No Chance to Take It Back
Characters: Fawkes and anyone else
Setting: Dorms or Hallways
Format: Starting prose will match if action is preferred.
Summary: Fawkes wakes up, Fawkes wanders the hall and hits his head on things.
Warnings: Mild swearing, senseless-yet-accidental bed frame destruction.
Dorms:
During that brief period of sleep paralysis - which Fawkes had no idea what it was - there was a creaking, groaning sound that eventually gave way into a crash as the frame of Fawkes' bed broke.
Not that he could completely fit on the thing anyway, given his size.
--
Hallways:
Fawkes was out and about, to a degree - he'd managed to read the letter, and promptly disregarded it. He knew the world had been blown to a wasteland already. Someone saw fit to 'rescue' him from it, though this left him rather annoyed. He was in the middle of helping out his friend recover something important to them! He had no time for this place. Besides, it was dark here, and he'd hit his head on the wall above the doorway.
On the plus side, it was nice to have clothes that fit, even if it was a weird suit.

Dorms - You knew this was coming bro
Of course, the lad's theories went crashing to the ground
lol get it huh huh huhwhen Fawkes' bed clattered to the ground, the kid scrambling away and huddling against the corner of the room, covering his head."Wh-who's there?! I'm not, I'm not afraid of you...!" It was all fake it was all fake it was all fake...!
no subject
"Uhh... Ugh. Hn?" There was a small voice yelling at him about not being scared. "I cannot see you, but I mean no harm!" Fawkes' voice is loud and boisterous, and is nowhere near what a sane person would use for an indoor voice. He gets to his feet, accidentally standing in front of one of the backup lights, giving him a rather large and intimidating silhouette.
no subject
"Y-you're a liar! Where did you take me?!"
Ohgeez he got kidnapped by a monster and, and he was alone and-
"The Professah i-isn't gonna let you get away with this...!!"
no subject
Still frustrating, though.
"Little human person, I didn't take you anywhere! I'm not even sure where 'here' is. I just know it's dark."
(cee do not look here)
After shuddering behind the furniture some more, Luke peered over the bed, suspiciously eyeing the shape. Well, if this was some sort of ploy like before...
Luke dove over the bed, making some slight 'raah~' noise as he tried to grapple on to Fawkes, grabbing at his skin and arms to try and...pull it off?
"Now take off that costume! I know it's you, Don Paolo!!"
no subject
Fawkes raises his arm up - and in the process, Luke, if he does not release, and gets a somewhat better look at the boy. This also allows Luke to see Fawkes' rather terrifying face better.
"This is no costume, and I do not know a Don Paolo. My name is Fawkes!"
no subject
Somehow, his hat stayed perfectly proper on his head.
no subject
"...are you okay, little human-person?" Totally ignoring that the kid had just kind of screamed in horror at him. After all, Fawkes had no reason to be mean to him. He's just a kid, after all.
no subject
Luke's confusion was obviously an understatement at this point. The kid turned around, sitting and watching the hulking monsterman with a wary eye.
"So, you're...really not Don Paolo, and you don't know what's going on...?"
no subject
Fawkes nods. "As I said, my name is Fawkes, and I am...quite confused, to say the least. I don't suppose you've seen a bunch of bigger humans in power armor, have you?"
no subject
His puzzled expression persisted until he stood up, going over to roughly where Fawkes' bed was and feeling about, grabbing the mutie's letters and handing them to him. His hands might have been shaking a tiny bit.
"This might explain things better than I can..."
no subject
The letters are taken, though it takes Fawkes several minutes to read them - between the low light, the small paper, and his large hands, reading is tricky.
"...I know my world was destroyed. It's been that way for centuries. Why take me away now? We were on the verge of making some things better!"
no subject
Luke waited patiently for the other to read the letters, shifting awkwardly when Fawkes finally spoke up again.
"But, the world wasn't destroyed...! We saved London!" He seemed to sulk for a moment, then crossed his arms, thinking hard. "This is all very puzzling. Who would set up such a trick...?"
no subject
Then he gave the boy a quizzical and critical look. He was rather... clean. "Did the Great War not hit London?"
no subject
This is all quite troubling.
"I was about to move, I imagine we would not have if there was a war going on."
no subject
A pause.
"Though I suppose that depends on who launched the nukes in the first place."
no subject
This is very eerie, and not exactly Luke's expertise.
"What's a nuke?"
no subject
"A nuclear warhead - a very destructive projectile."
no subject
mostly because who the fuck knows when Laytonverse takes place in, and takes a deep breath. Must be calm. Must be a gentleman."...so, you come from the future?" This is amazingly uncomfortable. Forever.

Luke gave his eyes a weary rub, but that was all otherwise.
no subject
"...I realize, I do not know your name, little human! Who are you?"
no subject
Luke ruffled his hat, looking a bit awkward. "I'm sorry I reacted so extremely earlier, sir."
Dorms
That's not something you see every day. If he had one of his swords on-hand and not in his trunk, his first reaction would be to bring one up carefully, but given that he didn't...have a scrawny blonde 13 year old kid just. Staring.
Words are failing him.
"...and you would be?"
Smooth.

"...aren't you a bit young to be in the Brotherhood?" After all, it's dark enough that this could feasibly be part of the Citadel's underground area...
no subject
"Haven't heard of it." Well, okay, he's heard of a lot of organizations commonly referred to with that name in fiction. But in terms of actual things, not so much.

A pause. "What part of the capital are we in?"
