Characters: Koromaru and you, good sirs and madams!
Setting: All around the tower, starting in room 3-04.
Format: Starting in prose, but I'll match your preference.
Summary: Puppy did not have a good few weeks in the tower. Why all his friends either not here or acting strangely? :(
Warnings: Possible omg cute while everything else goes to hell ~~pfffffffffffffffft~~.

The last three weeks have been very confusing for the humans he's seen, and even more so for the canine that awakened in a strange room with three strange people he didn't know. Though, they did seem to be okay... and running into Chie-san wasn't too bad, either!

But... where were his friends?

He couldn't really put his own collar on by himself (we do not count the one he awoke with, it doesn't do the same thing), so he carried it in his mouth for a while, unless someone was kind enough to put it on him. Really, he looked kind of down about it as he began searching every floor for any sign of them being alright.

Probably didn't help that the last thing he saw was one of his closest friends flying up to the moon on his own as they cried out for him...

Nanako let out a faint noise, tilting her head curiously at the dog. After a moment, she knelt down beside him, looking at that collar curiously. Hunh... she wondered what that was?

"Is that your dog collar?"

He barked twice. Well, it was and yet it wasn't? It's Complicated and hard to explain when you understand Human but can't speak it. Thus he simply sat down in front of her. See? He wasn't going to hurt her; in fact, he seemed a little concerned and friendly!

Why you seem so sad, little one? :(

The metal clearly read "Koromaru" in Japanese, at least... though it was likely translated to whatever the reader was familiar with, anyway.

Hesitantly she shuffled over to him, peering at the collar in his mouth.

"Ko...romaru...?" she asked. "Do you want this on?"

Koromaru nodded, waving a paw in the air. Please help?

Wow, it was almost like he could understand her. What a smart dog; Nanako reached up, patting his head gently, before taking the collar from his mouth. Now... how to get this open, and... there! Stretching, she reached around the dog, slipping the collar on and arranging it so the cute little angel wings were aligned perfectly before snapping it back together.

"There!"

Aw, he's flattered. Not many would even think that he could understand them, so an 'almost' was at least better than 'nope, just a stupid mutt.' He still did not get why he had little cherub wings on the collar, but it did kind of match Cerberus... so not like he could complain.

...Okay, he couldn't really complain either way due to the language barrier on one end.

"Awoo!" Aw, he even licked her cheek.

Nanako giggled at that, reaching up to scratch the cute dog behind his ears. Wow, he was so adorable!

"Where are you from, Koro-chan?" she asked.

See? Nothing scary about the big white dog at all! He barked once, though he had a feeling she wouldn't understand it. Not many people did, even though 'Iwatodai' would likely have some meaning for her.

He just wish Aigis-chan was there to help him speak with everyone.

No, she didn't understand him, and she actually looked a bit upset by that, but she didn't dwell on it. Nanako did have to wonder where his master was though... assuming his master was in the Tower too? Hmm...

"Do you want to look for your master together, Koro-chan?"

Hey, no bitty should be upset! So long as she stuck to yes or no questions, he could likely answer with one or two barks until someone who could act as a translator came along!

Until then, he lowered his head at the mention of his master and whined. He seemed a lot different when he was sad, ears drooping as he seemed to hold a small moment of silence. Master had been gone for a long time, and even though he could never come back, even though everything was rewritten the moment his first Dark Hour experience ended, he hadn't left the shrine or stopped treading down the same path they'd always gone...

It hurt a little to know he wouldn't be able to do that, but he had promised to help protect others as long as he had this collar.

Master would not be found, but maybe that strange place with all the paintings would help convey the answer she couldn't understand with the language barrier.

She may not understand Koromaru, but she understood that posture and whimper. After a moment, she reached around and wrapped her arms around him tightly, holding the poor puppy.

"...I understand," she murmured softly, ruffling his fur gently.

That earned her a nuzzle. Had she lost someone, too...?

Because no one should know that pain when they were so young. He whined, looking up at her. He was alright, really; he'd come to terms with it and moved on. Maybe that was why he had another howling in his head.

It's was kind of funny, really; if she knew the details, she would probably really relate to this fluffy puppy. After a moment, she pulled away, feeling a little better herself after that.

"Don't worry, Koro-chan. I'll take care of you," she declared. Granted she... had no idea how to take care of a dog, but he seemed really smart. He'd be able to let her know if he needed anything, right?

Funny how fate does those kinds of things. The puppy managed a faint doggy smile, barking once. Of course! And he would make sure she was alright if no one else was around to guard her. This place was scary, and no human pup was allowed to be left in danger while he was around!
