001 | ❝Do you seek the truth?❞
Characters: Yu and... you.
Setting: Dorm Room 2-04 → everywhere
Format: I'll adjust to your preference.
Summary: One protagonist awakens, confused and left to his thoughts before seeking the truth.
Warnings: None currently, aside from true ending spoilers.
Awakening wasn't a strange ordeal for him. After all, he normally did end up falling asleep after staring at the passing scenery. What wasn't in the realm of ordinary happenings? Not being able to move at all, and suddenly waking up on a bed that was certainly not his own. It would be a lie if he wasn't freaked out slightly, yet he paused... tried to reflect on how he could have gotten from the train and to this location, yet it was all a blank.
Soon the paralysis wore off and he began to sit up, taking in the sights around him. ...A dorm room? He had just been on the train back to the city, right? Yu sighed, looking to see if there was any sign of where he is now. The first things he noticed other than the cool metal around his neck (a collar?) is the letter...
One that he automatically placed down after reading the first sentence. Destroyed? How could that be? Hadn't they stopped Namatame from unknowingly doing what the true killer had to kill those two last year? Hadn't they caught Adachi and faced not just Ameno-Sagiri, but the one who had been behind the events that transpired? There were so many questions going through his mind, and none of them were going to be answered by staying here.
After opening the trunk at the foot of his bed, Yu set out to search for answers... and any familiar faces that may be here as well.

Such as the blue haired boy, sitting on a chair with his headphones on. Noticing Yu, he blinked and looked over at him with his blue eyes.
no subject
Yu looks up, nodding faintly. ...Can he hear him? "What is this place?"
no subject
"...You're in one of the dorms at the tower."
no subject
"... partner?"
life hates me; sorry. orz
Ah, but where are his manners? "...I'm Yu Narukami." He pauses, glancing down at the note again. It would be a lie if he said he didn't dislike unaddressed letters at this point.

Sure enough, when Yu looked over to where he heard the voice, there was the familiar face of his best friend. There was no way he could mistake it either- not after everything they'd gone through together. Thus, he changed his mind on which direction he'd be heading, no words to describe the relief of seeing one of those he trusts the most after reading the letter, nor the worry or curiosity as to what was really going on...
Guess some things never changed.

"Please tell me you at least just got here. If you've been living down the hall for a week and I never noticed, I'm going to feel like a major jerk."

She did look around when she heard someone else inside the room, though seeing as it looked like they were just looking around, she turned back to her meal, frowning in frustration down at the sling her dominant arm was usually in.
no subject
"Yeah. Not even an hour ago, actually," he admitted, which meant his worry for the rest of the team, his family and his friends came first. "Are any of the others-?"

"I'm Minato Arisato." He introduced himself, after getting the other boy's name. Yu Narukami.
He notice the glances and his gaze went down to the note.
no subject
"I... yes. I'm fine." Sort of. He wasn't injured anyways, nothing had tried to kill him today. Yet, anyways.
/patted orz
Yu had read some of the letter, just glancing through it and... not really wanting to stomach any part of what he just read. He spares a nod, grip on the note tightening. He'd left his friends behind, having defeated the threat to not just their lives, but their entire world, and now this-?
"...Is it true, about our worlds-?" Because he's praying that it's a lie, that he hadn't failed them.
no subject
"I don't know. That's what they told us about, but I haven't seen the state of my world for myself."
no subject
Sighing when he was given the oatmeal instead, he accepted it with a nod of thanks and decided to look for somewhere to sit down. The first place he happens to notice is the same table as a young girl who seemed to have injured her arm. Maybe it was the spark within him, or maybe it was just empathy at first, but he decided to walk over with his own bland meal. "...Mind if I join you?"
no subject
"... and there's someone else from home, too."
no subject
She shook her head, "It's fine."
She also glanced over at his meal, and seeing the oatmeal, realized. "You just got here?"
She remembered her own first meal very well.
no subject
No. Until there were more facts and actual proof of what is written here on the paper in his hands, he will not allow himself to be diluted by a rumor. Never again. He owes them all this much.
"Then I can't believe this just yet," he mutters, folding the letter closed and placing it down again. He can't dwell on it, not when he has to learn the truth - however painful it may be. That, and- "Is there any way I can find out if my friends are here?"
He shouldn't have left them behind... Shouldn't have, even though he had a promise to keep at the time.
no subject
"...Who is it." Calmly and slowly, Yosuke; that was generally the better way of saying news such as this before, right? Maybe it would still work this time, or it could backfire. Either way, wasn't it their goal to seek the truth back then?
no subject
"You can use the computer to leave a message or recording on the network system." It's not as convenient as the tablets back in the Underworld. The computers here cannot be moved out of their rooms. "If your friends are here, they can see it on their computers."
no subject
"Well, I was walking around the other day, and I ran into Izanami."
no subject
"Couldn't make it easier and just offer a phone with the letter, could they." Maybe it was a poor, deadpan attempt at humor... but right now it was all he could attempt. He wanted to go out and physically search for them however, to see them in person after having had to leave them in the thoughts that it was all over and they would be fine without him. Had his departure doomed them to this-?
No. He wouldn't think like that now when the possibilities are endless. Looking to Minato once more, he seems almost hopeful behind guarding himself. A friend had once told him of how dangerous 'driving blindly' could be, after all. "Is there anything else I should know?"
no subject
Somehow, he felt closer to the god for whom his persona was named or possibly was.
no subject
So truly, it was a welcomed distraction for the time being.
"Yeah," he replied, poking at the oatmeal with the...spoon. He was beginning to miss chopsticks so much. "I'm Yu Narukami."
Odd name; he knew.

"Have you both been alright?" That's the first concern he has to express, but the second: "...She hasn't tried anything, has she?" It's times like this that he wonders just how much his uncle rubbed off on him.
no subject
"Actually, she didn't try anything at all. This might sound a little weird, but if anything I think she was almost... disappointed? And saying it aloud didn't make it seem any less crazy, crap."
no subject
Minato pause, just to let that sink in, before continuing. "There's another 'me' around in the Tower. He normally don't wear my red armband."
no subject
"...Alright." He must still be in shock from killing a god, or so it seemed.
no subject
"He's different but...don't mistake us."
