The Book Girl and The Egg.

Characters: Tohko Amano and Wretched Egg for the first part and anyone else for the second!
Setting: The third floor and then the infirmary.
Format: Either prose or action!
Summary: Tohko meets Wretched Egg and finds out that Shiro isn't all that she seems. She then tries to find out what's wrong with her in the infirmary.
Warnings: Violence, since this will involve Wretched Egg.

Despite the chill and how poorly she felt, Tohko was still going about her library duties, sneezing over her shoulder occasionally and almost tripping over small corners. While she never made a mistake in cleaning, today she was making a few, as she sometimes put a book in the wrong spot. After she did this for the third time, she sighed.

"I really need to visit the clinic after this.."

Tohko, having found that the drones weren't much help in giving her medical advice, was looking over some of the pills, trying to decide which ones were the best to take. Tylenol? Advil? Or some of the other, weird and unusual bottles? Normally, she would have just stuck with the cold medicine on the shelf, but she was feeling so out of it that she was starting to consider other options.

Wretched Egg entered the library. Whether or not she was expecting to find Tohko there, she immediately recognized Shiro's new friend in the Tower. The two girls had been spending an awful lot of time together lately. So maybe it was only about time Wretched Egg and Tohko met properly.

For a few minutes, she remained silent. Watching the book girl sort her books through half-lidded eyes. She was sick obviously. That made her even weaker. Wretched Egg frowned in disgust when Tohko sneezed yet again. But she quickly schooled her expression into a somewhat harmless smirk before speaking up.

"Bless you~"

Tohko turned and smiled at what she thought was Shiro. She didn't notice any differences in behavior, if there were any.

"Ah, thank you Shiro! I'm sorry I didn't notice you. How have you been holding up? If you're cold, I could make you a cloak."

Wretched Egg started walking toward Tohko as she turned around. Slowly, like a cat approaching its prey. She hummed.

"Pretty sure Shiro could use a cloak. It's become rather cold in the Tower, hasn't it?"

She kept her tone light though it was as fake as Shiro's could be genuine. But she certainly didn't want to scare off the poor little book girl. Such a helpless little sparrow.

Tohko paused for a moment. Shiro had a split personality? Tohko managed to catch the fake sweetness in her voice.

"..It has. And I'd be happy to make Shiro a cloak..but who are you?"

"Such a sweet and helpful girl, Tohko~"

When Tohko asked her who she was, Wretched Egg chuckled. She had never been quite good at faking to be Shiro. Shiro's innocence was something that she cherished and protected, but was herself completely devoid of.

"Ksha~ Why I'm Shiro's guardian, of course~ Did she forget to tell you about me?"

"I'm glad you think that of me..but yes, Shiro forgot to tell me about you. And how are you her guardian?"

While Tohko didn't have any real reason to be worried, she was a little bit. That laugh sent shivers down her spine.

Veigar was in a different corner scouring the medicine in the infirmary in order to try and get rid of this cold as soon as possible. The random grumbling and cursing might have attracted someone but soon enough he was waddling away with a bunch of different bottles in his arms.

Might as well try them all!

Tohko heard someone grumbling, and turned in time to see him walking off with a bunch of different bottles. He seemed like an expert in medicine. Maybe he could recommend her something.

"Erm..pardon me, but do you know what might be best here for a cold?"

And Tohko immediately sneezed over her shoulder.

Veigar turned immediately, a couple of bottles dropping to the floor and rolling around just before the whole gaggle of them flew into the air after a rather sudden sneeze.

"Oh confound it all!" He shook a fist at the roof angrily, "Damn you! I know this is your doing!"

After a few moments of course he looked over a bit annoyed. "I've tried the normal means, but I'm sure they have made it impossible to gain healing from them. I was about to go experiment with the remedies that remain in this place."

Tohko picked up some of the bottles that fell onto the floor and offered them back to the man.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to suprised you..but what are the normal means for you? Magic?"

Veigar accepted the bottles and shook his head, "No, I don't do healing magic but that would be incredibly useful right now. I use potions and elixirs of healing and medicines as such. But they seem to either be tampering with those or with the sickness itself or with this blasted tower!"

He wouldn't put it past them to tamper with every single thing instead of just one.

Tohko sighed. "I don't think the Administrators can mess with the Tower, but they are probably messing with your potions. How do you make those here anyway?"

Tohko, loving magical things, was quite curious about this.

"I do it in my laboratory and yesss... that might explain their lessened functionality." He was definitely no Singed either, he would have loved to have the master chemist here, he'd whip up something to take this blasted cold away.

Veigar sighed and placed the bottles down.

"If they're messing with them, there's no point in continuing to waste materials. They'd be best to leave here." And others could find use for them but that wasn't Veigar's style, helping others was for the weak!

