11th Recipe - Boil Them, Burn Them, Fry Them in Oil [Open]

Summary: Kazumi has been droned into Group C. Will seek out those in despair. May attack others when malfunctioning, especially magical girls.
Warnings: Violence, death, trauma

[When Kazumi returns after disappearing, she looks mostly normal. However, her eyes look a little different and there are small round bells attached to her skin all over her body, making her jingle wherever she moves. Don't think she can't sneak up on you though; thanks to her powers, sometimes she can appear out of nowhere with just a flash of light.

Sometimes she seems just like a normal worker, doing things like cleaning up around the residential area or just patrolling about. For those that have access to the lower levels, you might see her working in the processing unit, picking apart bodies with long, black, claw-like fingers or transporting them to the soul extractor.

And then sometimes things go wrong... she may end up doing creepy things like following you around for no reason. Or maybe you wake up in the middle of the night and she's standing there, watching you silently. Or down in the processing unit, she might just be tearing bodies apart, flinging parts around, or she appears in the upper levels of the tower again, wreathed in blood and gore, still carrying some poor body's guts.

Or maybe she's after you, violently attacking for no reason. Particularly, any of the other magical girls will appear to her as witches, who she'll immediately try to kill.

Her eyes have been modified so they can see despair, and she'll want to do whatever it takes to draw that out and make it worse, so try not to feel too bad around her or you may just have a new "friend"~]

The Dorms

[..This was enough. chaos was going to try and get a proper nap in his own bed. Maybe he could sleep through this whole thing, if he was lucky. However, as he wandered own the dorms, he saw and sensed a girl much like Kyoko..but she too had been modified..her eyes were odd, and bells were attached all over her body.

Inwardly, chaos sighed. He was in a melancholy state normally, but this was..horrible, seeing so many people have their free will, their ability to choose, spat on.]

..Are you alright?

[starofpleiades]

[Kazumi turned at that question, her head tilting curiously. There was certainly a sense of... despair about him, at least a little.]

I'm fine.

[No, I'm not! she wanted to scream, but couldn't. She couldn't do anything at all, much to her horror]

Dormitories (Group A + Guy's malfunction = killing chicks. Injury/Death y/n?)

[To see another set of drones patrolling the halls wasn't confusing in the least. But seeing this particular worker following behind a perturbed resident, close enough to breath over her shoulder, wasn't natural. It wasn't getting her tasks done.

It had to be fixed.

The heavy chains attached to his body drag behind him loudly as he approaches Kazumi, his gaze clouded but hard.]

Worker. Cease that immediately. Leave the resident alone.

(Sure!)

[Kazumi turned, her whole body jingling as she didn't]

Why?

[Considering she was malfunctioning, she couldn't process why she'd be told to stop... but she did obey, as the resident ran off.]

(Cool! If Guy gains his sanity at any time his despair will be high, so just a ntoe)

[He sighs roughly. This should be an easy question. What, were all the drones in this building broken?]

What task have you been assigned, and why are you not currently doing such?

[starofpleiades]

[Task? Her task had been... well, she'd been following that person, so wasn't that her task? But... what task was that?]

I... do not know. It was... important. To follow them.

[Their delicious despair...]

Were you instructed at any time to follow them? Were they acting out?

[He highly doubts it.]

[lightofhumanity]

[Despair and depression. However, chaos could sense her inner horror and pain, despite her words.]

..I see. Is there anything I can do to help you?

[starofpleiades]

It is not necessary.

[There was no reason for a worker unit to require the help of the residents, was there?

Kazumi was horrified at the realization that she was treating herself as a worker, as one of those mindless drones. She wanted to say it was wrong, but couldn't bring herself to do anything...

She tilts her head, eyes staring eerily]

Is there something wrong?

[starofpleiades]

I... do not know.

[She's a bit more sure about her second answer though]

They were despairing.

[While chaos didn't say it out loud, his powers allowed him to understand what Kazumi was feeling.]

No..not with me. But you look troubled. Are you sure you do not want my help with anything?

