Those Words I'll Never Say and the Lies I'll Always Tell

Characters: Ishtar and Duzell (Closed)
Setting: October 15th, 2012 | Floor 2, Room 02-13
Format: Prose
Summary: After the Shadow Event, there's a huge discussion that needed to happen, because there's no hiding anything from Duzell.
Warnings: angst, tl;dr, and will add more if it gets more intense

Ishtar lowered herself to the bed. She was already anticipating this day the moment that event was over. The Shadow had spoke too much. She told them all way too much, and person that was mostly was no other than Duzell. She knew he wasn't kidding when he told her they had things to talk about and she had a lot of explaining to do. Ishtar knew that better than anyone else. She hid a lot of things, things that she couldn't quite talk about freely. Ishtar tugged the strangely tacky costume that she found herself in not too long ago.

Her hair was up completely, in a nice ponytail, but the short garment was anything but comfortable for the princess, and the fish nets definitely didn't give her any leverage either. On top of that the loose clothing had the tendency to go up and was tight in the wrong places. She had tried to rip the terrible thing off but it didn't seem like her efforts were helpful at all.

At least, he somewhat put her mind at easy by mentioning that there was no difference who she was and that he didn't give two shits about her being a clone. The heavy burden lifted a little, but of course she still thought about it, like where she stood now. What was her place in this world? She lived a lie after all, and the only way she coped with it mostly was keeping herself busy and not thinking about it. The loss of people she cared about seemed to be endless. She was worried that it would happen here as well.

The princess folded her hands as she looked at the door. Somehow, it felt rather intimidating, waiting for someone to come and waiting for him to demand answers. There was no use lying to Duzell. He would see right through her. Even though, she felt that they had been apart for so long, they still had the small understanding of each other. She supposed it wasn't too bad to know that the real thing wasn't going to reject her existence. He was the vampire king, and she knew exactly how easily he could discard her.

She always wanted to ask him why he hadn't got rid of her yet and why he still hung around. He didn't need to. He had all his powers, and all his abilities. A silly human girl wasn't going to do much for him. At least, not right now. She guessed it might have been the conversation she discussed with Gaara. She didn't know if she could fully believe it still. She also had questions for him, words that would probably leak out once they started this conversation. So, she closed her eyes and waited. This was going to be a long day. She could feel it.

It was always a long day when you had to tell the truth.

A small bat in a pink bunny suit flew into her room and slapped the door shut with its wing. The vampire spent a lot more time in bat form these days, being unable to change clothes and all. This goddamn hideous costume was a real pain in the ass. Human girls would shriek and squeal and try to run over to catch him. He didn’t want to fucking play with any humans. Not like that, anyway.

He made sure no one else was in the room, then changed back to his vampire self. He didn’t know how, but the costume changed size too, getting big enough to fit him. It was the first thing he tried to do to get rid of it, by turning into something smaller. Those people were clever little bastards, weren’t they?

He ignored the staring from Ishtar and sat next to her on the bed. Costume or not, they were going to have a serious talk. He had given her time to get over the shadow thing, and he’d just about run out of patience. He didn’t forget any of the things it said to him. By the way Ishtar acted around it, maybe the thing had been telling the truth after all.

Duzell leaned over, staring right down at the princess. He had no regard whatsoever for her personal space. If she was bothered by something he did, she could get up and move away or push him back.

“Stop running around with your human friends so much,” he started off with that gripe, “You look like hell.”
