She answered his statement before his question with a quiet, "Right." It was true; there was no way he could have gone forever without finding out... unless he'd never managed to wake up. That alternative did not bear discussing.

As for his question, "...Let's just say... that the reason I know what I do is something that has caused-- a lot of trouble, and hurt a lot of people." The shame on her face was obvious and she knew it, so she bowed her head and hoped to hide that expression from his view.
