He studied Kuja, trying to imagine what he might be thinking. He didn't know. He felt a lot of different things when he looked at him: angry, and afraid, and sad--but also hopeful. Because wasn't Kuja standing here talking to him rationally, possibly working with him? Maybe it was a start.
"I don't exactly have a plan yet." Honestly, he didn't. He'd rushed down into the Iifa Tree, and then, once he'd woken up in the Tower, he'd gone looking for Kuja--or Dagger, or any of his friends. "You know, stick together, watch each other's backs. Figure out what's going on around here and what we can do about it."
