[She's going to spend a few moments doing just that...jeez, it's really hard to believe that she's friends with someone who used to be like that.]

That guy, huh...man, you really weren't kidding!

[She shrugs, but even so, she's smiling.]

Well, it's not like you're the only one. My friends I got off to a pretty rocky start with all of them, y'know. We never saw eye to eye, so every time I would meet one of them I'd wind up thinking something like, "there's no way I could get along with a person like that!"

[There's a touch of awkwardness as she calls them her "friends." Even now, she's not entirely sure that's the right word...and even so, after not having any for years, it's a little embarrassing, somehow.]