"But how do you do it in your laboratory? If you don't mind, could you show me?" Tohko loved magic, spells, and magic potions. Those things didn't exist in her world, but stories about them did, and she quite liked them.

"However, even if they're messing with your potions, the medicine here might work. After all, if they're letting it stay here, they probably don't consider it a threat."

Veigar looked thoughtful for a few moments and looked away with a huff, "Maybe... maybe some other time. When I'm not dribbling snot from my nose and have a castle sized throbbing headache."

He looked back at her curiously, "It begs to question though... What is it that interests you about potion making?" Aside that she had heard her sneeze earlier, but there was medicine here she could use.

"Hm, you might be right... But I've used the ones labeled for the things I have and no go... Maybe it just takes time." And it was clear that he wasn't one to like waiting.

Tohko nodded. "Right..I understand. Maybe when we're both feeling better you can show me."

She then sneezed over her shoulder before replying to his question. "Well, you see, potions, magic, and sorcery don't exist in my world. However, we have lots of stories about them, and I always likes those stories. I always wanted to learn how to make a magic potion or perform a spell. That's why I'm curious."

Tohko then nodded again. "Normal medicine like this does take some time to work. You'll have to wait a little while. No one likes it, but that's how it goes with this kind of medicine."

"Really? Shiro never told you about... Aceman~?"

Wretched Egg knew Shiro mentioned Aceman all the time. But when she did, she would either refer to herself, to Wretched Egg or to the original superhero. So it was hard for people to tell. And it should be enough to confuse Tohko a bit.

Wretched Egg came to stand even closer to Tohko, clearly invading her personal space to make her uneasy.

"Well I make sure no one tries to hurt her or make her suffer anymore~"

And those who did try, she just killed them. Most of the time without warning.

Ganondorf was visiting the infirmary in another prupose entirely: to steal as many medicines as he could, so that if a disease were to strike he would be the solution to the evil befalling this tower. Obviously when Tokho is there, he does not steal and pretends to be only visiting.

"Well well, if that is not our clean-obsessed 'book girl'..."

Ganondorf never forgets the face of someone who annoyed him. And this time he is not wearing a Santa costume.

"Ah curious about mystical studies I see." Veigar smiled. Sure his decision to learn everything he could was driven by madness and the masters of dark magics he trained under, and then afterwards killed would have never guessed he'd become the most dangerous spellcaster in Valoran. But he could appreciate the curiosity about magic and such arts.

"Maybe if you seem interested enough I could teach you a thing or two."

He then looked around and sighed. Using his acceleration magic wouldn't work on normal medicine so he'd just have to wait like the girl said.

Tohko took a small step back for her own personal comfort. Normally, she wouldn't have minded..but something about this girl seemed off. Like she was more used to being cold than being sweet.

"She told me that he was a Superhero that she liked and wanted to be like..so that was you? You're Aceman?"

Tohko then nodded.

"Well..that's a good goal."

Tohko however, was looking over a small shelf of cold medicine, trying to decide which one was the best when she spotted Ganon. When he spoke to her, she sighed and turned towards him. Of all of the people she had to run into today..

"Look..I apologized to you over the network. If you missed that message, than I am sorry for trying to kill you that month. It was that stupid costume. It messed with my head so that I killed people who made messes and disobeyed me. I killed three people before I managed to get it together. So, I do apologize for that..however, I am still the book girl, despite what you said. After all, I doubt your love and knowledge of books compares to mine."

And with that, Tohko sneezed twice over her shoulder. This cold was really starting to affect her.

And the smile on Tohko's face just grew after she heard that. Sure, she had tried to work magic with Waver before..but an entirely new magical system..this was going to be amazing!

"Really?! If you could, that would awesome! I'd really be happy if you taught me about potions, magic, and whatever else you know!"

She then sneezed over her shoulder. Really..this cold was terrible.

"Excellent." he replied with a wicked grin.

"Once this whole sick deal gets done and over with just send out for me. A message or anything will do. We can start then."

And on cue he sneezed as well. Gods he hated getting sick, it was dreadful!

"Ah, I will! I promise, I will! Hopefully we'll both get better soon so that we can start soon."

Tohko happily replied before reaching into a nearby cabinet and pulling out a box of tissues. She pulled out two for herself before handing the box to him.

"Here you are. The medicine may take awhile to kick in, but the tissues should help."

"I like your enthusiasm, yesss." he said a bit delighted even if his nose was stuffy.

He took the box and nodded at her, "I suppose you're right. Guess there's no point in rampaging through the tower. I'll be taking my leave to my room and rest. I suggest you do the same after taking the medications."
