Characters: AU!Sora, Master Xehanort and Aqua
Setting: Two of them; the lake floor, and then the meadow
Format: Starting in action, I'll switch to match you guys.
Summary: Sora's nightmares have hit a rather sore spot, and now Sora is seeking comfort. It just may not always be positive.
Warnings: Talk of abandonment issues!
The Lake:
[The lake had been a source of comfort for a long while, but after his recent nightmare, he has no idea why he's here because it leaves him shaking. He stares out over the water, taking deep breaths to try and keep himself calm. However, it seems he's failing...]
The Meadow:
[The meadow is much better. Here, he's curled up, lying on his side in the flowers, trying to almost disappear in them. Maybe, maybe, if he stays here long enough, he'll become a flower himself. And then he won't have to worry about feeling things like this.]

He rounds the lake slowly, taking his time, counting his steps out of habit but not out of necessity. He dislikes sleep, as it is a waste of time, but sometimes his body is all too old and those needs rise to the fore... and rather than dreamless it's been more than unsettling. It reminds him that he has too much to do and too little time to do it in. And so now he ponders his options, trying to build up his once-impressive repertoire of paths to take to get to his end goal.
He's not expecting to see the boy, but there he is all the same, a ways down the shoreline. Since their last meeting he hasn't expected much contact, but all the same he wants more information. This may be an opportunity worth taking... and so he continues his path, heading towards Sora.]

Before he gets too close, he decides to make his presence known so that the boy doesn't feel snuck upon and threatened.]
What troubles you, my boy?

...Just a bad dream.

Dreams simply exist in the mind. Fabrications, and nothing more. They cannot harm you any more than any other thought you have...
[He hides his own frown though. He doesn't want to connect his dreams to Sora's. Perhaps it is a coincidence and little more. To disguise his unease, though, he decides to press on.]
Do you wish to speak about it? It may help alleviate your mind.

[Sora doesn't speak at first. He feels too open, too vulnerable. So he sits down and curls in on himself, hugging his knees to his chest. An unconscious effort to hid his vulnerability.]
...I was little, on the beach back on the islands. And no matter how much I cried or called out, no one paid attention to me. It's like I wasn't even there.

Typical of light bearers. No concern for anything other than "protecting" from darkness.]
Your mind speaks to you of a deep-seated sorrow or loneliness, perhaps... something it misses or lacks, hence why there is no one there to see or hear.

...Is it that obvious?

[or at least twisted into perceived to being found.]

[It's all too easy to open up to Xehanort despite Riku's warnings. Xehanort is Dad, after all. What's wrong with opening up to your dad?]</small.

Someone will always want you or need you. We are all precious to someone, in some way.
AND THEN XEHANORT ACTUALLY ACCIDENTALLY HELPED?
...Really?

Of course. We all have our place, our role, those to whom we mean something. Sometimes it's difficult, often it's unpleasant, but it's who we are and how we will leave our mark upon our broken world.
[He stares out over the lake now.]
We seek out those who mean something to us subconsciously. [After a moment, he spreads his arms in thought.] Perhaps that's why you're here. Perhaps that's why I'm here.
Sobbing
...Thanks. I... Think I feel better now.

It eases my heart to know that I was of assistance to you, my boy. I can only hope it is a small step on the road to righting the wrongs done to you.
