Format: Whichever the responder choses!
Summary: Sayaka and Jin are on a mission, and that mission involves the one thing they both share a common knowledge on; the Internet. Replies will be coming from both beknightedheroine and morituramfides.
Warnings: nerds nerds nerds stupid teenagers nerds Jin and Sayaka existing.

Anyone who paid attention when entering the Library now would find Jin and Sayaka seated next to each other at a relatively isolated computer terminal. Sayaka was seated in front of it more properly, clicking down the page and writing notes. Jin had pulled up a chair next to her, and had his own laptop open on his lap as he typed some notes of his own and read over her shoulder. A bunch of papers were also scattered on the table in front of tem (though a few had also made their ways to the floor), along with a few pencils and pens (and in Sayaka's case, her handy dandy highlighter).

The two had taken on a mission; comb the network, and try and get as much information out of it as they could, combining it with their experience and information that they already knew, and try and solve the mystery of Tower Wonderfuck.

They weren't exactly being quiet in their tasks, so there were plenty of random comments and minor debates as they tried to logic some things out before scribbling some notes. From the looks of it, they'd already been at it for a while. At the least, they'd stayed up through the night.

"..that thing about taking a picture of the keyboard is still bugging me. D'you think it'd get reactions if I posted it up on the network anon? Anon posts usually get a lot of answers."

Hey, guess who's making idle chatter as she continues to scroll through the Eternal Wall of Network Posts? Yeah, that's Sayaka.

He dareth.

The library was one of Sollux's favorite haunts, for basically the same reason as Jin and Sayaka -- information. Information about the Tower, and about the other worlds that people had inhabited before coming here. Sure, he could act high and mighty about the superior Alternian civilization when he was actually talking to them, but afterwards? He wanted to know everything.

He noticed the two of them immediately upon passing the terminals. Huddled over one computer, clattering away at a laptop or filling pages with notes; it was enough to make anyone suspicious, and Sollux was a very suspicious troll. So as quietly as he could, he walked up behind them, wearing his best imposing lineface. In his experience, even when one didn't need to look threatening and in-control for any particular reason, it never hurt.

"What are you two doing?"

Romeo liked the library as well, though he didn't really use it for finding out information about the tower. When he saw Sayaka and Jin he grinned and skipped over to them. "Hello Sayaka," she got a warm smile, "Hello mister Jin," a much warier smile for him. "What are you doing?"

When Romeo skips into the peripheral of her vision, Sayaka drops her muttered line of thought, though, trailing off in her notes mid-word in order to focus on their company. "Yo, Romeo!"

..shoot. Romeo is the most earnest kid she knows, and Sayaka also knows she doesn't want news spread around that they're trawling all the old network until they're done. He's a hopeful kid, and he might latch on to what they're doing as a building block for that hope--

She's not against it, but she also likes the complacency all those old network posts are currently left in.

"Just writing down some stuff from the network, in case it goes down again." That's not fully a lie. "Some of this is pretty useful to keep around. Like that guide going around."

Lucifer had come to the library out of sheer boredom. For a bit he had entertained the idea of traversing the floors where the monsters dwelt but had chosen against it. There was no joy, or challenge, to be had in slaughtering the simple creatures that roamed the floors. While he had no hope that his boredom would be alleviated through much else Lucifer decided to try. It was a reason at the least to explore his cage a bit more, to try and learn more of it and become more familiar with it.

He had been looking through the books in the library rather boredly when he caught sight of Jin and Sayaka. Considering all he's seen from the others here it's nice to see someone attempting investigation, or at least that's what he assumed the two of them are doing. Lucifer put away the book he had been looking through away to come over to them.

"Have you found something worth investigating?"

Jin didn't normally like chatter while he was working, but anything to focus his thoughts away from his own brain was helpful enough. Initially he'd been annoyed with it, but that certainly wasn't going to stop Sayaka from talking.

"It's worth a shot; though I don't know if the video camera in the computers can take pictures. I'm not sure I trust anything from these guys to not change the perception of the keyboard once it's uploaded, but we'll definitely get some reactions if there's some strange, anonymous picture of a keyboard."

...OK he was kind of talking robot-y again, but that was mostly a consequence of concentrating and multi-tasking on actual productive stuff.

"Research," Jin responded simply enough without looking up from his laptop. He knew Sayaka didn't want to entirely spill the beans on what they were doing (he himself didn't really care), so it was just noncommittal enough to work!

...Yeah he seemed pretty content with ignoring Sollux and scribbling down some notes on a piece of paper. Goddamnit more trolls--

Jin didn't even notice Romeo at first until he handed out his greetings. While Sayaka explained, he simply stared silently, over the top of his glasses. They last time he had talked to the kid was in the pods and-- yeah he still hasn't gotten over the desire to vomit whenever he saw certain people. But he was doing his best to not look sick right now.

Eventually he apparently is just fine with ignoring Romeo, and scribbles down a few more notes, opting to answer Sayaka's mumbling instead of actually greeting the kid. "Some people from one world show up in spades, and others get no one at all. I'd chock it up to coincidence."

