Sparring Amongst Friends
Characters: Haldir of Lothlórien & Majima Goro
Setting: A wrecked abandoned room somewhere on the upper levels of the tower.
Time: Evening
Format: Prose
Summary: In hopes of easing the rage that quells within him, the march warden does battle with an unlikely friend.
Warnings: PG-13
A fury of punches nearly welcomed themselves upside Haldir's skull hadn't the elf nimbly dodged the incoming strike. The march warden couldn't believe how speedy Majima was, almost wondering if the mortal was cheating somehow. Nevertheless, Haldir met with Majima's fierce strikes with punches of his own. He danced around the man quickly, doing his best to keep his distance from the slightly taller fellow. If he couldn't match Majima's speed, then he'll simply have to out think him. For the most part, the two of them were quite even in both skill and strength. The only difference was their speed with Majima being the faster of the two. While Haldir is hardly slow, the elf's true skill didn't lie with unarmed combat. Give him a bow and arrow; and Majima wouldn't live to blink. However, this mild handicap was much enjoyed by Haldir judging by the smug smirk that danced upon his lips.
The elf had to pivot himself upon his right foot when Majima lunged at him again, taking great glee into seeing the yakuza's frustrated glower. Despite him being the faster of the two, Majima certainly seemed to be having trouble catching the elf. "Come now." Haldir teased with a wide smirk. "You cannot be thinking of giving up so soon." Knowing that his teasing may spark Majima's fighting spirit, Haldir couldn't help but wonder why the gangster insisted in fighting him bare chested. The elf refused to take off his tunic but Majima seemed to prefer fighting with no shirt.
Is this some sort of odd tradition amongst mortal men? Haldir does not know.
