Characters: Legolas Greenleaf ([personal profile] keeps_count) and OPEN
Setting: Room 3-02, Cafeteria, meadow floor, anywhere else you wanna bump into him
Format: Starting with prose, both formats are good though
Summary: A blonde elf wakes up in a tower with word that Middle Earth is gone. A persistent search for his (still living) friends ensues.
Warnings: Potential for violence due to mistaken identity?

Room 3-02

The lack of ability to move, feeling like he couldn't breathe, Legolas had to fight not to jump to his feet and search for a threat when he finally regained his ability to move. His breathing remained even when he got to his feet, blue eyes carefully roaming around the room. The note went largely unnoticed for the time being while he went to investigate the trunk.

He was glad to find his clothes in there, his bow and a quiver full of arrows. Legolas didn't really waste much time in changing, tugging lightly at the collar and adjusting his clothes to fit more comfortably around it before slinging the quiver over his shoulder and sheathing his twin knives beneath the quiver. And finally he placed a sheathed Rohirric sword around his waist and a white knife. All equipment he had with him a century ago when he joined the Fellowship of the Ring, to assist Frodo.

That was so long ago. What was he going to do about Gimli? He had been taking him to the Undying Lands with him. They would have been reunited with Gandalf and Frodo, Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel.

The elf sat on his bed and sighed a bit. Then spotted the letter. And the elf read it, carefully because it had been many years since he'd read anything in the tongue of Man. And then he read it again before crumpling it. Middle Earth was gone? Did that mean Gimli was gone as well? The old Dwarf never having a chance to see the Undying Lands?

Legolas had the foresight to bring along a chunk of Lembas bread with his when he entered the cafeteria and was handed the bowl of oatmeal. He'd had worse food, he was sure, but that was a long time ago. He'd happily enjoyed the food of his people, and of the dwarves for a century now.

He was at least mature enough not to poke at his food or make disgusted faces at it. Legolas ate it in silence and them ate some Lembas bread to get the taste from his mouth.

Floor 25/Meadow

Legolas sat cross legged, relaxing in the middle of the meadow. His weapons are set on the ground beside him, as if they disturb the bit of peace this place offers. It's not the same though. He wanted to be near the sea now. He even starts to quote something.

"Legolas Greenleaf, long under tree,
In joy thou hast lived. Beware of the Sea!
If thou hearest the cry of the gull on the shore,
Thy heart shall then rest in the forest no more."

Anywhere else

The tower residents may find a blonde young man, barely looking more than twenty years of age, and with pointy ears wandering around. He's very heavily armed but walking casually, with only his bow in hand.

Oh, and he has pointy ears.

[Hylian hearing being what it is, Zelda can't help perking up a bit at the sound of someone speaking on the meadow floor. Normally, she might ignore it, leaving whoever it was to their conversation, but... this doesn't sound like social speaking. No, it almost sounds like a song, or a poem of some sort.

Well, it's enough to make her curious, in any case.

So Legolas may or may not hear a young woman quietly approaching, keeping a respectful distance once she stumbles upon him. Seeing his pointed ears, however, makes her eyes widen, and, well, she certainly can't go without asking about them.]

... Pardon me.

[He... almost looks Hylian, but at the same time, there's something off...]
sageprincess: (Cordial curiosity)

Ah, no, it is not that I need assistance, really. I was merely wondering...

[Um. Oh gosh, how to put this politely. There's a slight pause as she bites the inside of her lip, swallowing her nerves.]

Pardon me for my presumptuousness, but... you are not Hylian, by chance, are you?

[A look of surprise enters her eyes as realization dawns. So, this man... is one of the people Gandalf spoke of? Oh, her interest is caught hook, line, and sinker, though she manages to keep the questions she has to herself for the moment.]

No, I am afraid I have never heard the name Galadriel before, and I have only recently learned of your kind in general - admittedly due to being mistaken as one of yours.

[She smiles, lightly, politely, a hand over her heart in a gesture to herself.]

But I am Hylian, hailing from a land called Hyrule.
sageprincess: (Princess of Destiny)

Likewise, had I not been told of them, I would have assumed you were Hylian without a second thought.

[Zelda, on the other hand, doesn't. Which is probably why she's so interested. To think, another race somewhere incredibly similar to and yet completely separate from Hylians...]

And you would not be the first to have no knowledge of my homeland, nor do I believe you will be the last. That is simply the nature of this place.

[Good luck to you, Legolas. Zelda merely offers the smallest of shrugs. She's never heard of any 'Middle Earth', so they're even, really.

But, yes, introductions. She bows her head slightly in greeting.]

And it is a pleasure to meet you, Legolas. I am Zelda, Princess of Hyrule.
sageprincess: (Spaces between)

[personal profile] sageprincess 2012-04-14 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, still not used to being bowed to, though his smile helps her remain relaxed. When she speaks again, it is with just a hint of childish wonderment.]

... Forgive me, but ever since I was told of your people, I have been curious. Would... you mind telling me about them?

[Her own smile goes a bit sheepish in return. Because, well...]

To be honest, I do not know where to begin. Gandalf only told me so much before our conversation was... sidetracked, for lack of a better word.

He did seem quite pleased to see me before he knew I was not one of your people.

[And then he was pleased again when he found out she was the Bearer of Wisdom and yadda yadda yadda. Dammit Fi.]

That sounds just fine. Thank you, for indulging me.
sageprincess: (Pleasant relaxation)

[She listens intently, piecing together this information with what she already knows. Gandalf already said they were nigh-immortal, so the thousand-years-older comment is odd, but not surprising. That said.]

How fascinating... You appear Hylian, and yet it sounds as though you share just as much in common with the Kokiri of my world. They live safely within their sacred forest, presumably crafting all they need from the woods themselves.

[She tilts her head, then, curiously.]

What are 'Ents', if I may ask?
sageprincess: (Staunchest allies)

[personal profile] sageprincess 2012-04-28 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
I would be happy to tell you what I know, but I am afraid the Kokiri are a rather secretive race. If you ever see a boy in a green hat and tunic, then there is a good chance he will be able to tell you more.

['Good' being about 50%, since, you know, timeline shenanigans.]

But... walking, talking trees? That is something I can say with certainty that we do not have in Hyrule.

[Aside from maybe the Great Deku Tree, but he was dead during the majority of her seven year flight.]
sageprincess: (Heavenly lights)

[personal profile] sageprincess 2012-04-28 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
His name is Link, should you find him. I am certain he would be more than happy to tell you about the Kokiri - he was raised among them, after all.

[Legolas, you will be there for hours. Just sayin'.]

I would imagine that they would be. The mere thought is awe-inspiring in and of itself.
