Judgment 1: Arrival

Summary:Eiki tries to get her barrings.

Not being able to move after waking was startling, not quite frightening, but startling. Mostly due to the fact she hadn't remembered going to sleep. She didn't have time to sleep much and she had not used the Cleansed Crystal Mirror enough to require any. The other thing of quick note was that she was in an unfamiliar space and laying down. This was not her court room, something very suspicious was going on.

She didn't try and move for a while, the paralysis had probably past quite a bit before she went to move, but she had been busy thinking. She didn't have enough of a picture to make a decision yet, on what to do or what to assume. She would have to learn more first. The best place to start was of course the room she had awoken in. Bed, some sort of chest, simple provisions and a letter. The letter was a start, but not satisfactory.

"If I were to believe that at face value I would be considered a fool," she aid as she placed the letter down.

No, her world could not be destroyed, it wasn't something that could really be "destroyed". End perhaps, but not randomly. They would have known ahead of time of any potential changes.

Next was to check the trunk, she was relieved to find her clothes in there as well as some of her tools. She would be keeping those with her at all time now. With a quick change she decided to see if anyone else was around, or at least exploring every other door in her area in case there were more answerers to be found.


She was aware of some sort of requirement of eating oatmeal as ones first meal, but it seemed a bit strange. She wasn't particularly interested in it, and she couldn't say it was particularly appetizing to look at. She sat staring at it as if judging it intently while a hand absently went to her throat every so often to fiddle with the collar there.

"Hardly a meal one would want to be greeted with first thing."

I'll share mine with you after you finish that.

[He doesn't need to see to know what it is. The complaint and the smell pretty much gave it away. Not that it smelled bad but it certainly had its own scent.

On the other hand, Shiki had a grilled...something. It was meat at least, but the animal of choice was probably difficult to discern. It was deer for the curious minded.]

That's a very kind gesture, though I just don't find myself hungry in general. It's a bit hard to work up an appetite considering. But thank you.

[She slowly scooped up a spoonful to take a bite. She had no need of food, except in very limited situations, so food had always ever been simply for taste. But obligation would keep her to the task regardless.]

It's the taste you're looking for. A good tasting food can make your day all that much better. And in a place like this, you'll need every advantage you can get to your mood.

"It is not a meal that many of us enjoy eating. But if you finish at least one bowl, then you can eat anything else."

[ Noticing the woman just... sitting there. JUDGING the oatmeal, he really can't help himself-- ] Hey, hey, go easy on it. What's the oatmeal ever done to you?

--Ah. [ Sakuya found the skin tight suits easy to move about in, perhaps even more so than an assigned maid outfit. Also, the material has been a lot easier to wash than plain cotton, which absorbs and stains easily. To do her job here (which is a maid of the dorms) it has been quite useful, even if it is... well. It doesn't leave much up to the imagination, does it? No need to think much of that now because there is someone she sees walking about and there's no way she could be here of all people.

So Sakuya simply blinks, thinking this is some sort of hallucination like others had been experiencing previously. ]

In the hallways near the dorms.

[Meiling had been practicing her route for her job in the tower, trying to get from one side of the hallway to the other as fast as possible without missing much going on in between.

Although that does not mean she's not above almost running over someone. But she does dodge out of the way at nearly the last moment. She stops and turns towards her.]

WHOA! Sorry about that..Almost didn't see you there!

Is there anything specific that makes it unpleasant? Though I must admit it doesn't seem particularly ideal so far.

For a moment she wondered why this one meal was so integral, what did it do to allow other food to be eaten?

"It's rather curious it's so required, it makes one wonder what's in it, and it becomes further suspect."

I suppose nothing, yet. However the fact it is a requirement is worrying.

[That was a surprise, she hadn't expected to run into someone familiar, especially from Gensokyo. Though for just a moment the outfit threw her off. She hadn't liked how form fitting it was herself.]

I can't really speak specifically. I do know that recently, a sickness went around that affected people's minds and it certainly didn't seem to be natural.

[She tilted her head a bit miffed by the suggestion.]

That would be a fairly safe thing to assume. I can't think of any other idea.

Saber had paused upon hearing the comment and had to give her own opinion as it was so close to her own.

"If it were not required, I would never have eaten it myself."
