[S] Karkat: Seek the Teddy Bear
Characters: Karkat Vantas [AU1] and YOU
Setting: Dormatory floors
Time: Backdated May 25th.
Format: Prose to start, I will match
Summary: Karkat's attempt to warn the Tower about Captain Cinnamon Claws didn't quite go as planned.
Warnings: Bear related horror, possible death
Notes: Feel free to use this log if you just want a witness to CCC!death for other characters.
It was times like this that Karkat wished there was an easier way to get in contact with the others. He had awoken today to notice that there was a distinct feature missing from his room and that everything felt...different. Colder. The change chilled his blood in ways he thought weren't possible as memories hit him from the year prior. It would have been a blessing to forget, but unfortunately, Karkat held the constant reminder in his dormatory room in case it were to ever happen again.
The reminder was missing today. After nearly a year and a half, Captain Cinnamon Claws was on the loose again.
He didn't check to see if his roommates were awake -- if they were in their beds, hidden from him, they would be fine. But there would be others who weren't so lucky. If they didn't see the writing on the wall, they would die. He had to warn as many people as possible, even with the chill running down his spine. Every now and then he'll duck into an unknown dormatory looking horrified, regardless of who lives in there. Perhaps as he's rounded the corner, he's pulled you into a crevasse to hide from the lurking bear.
Either way, the first thing he'll try to do is cover your mouth once you make eye contact with him and mouth the words:
"Shut up. He's here."

She doesn't put up a fuss, but her eyebrows furrow and her eyes narrow in inquisition. The question is clear in her gaze.
Who the hell does Karkat mean by "he"?

He pulls a BLUE pen from his jacket and starts to write on his hand. "THE STUFFED GRIZZLYBEAST" is spelled out and shown to Kanaya as he backs further into the corner and points upward. Upstairs. Then he points to the side. Staircase.

Her hands feel clammy, and though the season for her cape has passed, she finds herself longing for it when the cool air seeps through the protective layers of her coat and shirt. Her confusion is evident when Karkat starts scribbling on his own hand, though as soon as he shows the words to her, her face begins to drain of color completely. There's only one kind of stuffed grizzlybeast that could spook Karkat so badly, and Kanaya's been on the wrong end of its claws once already.
She glances in the directions that Karkat points and then proceeds to crowd with him into the corner. At this proximity, it becomes obvious that Karkat isn't the only one quaking in his shoes.

At least, until she notices what he's mouthing silently. Then she pauses, blinking a couple of times with her hand still on the hilt of her sword. "He's here."? Who's here? Whatever the case it's obvious the strange person in front of her isn't trying to hurt her and she makes a mental note to apologize later for almost attempting to eviscerate him, but this doesn't feel like the time. Something serious must be happening, so she tries mouths a single word back.]
"What?"
[As confused as she is, at least she's keeping quiet.]
