The situation that they met again in was a terrible one but not one that they couldn't turn to their favor. That was what they had done during the War of the Ring, after all.

He was eager to talk, to tell Aragorn of the tower and warn him of the dangers. All but one, which he'd let Gandalf explain later. The Elf could wait though, allow the king to get used to the tower and see if he had stomached his first meal yet.
