor. Nothing more, nothing less."

The Doctor paused to think for a moment.

"I'm not exactly a convential doctor. The medical thing is more Rory's bit, mind you. 'Course's quite nice. Amy likes him. It's a shame he's got that nose on him, really. Perfect couple otherwisee. I do have a habit of saving people every so often, though."

Every day. Every hour. Every minute. Saving people was kind of his thing.

Well, that and being daft.

"That's what I said mister The Doctor, did I say it wrong?" He smiled and nodded, he didn't understand what the doctor was saying but thought that the people he named must have been his friends, "What does convential mean sir? Who are Rory and Amy are they your friends?"

His smile slipped for a moment, "Did they get saved to? Or was it just you?" Because sometimes peoples friends got saved, but others were all alone. He was glad this doctor saved people though, that meant he was a good person.

"No, you said it exactly right. And conventional means typical or expected or normal I'm not a normal doctor. I'm the Doctor.

Rory and Amy are my friends, and they're not here, but I know they're safe. I would never, ever let anything happen to them. I promised Amy I'd be there for her, after all."

"Oh, so you're a special doctor? The special doctor?" Romeo grinned but then his smile faded, had this doctor not got the note? Even though some people like Kanaya didn't believe that the world had ended Romeo didn't know how why else they would be here.

"But the world ended mister The Doctor, all the worlds not just one, but I hope your friends really are safe! Maybe they will come here later?"

"Romeo, tell me. Do you remember important things that have happened to you? Meeting your first friend? Celebrating a birthday? Losing someone important? 'Course you do. Everyone remembers these things, and a little bit more. random bits, mind you. Eating a bug. Falling into a puddle.

But, you see, I remember even more. I remember everything. I never forget. Never ever. I don't remember the world or worlds ending, so it didn't happen. Someone's pretending it did and I'm going to make sure they stop and that it doesn't become real. My friends are safe and probably wondering where I am right now. I'm not going to keep them waiting long."

Romeo nodded at the question, he remembered lots of things, and again he found himself hanging onto the Doctor's words. Because even though the Doctor was an adult Romeo found he trusted him and believed him because he sounded so sure that the worlds hadn't ended and that he was going to stop whoever was pretending they had.

"So if you stop them, we can all go home? Really!"

"That's the plan, yeah. And I am working on it. You haven't seen a big, blue box 'round have you?"

Romeo grinned, "I can help you! It's always easier to do things when you work together!" He thought for a moment, but he hadn't seen any boxes, "It wasn't in your trunk was it?"

"No, the TARDIS is a tad too big to fit in the trunk. She's a good bit taller than me, square, pretty large. Says "police box" on her. Got a door that says "pull to open" even though I always push."

"TARDIS?" Romeo tilted his head, "I haven't seen anything like that before, but I haven't been up there," he waved his hand up the stairs he was sat on, "I'm waiting for Molly and then we are going to investigate, you can come with us if you like, your box might be there!"

Hello child with a cat costume this was very relevant to her interests.

"What'cha doooiiinnn?" Nepeta asked, pretty much out of nowhere suddenly right next to the boy. She was a skilled huntress, after all. Stalking was her utmost specialty.

Romeo turned round at the voice and grinned when he saw it was a girl who looked about his age even if she did have horns and a tale, "Hello! I'm waiting for my friend Molly, we're going on an adventure!"

And it was nice to talk to someone her own age, even though he didn't have horns and was a silly pink color.

"What kind of adventure?" She perks up a little at this, grinning a cat like grin. She loved adventuring! She and her guardian Pounce used to go on long adventures together to find the fountain of cute. Nepeta was always in for an adventure!

"An awesome superhero adventure! We're going up there," Romeo pointed up the stairs, "I don't know what's up there because it only appeared today like the swimming pool and the forest and the spyglasses but I promised Molly I'd wait for her and we could explore. Do you want to come too?"

"Oohh! I'd love to come!" She bounced a little in excitement, peering up at the stairs. "Who knows what could be up there! I bet it's something fun and exciting!"

If there was one thing that Ienzo was good at, it was being quiet. And this isn't just being quiet by disposition (though he is quiet by disposition, so much); he is actually fairly knowledgeable in the art of sneaking around without being sound or heard. This is partly from his mysterious mental endeavor to be as completely unnoticeable as possible -- 'seemingly not even present at all' would be the goal here -- and partly from spending most of his time in libraries of some kind.

In any case, he was a very sneaky little kid. And today, he was using his sneakiness to ninja around the Tower without being seen by anyone he didn't want to. There had been new levels of the tower put in, apparently, and Ienzo had wanted to at least make a rudimentary map of the place, so adventuring the higher levels was his goal today.

Except the stairs were blocked.

By a boy.

"...Excuse me," he mumbled, slipping out from a shadowy corner of the room. "...Could you... move aside...?"

[Molly comes running towards him, in her superhero outfit of course, and almost ends up running Romeo over]

I'm here!! Let's go! What are you waiting for!!

[with that, she enters the maze]
