(no subject)

Characters: Miles Edgeworth and you!
Setting: Dorms or Floors 48 or 47!
Format: Prose but will match!
Summary: Miles Edgeworth and you!
Warnings: Does being in one of those horrible white bodysuits count?

Room 4-16

[To say this is ‘Not Miles Edgeworth’s Day’ would be a pretty bad understatement. Waking up in some unknown room in some hideous tight suit and not being able to move for the first half a minute of waking

Not to that horrible collar around his neck..

Just what in the world is going on?!

As for the letters.....they left the prosecutor completely stunned. The world had apparently been destroyed and he himself had been saved? Just......what? Is this some poorly-made practical joke? Because Edgeworth is sure that if the world was being destroyed, he would have probably noticed anything that indicated it was going to beforehand.

However, there is one fact that the prosecutor cannot deny - that he was no longer at home and someone had brought him to this strange place. Who has and why, he does not know, but he is going to find out...

Residents of 4-16, you have a roommate now. He's sitting on his bed, still staring at the letters and trying to think things through. He hasn't noticed you yet. You might want to yell at him or tap him on the shoulder]

Around the Dorms

[Now having found his suit in his trunk and now being dressed in a red suit with a noticeably large and frilly cravat more decent and respectable clothing, Miles Edgeworth starts wandering around the dorm area, trying to find anyone who can give him relevant information about the tower. ]

Excuse me. [If you turn around, you may see a young man in his mid-twenties, giving you this rather cold glare. SPOILERS. It's not intentional]

Floor 48

[Those who knows Edgeworth very well will know that he has a great fear of elevators, thanks to a traumatic incident he experienced as a child. Back home, he always used the stairs to get to his office, even though it was on the 12th floor.

And while Edgeworth knows that at some point, he has to overcome that fear, he has decided to test how long it will take to go all the way down to the cafeteria...

He did not expect to stumble across a graveyard, though, let alone a ceiling which looks very convincingly like the sky (or at least Edgeworth thinks it is possibly a very convincing simulation. As to why there is one, though). Just....what is this room?

You can find him exploring this floor, occasionally looking at a gravestone. He does not seem to recognise any of the names, though]

Floor 47

[A floor full of sheets and curtains. How bizarre. Why on earth is there a room full of them? Also, why does Edgeworth feel he is not alone in the room?

Suddenly, something moves behind the nearest curtain, making the prosecutor nearly jump.

Was that just his imagination just now? Or was that a face he saw behind the curtain?

Someone on the same floor might want to approach the guy and tell him this floor isn't safe]

[...Well, that is a man. In extremely frilly red clothing. Giving him a death glare.]

[Equius is notoriously bad at keeping composure under such scrutiny, so he can't help but shrink a bit under Edgeworth's gaze, grabbing on tighter to the stone box in his hands. He'd never seen the man before, which meant that he probably had just arrived here, but... why did he look so mad?]

Um.

Yes?

[Luckily for Edgeworth, Itachi is on his way down the stairs, and the sight of an unfamiliar person poking around on that floor gives him pause. He doesn't bother to step off of the staircase, but he speaks loudly enough to be heard.]

You won't find anything of interest here. [A beat, and then:] ...And I wouldn't touch any of those curtains, if I were you.

[He made that mistake back when the floor first appeared. He was able to fight off the monster that leapt out at him, but Itachi's been in the Tower long enough to know that not everyone has the ability to defend themselves.]

[Well, Riku isn't on the same floor exactly, but he is passing by just in time to see him 'almost jump'.

...Someone with that reaction to this floor proooooobably shouldn't stay there. Might as well get to his good deed of the day, right?

Have a silver-haired teenager with crossed arms standing near the stairs?]

...You may want to move on to another floor.

[ Wrong person to ask, Edgeworth. Okay, she does look normal, just a teenage girl in a school uniform and all, but still.. ]

Wha-t is it..?

Another one?

[Lancer throws the new arrival in his room a half-amused, half-bored glance. His room really is filling up at this rate.]

You need someone to read those letters to you?

[Jack stares at him for a long. Long moment.]

Son, you look like something that not even a mother could excuse.

[No, they're... they're not. Hate to break it to you.]

[He just kind of stands there for a moment, looking terrified; has he done something wrong? Is this man working with the administration? Is he going to die? Oh god, he doesn't want to die, please don't kill him. So the next thing out of his mouth is:]

I'm sorry.

[Equius is really good at first impressions, as you can see.]

[Lancer approaches Egdeworth silently as only a servant known for agility can. He doesn't mean to startle his new roommate, but between Edgeworth's distracted stare and his silence, it's bound to happen no matter how soft and gentle is voice is.]

I realize this must all be a horrid shock for you. I'm new myself, though I have had a chance to talk to a few other people now. If I may, I'd like to make a few suggestions. The first thing you may want to do is look in the trunk at the bottom of your bed. There should be some things from home inside and that will most likely include some clothing you will feel more comfortable in.

And speaking of home, yours hasn't been destroyed. Or at least, that is what everyone has told me. Despite what the letter says, very few actually believe it. They feel its just an attempt to keep us from trying to escape this place.

The best of friends, definitely.

Mr. Edgeworth, you're here?

[He shrugs.]

I get it. Did the stuff in the intro shock you? Only thing I can say is that I don't know how true the world-destroying part is.
blackwitch: (at the same time)

[personal profile] blackwitch 2013-01-07 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
You're saying nobody bothered to tell you anything yet? [ a giggle - why she's amused about that, nobody knows.. ]

That means they're just letting you be prey for the monsters!

In my experience, nothing pleasant has come from touching those curtains. They'll leave you alone if you don't try to peek at them, though.

[Confident as he sounds, Itachi neglects to mention what "they" are.]

Nah. If I did bring you anywhere, it probably wouldn't be this little Tower.

[More like an Irish pub or something.]

[ Uh.

Well. Okay, wow, she honestly expected a much more dignified response from Edgeworth from all people, so Maya's going to sound slightly awkward as she speaks up. ]

I've been here for a few months, actually.

Yes, from what I have heard we are indeed trapped here. There have been escape attempts, but they have all ended very badly. Even in places where it seems like one could easily escape, death is all that awaits those who try. Whoever is in charge of this place very definitely wants to keep us contained within the tower.

[Lancer shakes his head still a little confused himself at how it all works.]

And I would avoid the viewing stations on floor five. They will show you nothing you want to see if you love your world and would rather hold onto the hope that it is just as you left it. Whether they are actual glimpses into the truth or an elaborate illusion, I don't know, but they are painful to see nonetheless.
