[There's a jadeblood by the stairs, fidgeting a little but mostly just watching Equius move. It's very impressive, the way Equius moves, sure, but more than awe there's also a good deal of affection and yearning, in Eridan's stare. He's fidgeting because he can't decide, if he should stay and try to talk to him, or leave and avoid him. He doesn't really want to do either, so the matter boils down to which he he doesn't want to do less.

Which is fucked up enough, he supposes, but true enough.

The decision is made for him when Equius makes his way across a particularly dangerous looking stretch, and Eridan finds himself gasping in surprise, stomach somewhere around his knees and hands unconsciously reaching for him, even if he reached his destination without incident.
