Alucard feared what Haldir might say, what the elf might feel in response to his confession. In the dhampir's mind it was easier to leave with no reply, than to stay and hear words he was not prepared to cope with.
That said, Alucard did not pull away, he stood still as Haldir clung to the cuff of his sleeve. Alucard's free hand rose and he pressed his fingers and thumb down on the bridge of his nose, as if doing so would relieve the pressure in his head. "I don't know why I said what I said..." he added absentmindedly.