"Maybe," He said simply, apparently intently focused on whatever he was reading on the screen in front of him.

Aaaand that seemed about as much information/attention he was willing to pay Lucifer at the moment. Best not to actually look at him or else he risk throwing up again, so he'd have to rely on Sayaka to get anything beyond that.

"Research!" Sayaka affirms, making a couple this is important circles around whatever she'd last recorded. With an astoundingly bright blue highlighter.

"We're still figuring things out. Um. It'll be a while. There's a whole lot of network."

Play it cool, Sayaka--

"Nothing worth talking about yet!"

and then she made the fact that she doesn't want news of this out really obvious, whoops

Sollux glanced over at the terminal screen. It was on a page that even he could identify as the Network. Sollux had done some back-reading himself, but hadn't gone to the length of taking notes -- still, it was pretty easy to figure out what they were writing about. "Trying to glean some insight from the other saps stuck here too?"

"That's the plan," Said both nonchalantly and a bit dismissively.

"Getting organized on some front is our best bet for figuring something out right now. Sure can't rely on the libraries at least."

See, can Jin explain this time, she's busy ~finding things~.

"--Ahah."

Sayaka opens a post in particular, and quickly opens the attached file.

"Least we're not the first people to think notes are a good idea. Looks like someone tried to cliffnotes that cute little Q&A way back."

Sayaka is somewhat restrained due to being distracted by the walls and walls of text compared to her usual, but hey, she's an excitable poor student type. What he gets in the circumstances is amazing out of her.

"10 yen says someone gets freaked out by it."

yeah because the last bet went so well A pittance of a bet over something that's pretty much a sure thing. She mostly said it to bite down her own near chill at the robotic timbre that'd sneaked into Jin's voice - no screw you Jason you're not going to make her shrink just because of the way someone's talking.

"We could be the next internet creepypasta sensation."

OK see it wasn't so bad, because even though he said it distractedly while writing something down, he did joke about it! That was good!

And thankfully it also meant it was too distracted to notice her acting weird about it.

Romeo's wary look got harder but he tried to keep his spirits up and listen to what Sayaka was saying. "That's a good idea! Do you need any help?" He shot another look at Jin. "I can read really fast now!"

"Yeah." Well, that answers one question already -- the library will not help with anything related to the tower or how to get out. He can stop spending all of his free time hunting for answers in there, at least. He folds his arms, reading the post from over Sayaka's shoulder. "Q&A session?" That was news to him, but if they were holding things like that on at least a semi-regular basis, then it meant that these owners either had a good PR team (which they didn't), were telling the truth and trying to calm down the public (which they weren't), or trying to pull the wool farther over the people's eyes by making them look like they were getting answers.

Dirty bastards.

"Considerate, but the information is still going through a third party. Neither of you were at this Q&A session to confirm, were you?"

"We both were" Jin looked up from whatever he was doing to join Sollux in looking over Sayaka's shoulder, but it also gave him enough opportunity to side-eye Sollux as well.

"It was hosted over the Network, so even if we weren't, we'd be able to look back and look at what happened. 'Course that doesn't stop Jason from being an unhelpful, passive-aggressive asshole."

"Like the five zillion million trolls throughout tower history, gotcha."

She shakes her head at Romeo's suggestion. "We got this. Besides, you've got, uh--"

Sayaka quickly checks the front page of the network to affirm what she's about to say.

"--a meeting to set up, right?"

"I don't think anything could stop him from being an asshole. Not rain, nor sudden clearing off all the fog around the tower, or weird blizzards - nothin'."

Scroll scroll scroll. She never realized the network was THIS active.

"..Looks like the arrivals from, uh - that facility? With the clones? I think the first guy to mention it was Hei. I might be wrong, but the surge of people from there seemed to start with that."

Look at how much she is not letting you impede the research process, Sollux. Do you feel like part of the team?

Jokes, jokes are good. Jokes are the ever-marching sign of progress, comrade.

"For months to come, people will re-post the ~mysterious keyboard screenshot~ to each other, having heated debates over what it means."

..the retroactively makes her a little paranoid about red flags planted in the past, but considering the average level of internet literacy in the tower.... maybe she doesn't have to think about that.

Oh he dares to approach because Jin interacting with anyone that isn't his team is pretty suspicious...at least he's not attempting to hide himself and walks over in plain view. Not too hard to figure out what they are doing.

"Found anything interesting yet?"

Shinjiro's appearance is enough to tear Jin's eyes away from the laptop screen or the papers on the desk, even if it's to deliver a not-subtle-at-all glare.

"If we did, it's none of your business."

Whoooops sorry Sayaka this might get awkward, because Jin does not look or sound happy to see the guy at all. If he wanted to see this asshole he would actually hang out in his own room.

"Is it a sign from the administrators? Maybe it's some kind of signal from a civilization beyond the tower, alerting us to rescue. Or maybe it'll just forever remain an urban legend..."

He even has the time to look up from his paper to fake dull amazement and affect a mysterious and interested tone in his voice. OK so his emotional expression has actually been dialed back now, but still. Progress!