[starofpleiades]

I'm sure. You do not need to concern yourself with my work.

[It felt weird, unnatural, saying words so stiffly. Having her mouth move and voice speak without meaning to. She can't do anything to stop it though.]

My eyes do not lie... there's something troubling you.

[She steps closer, bells jingling]

It is not your work that I am concerned about..it is your personal, well-being.

[..Could she sense his emotions? That..was possible. Yes.]

..I am alright. You need not worry about me.

[It's all been too much. Saki can pinpoint the exact moment where it all started to go downhill, months ago, but till now, she's been able to bottle it up, to put it aside.

But now? She's wandered to the graveyard and seen Akemi Homura's name. She's seen what has happened to Tomoe Mami and Sakura Kyoko. And while she can recognize Kazumi - will always be able to recognize Kazumi - she can't help but gasp, then shake her head, and finally stand there shaking. She can't actually say anything, not now.]

[starofpleiades]

Personal? Well-being?

[Concerns like that don't register to the worker unit, but Kazumi is twisting up inside, wanting to scream yes, to let them know they're right and she needs help! But her lips only move with the programmed words]

Liar. You are... despairing.

[starofpleiades]

[A jingle of bells as Kazumi turn towards her. She can see the despair rolling off this young girl, and it draws her closer]

Hello. Is something wrong?

[There's a mechanical lack of tone to her voice, but worse yet, there's the hint of a smile on her lips when she asks that.]

[lightofhumanity]

Yes. 'Your personal well being. Can you hear me?'

[The last two sentences were spoken to Kazumi through telepathy, in an attempt to reach her. chaos didn't like using this power..but, in times like these..sometimes, there was no choice.]

...Perhaps I am.

[starofpleiades]

I do not understand.

[Kazumi is shocked to receive that message, but she's quick to react. Her mind tries to respond to him, telling him she's trapped, she can't control herself, she doesn't know what happened - snippets and fragments of memories of the surgery, the pain-]

Why? I want to help. [Help him despair more, that is]

Help me with what?

[chaos got that message and, as he sent her soothing mental images-the ocean, a field of daises, a purple sunrise-he replied.

'It's alright..please, I will not hurt you. I know you can't control yourself. The Administrators have..mutilated you, ripped away your free will. I am so sorry..'

Kazumi...it's me. It's Saki. Come on, you know who I am. I know you do. What did they do to you?

[The question between the lines: 'what can I do to change you back?']

[The bells jingle sharply - there's an odd twitch to her body and she steps closer. A dark, vine-like pattern is starting to play across her skin, coming down her arms and legs, up her neck...]

Help you... more... more...

[The images, if not completely calming, at least reassure her of his intent. But that just makes her more worried. Please, go! Run away!

She could feel herself slipping...]

[starofpleiades]

Sa... ki.

[That's. Definitely not the sound of recognition.]

Do? Nothing has been done to me. I'm in perfect working condition.

[She raises her arms, bells jingling, looking between her hands as if inspecting for wounds.]

[..That twitch didn't bode well, and nor did that..pattern crawling up this person's skin.]

Why would you want to help me feel more despair?

[chaos, for better or worse, could feel it do, so he left her with one last mental image-the night sky filled with millions of stars-before speaking quickly.]

'I shall try. Please, take care, if you can.'

[He then got out of her head and started walking backwards, determined to do as the girl said.]

Everyone should... should despair...

[Her movements are getting more erratic, and Kazumi's voice in her mind is getting more distant. Her fingers were darkening, lengthening, becoming more like claws than fingers as she started stumbling forwards with eerie, doll-like movements. Ungainly but starting to pick up speed.

Now would be a good time to run.]

[..Well, this was not good. Actually turning now, chaos started to run away, quickly. He'd usually teleport short distances if he thought he could get away with it..but, perhaps, she would get weaker if she managed to chase him through a power-loss floor. Or she would only for for a short distance before giving up.

Either way, he was running away from Kazumi now, as fast as he could.]
