Format: Action, but I'll match you.
Summary: Luke got the best gift ever for Christmas, and now it's time to show it off.
Warnings: Luke being a dork, possible violence.

[There's a very excited Luke on the screens on Christmas day, so happy and bright you can practically see the sun beams radiating off his face.]

Guys! You won't believe what I found in my trunk!

[At that declaration, he leans back a bit, easily hefting up a bastard sword and showing it off to the camera. Aw yeah, look who back in business! He swung it around a moment, before sliding it into the sheath on his back.]

I definitely need to train with it. I'll be on the meadow floor in an hour if you want to spar!

[A pause, before...]

Yu-sensei! You better be there! I need to show you what I can really do now that I've got a sword that fits me!

[Spoilers: it's not going to be much different from the usual.]

[Luke's not going to be answering his network post, but he is hanging around his dorm room for awhile, doing a few sets up push ups by his trunk for a bit, and then making sure his new sword is nice and sharp after that.]

[Once he's ready, he'll be heading up for the Meadow floor, and he can be found there, doing some practice swings to get used to the heavier weight. He's so itching for an opponent that it's painfully obvious.]

[Someone familiar shows up... with a shinai resting against her shoulder.]

[...and suddenly, Luke is less confident about his new sword.]

S-Saber, hey... how are you feeling?

Well. My apologies for my behavior during my illness.

[She nods to the sword.] Is it of good balance?

It's alright; I'm glad it was just you were sick, not going crazy.

[He grinned slightly at that.]

Yeah. I'm used to bigger swords.

As am I. I was worried I had gone insane.

[Bringing the shinai off her shoulder, she stepped into a neutral stance.]

Shall I test you?

[Luke's eyes went from the shinai back to Saber, his unease obvious.]

...you're not gonna kill me, right?

No. I have no reason to kill you. [He wasn't an abomination anymore and Saber wasn't lost in the darkness of her own corruption.]

Besides, if I was going to kill you, I would not be using a practice sword.

[Right... he should realize these things already.]

Well, I'm used to landing on my ass, so... that should be fine.

We shall do something different then. Try to strike me. I will only defend.

[Under normal circumstances, he might have raised objections to having to strike at a woman. But... this was Saber; he was pretty sure she was more bad ass than he was.]

All right.

[He readied himself, waiting for her indication that she was ready before moving to attack.]

[Nor did she consider herself a woman. While Luke took his stance, Saber extended her prana along the shinai, strengthening it. Otherwise, the bamboo sword would be easily cut by the bastard sword.

Her stance remained neutral and she nodded. Waited.]

[Albert style was a one handed fighting style that did not rely on a shield. Even with a sword as large and heavy as a bastard sword, Luke wielded the blade with ease as he brought it crashing down on her wooden sword.]

[Despite having absolutely no need to use two hands, she kept both on the shinai as she easily parried Luke's sword as if she knew exactly where he was going to attack.

Because she did. The blade was turned aside as the knight pivoted and let his momentum take himself right past her.]

[As expected, Luke went right by her, though he was getting better at recovery. Instead of fumbling like an idiot, he skidded along the snow, turning himself around to face her, before charging again.]

[And again, she parried, letting him past her.]

Charging like that only works when you know you can overwhelm your opponent. Otherwise you leave your flank open to the skilled swordsman.

You sound busy.

[Says the guy who is clearly not busy, alternating between laying around ~~as if he's avoiding leaving~~ and mussing around in his trunk, obviously not looking for anything.]

[That is indeed a new sword. Flashier, but it also looks sharper...]

Huh? [The feed cuts out before he could think of anything to say. Guess there was something to look forward to today...]

[With one hour to spare, Mr. Walker leisurely makes his way to the meadow floor...and is fifteen minutes late.]

[Almost like a spy, he merely watches with a smile.]

Tch...

[He liked opening his attacks with just a simple combo, and then launching into the more complicated stuff. Unfortunately with his style, simple stuff involved a lot of charging. So... maybe he should do something different for a change? Didn't Yu say it was dumb to follow patterns anyway?]

[Luke readied himself... before charging again. Only this time he stopped before she had the opportunity to side step on him again, bringing his sword down hard and then jumping up, almost like he was trying to split her in half.]

Hm?

[Luke glanced over at the new roommate that had replaced the headgehog guy, curious. He'd been wanting to ask why the heck he had those bandages wrapped around his eyes, but never got the nerve to do it.]

Heh, yeah. I've been needing a new sword for awhile.

Did you break your last one?

[Which would have been a feat. Either in strength or failing to take care of it. Or maybe he just never had a sword in the first place.]

Yeah; tried to break though a barrier.

It, uh... didn't work.

Brute forcing that kind of thing is silly unless it's an emergency.

So...there was no blacksmith able to put it back together?

Well, yeah, it was; I was trying to help my friend.

[He let out a sigh.]

If there is, I haven't found them. But, it doesn't matter; I've got a new one now.

You should still get the old one fixed. Two weapons will always be better than one. I've learned a few things in blade maintenance so I might be able to help.

I dunno...

[He trailed off as he glanced down at the old sword, having removed it from his belt before making his excited network post.]

...there's just a lot attached to this sword, that's all.
