The Goddess's Judgment?

Characters: Sephiran and YOU!
Setting: Room 3-10 and the cafeteria.
Format: I'm posting in prose, but I'll gladly switch to whatever you want.
Summary: Sephiran arrives in the tower, thinking that his plan to have his goddess destroy his home world has succeeded and that he is receiving punishment for his failure to keep the Laguz and Beorc from fighting.
Warnings: None at this moment aside from Sephiran being a tad apathetic and depressing.

Room 3-10

Sephiran awoke in his room to the customary notes that everyone received: the one notifying him of his world's destruction, and the one telling him how to access the tower's different services. Unlike some people, Sephiran barely reacted to the news. He was the one who pushed his world to its destruction by divine judgment, after all. So, those warriors must have fallen to the dragons, or sooner, and the Goddess must have wiped the world clean as punishment for all its sins. It made sense that she would want to do away with him as well, given what he had done. But what was this strange place? How could the Goddess have devised things like these "terminals," and what need was there for a cafeteria? And what was with this strange green collar? Was this all part of his punishment?

Sephiran did not get up immediately. In fact, he stayed on his bed for quite a while, just staring at the ceiling. So he'd done it... he'd brought destruction to the Laguz and the Beorc. He found himself simply unsure what to think of his success. The job was done, and now all that was left was his punishment.

Cafeteria

Some time later, Sephiran had managed to stir up the effort to go get something to eat. He simply accepted the oatmeal he was given and picked at it slowly, filled with an overwhelming feeling of apathy. He had completed his mission, and that was all there was to it. Surely, the Goddess was rebuilding the world even as he sat here. He would accept this punishment and answer for his crimes, regardless of whatever trials the punishment held.

Ryuho just happens to be by the cafeteria, and he does recognize the look of a new arrival. Oddly enough, the man looked less shell-shocked or angry than most arrivals, as though the knowledge that his world was gone was simply part of the paradigm.

Ryuho paused, confused by the reference. "I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean by the goddess." He answered, brow furrowing.

"My name is Ryuho, or so I've been told."

"We all come from different worlds. I have not heard of such a thing from mine, but I may not be the best to ask."

Since he only had eight months of memory, and what Elian could fill in for him.

"It seems the histories of the places that we come from is different, and that we come from different times within those places. I don't really understand it, actually."

"I don't know much more than you would when you arrived. The people in charge play cruel jokes. Monsters attack periodically. Apparently, no one has found a way out yet."

"They had us dressed in costumes and seeking candy. However, the costumes would kill us if we did not find it, sand then the costumes would change us into a warped version of the costume."

"I can't say if it's a form of magic or some kind of science. The costumes tightened and crushed people who were not able to collect candy, but they bring us back if we die."

Ryuho's tone does not change for the explanation.

"That seems to be the case. At least, I was convinced that I had died. If it was an illusion, it was a very complex one."

His tone remained flat, but he nodded slightly.

"It seems to be science, but who knows? I have not heard of any goddess."
