Summary: Another new arrival to the Tower! Meiling is trying to find a way to figure out what happened..and to block out those letters.

[Dorm 02-15]

Slowly, very slowly Meiling wakes up to the sight of a....room? That startled her into a sitting position. This is not where she was supposed to be nor where she was when she started her nap! She quickly swung her legs over the side of the bed and thought in this, letting the letters fall to the floor.

"Huh?"

She leans down and picks the letters off the floor, opening one and looking very confused on the contents, as she was reading the one that was meant to be read AFTER the other one. Seeing as the first one made no sense, she opened the second one and her face falls. Gensokyo gone?

After reading that she sits there, just staring at the letter. The idea of Gensokyo being gone had her both confused and left in a disbelieving trance.

[Cafeteria]

After that letter and finding her normal clothing to change into, Meiling sat in a corner of the Cafeteria, eyes closed as she tried to think this all over. Everyone she knows and cares about gone...? She would not believe it! Beside her is a bowl of oatmeal that has not been touched at all as she is too busy thinking on what this all could mean, trying hard to find a reason to deny that her home for so long is now gone.

[Well whoop de doo walking in the cafeteria like normal

[Oh. Oh God. It's really her. Meiling. Meiling is here. Meiling is in this awful, godforsaken place.

Remilia hasn't seen her in so long. In months, since she was terminated back at the Facility.]

M...ei...

[But she didn't have any scars. Last time she checked, Meiling had burn scars worse than hers, even.

Maybe this wasn't the same one. Did she remember nothing?

Even if she didn't, she was here. She was here. Remilia doesn't know whether to be elated or horrified.

So there she stands, in all of her burnt and scarred glory.]

Meiling...

[Yeah, there was actually half decent food this month. Pumpkin everything was getting a bit annoying but at least it was edible. BUt yeah, this month!

And oh boy, a bowl of oatmeal. Yep, that person was definitely new. He flopped down in a seat across from Meiling and pointed at her bowl.]

Better eat that or you'll be puking up anything you stuff down your trap.

Are you not going to eat that?

[ Because she understands the feeling. About arriving in the tower, thinking that her planet was destroyed and the only thing you can eat is oatmeal. ]

[Sometime during the moments when Meiling is reading the letter, a tan-skinned brunette walks in, hair damp and a swimsuit slung over her shoulder. She stops dead in her tracks, staring at the redhead.]

... They replaced her already?

[She knew that voice, but why? Why was her voice here? It takes a moment but one eye opens, a happy smile overtaking her face. The other eye follows quickly at the sight that greets her and a shocked look takes over.

Meiling takes in the sight of Remilia with those burns and it's almost as if she's stuck. When did all of that happen? She would have known about it...Right? She slowly sits up, trying to regain her voice that seemed to have escaped at the shock.]

Mi....Mistress Remilia.....W-what happened to you?

Hmm?

[One eye opens and looks at him. She follows his finger with her eyes and frowns a bit. The contents of the bowl get a look before she looks back to him.]

Why's that? Looks like normal oatmeal to me.

[She sits up more, leaning against the table a bit.

There's probably some kind of medicine in there that makes it so you can eat the food here. I just know that you have to eat it all.

[Axel didn't test that out, that was for sure.]

[Ah. Well, that confirmed her fears. But at the same time, in the same vein as John, it was okay with her. It was better that she didn't remember all of the awful things, didn't have any of the painful injuries.]

...it's a long story.

You're gonna have to eat that eventually.

[A tall man dressed in a casual suit leans over her table.]

Maybe...Not sure.

[Meiling opens her eyes and pokes at the bowl for a moment. Her expression is slightly distant and sad. She's starting to think the letters might be telling the truth. She lets out a sigh.]

Probably not...Too much to figure out to worry about eating.

[Her head snaps up at the sound of a voice she didn't know. Her eyes turn hard and she looks ready to fight for a moment before relaxing a bit. There was no point if the letter was true.

Although that question bugged her.]

Replaced..?

Why's that? Will it make me see what is the truth around here?

[She's joking but at the same time serious. She's opening her eyes to see who she is speaking with and offering up a questioning look.]

[Aoi takes a surprised step back at the brief fighting stance, but recovers once Meiling relaxes.]

There was another girl that lived here in this dorm... I'm pretty sure that was her bed. She disappeared only a day ago. [She feels a little bad, because she didn't really get a chance to know her...]

Why would we need medicine to eat food? Unless something was in the food already?

[Meiling isn't to keen on testing that either.]

What if they put something in you ahead of time? You know, we all do wake up in a bed with no idea what really happened.

Oh...Maybe it's a mistake? I can always go elsewhere. Maybe she's just not found her way back?

[Meiling was at least hoping it worked that way. She stands up and puts the letters on the nightstand. She was keeping her self relaxed, not wanting to startle Aoi again.]

Does this happen often? Disappearances and new people showing up that is?

[She slumps back once more, Her mind asking tons of questions but none of them coming to the surface for her to ask out loud just yet. She's just torn in two, even though she didn't believe the letter one bit. She was happy to see Remilia but at the same time, at what cost did that come?]

Then...It's true to a extent then...Where...When...How...

[The questions were coming out but not completely. She was easy to read at this point, her eyes averted. She was coming to the conclusion of failing.]

I've heard it is. It's some twisted game the people in charge like to play, I guess... bringing people here but sending them away just when they might be happy or reunite with someone they haven't seen in a while. But this is the first time I've really seen it happen!

Other then what those letters say I guess...Which could mean anything from a lie to the truth.

[Someone is a bit hopeful on this.]

I can tell you a few things that are the truth from what I know. One of those is being able to grab people from different worlds. The other is being able to destroy worlds but I don't think it's as easy as they state it is.

[That was an unexpected answer.]

Uh...no. It'll just let you eat food other than the oatmeal.

Oh!

[ That means that she was right, even though she wasn't exactly sure. Maybe Maya can be the one to cheer her up. ]

Well, what are you worrying about? Maybe I can help!

[Remilia folds her arms, blowing a strand of hair out of her face.]

I don't believe our world was destroyed, if that's what you're thinking. It's simply too preposterous. These injuries have nothing to do with this supposed apocalypse.

...I'm not sure I believe that the worlds are destroyed but grabbing people from different worlds...That I can believe.

[Meiling picks up her spoon and swirls it in the oatmeal, actually thinking about eating the stuff]

But what could destroy worlds and for what reason?
