[ Maya knew that they had to talk. It was important, after all, and the fact that two more people from her world - from their future, no less - were here. There were things to discuss. Many, many things.

Especially since one of those people was a really close friend. So, immediately after Edgeworth invites the young acolyte, she rushes on over, finally at his doorstep.

And then she knocks. ]

Heeeey! Mr. Edgeworth, it's me!

[ Sorry, but she's loud today. ]

[WELL, AT LEAST YOU'VE KNOCKED THIS TIME!

They definitely have to talk. Phoenix Wright is here - Phoenix Wright. Technically, this should not happen if Earth was really destroyed. On the other hand, when Edgeworth arrived in January, Maya claimed that she had already been in Animus for about five months. However, Edgeworth only saw her at Gatewater Land a few days before his arrival in the tower.

As Maya has no reason to lie, the only other explanation is something that Edgeworth has to take into consideration, much to his chagrin - they are all from different timelines.

There is also Apollo Justice, a defense attorney from Edgeworth's and Maya's world who arrived in the tower about the same time as Phoenix. And his arrival is just adding to the confusion.

Nevertheless, whatever the truth is, Maya has a right to know about the new arrivals - especially Phoenix. After all, Maya was Phoenix's assistant and one of his closest friends.

Edgeworth opens the door.] Good, you're here. Come in. We have much to discuss.

[mayatama]

Yeah.

[ She knows that Nick is here, she's met him personally after all. But the fact was that he's changed; she knew it all too well. She doesn't know why, which is one of the reasons why she won't pry. But still.

Maya will walk in and close the door behind her. ]

So, what are we going to talk about? It's not about the Steel Samurai, is it?

[ MAYA PLEASE. ]

.....No. [Raises an eyebrow because GEEZ WHY WOULD HE ASK HER TO COME ALL THE WAY HERE FOR THAT? Edgeworth enjoys his geek habits alooooone.;_;]

I have actually invited you here as I bear rather........alarming news. [Although 'alarming' does not quite cut it.

And he gestures to his bed.] Would you like a seat? This might take a while.

[mayatama]

[ Because this area is private enough and we all know he secretly enjoys the Steel Samurai... ]

Well, if you still want to talk about it later, we totally can!

[ She sounds as enthused as ever as she clasps her hands, nodding as she decides to take a seat. Her voice then turns slightly serious, because she knows that the first order of business is going to be-- ]

It's about Nick, isn't it?

[frilliance]

[Have a frown in response, Maya. Why did you have to bring that up?!

His expression softens, however, when Maya sits down and gets straight to the point.]

I see. So the two of you have already met?

[mayatama]

Yeah.

[ She nods, scratching the back of her head as she laughs awkwardly, her voice a little melancholy. ]

I didn't recognize him at first, too...

[frilliance]

Yes......you're not the only one [Edgeworth is clearly bothered by this as well if the look of unease in his face were not a sign. Is this man really Phoenix Wright and is he really.....older? Were he, Edgeworth, Apollo and Maya really all brought from different timelines?

That is not the only issue, however. While Edgeworth would normally be glad to see his childhood friend, Animus is an awful place to be. What happens if Phoenix gets badly hurt like Maya was? How is Edgeworth going to be able to prevent that?]

He's really changed, hasn't he?

[ That alone worries her, especially since she knows how dangerous the tower is. She's already died not once, but twice, and she doesn't want her friend to suffer in the same way that she did. ]

[frilliance]

[And while Edgeworth hasn't died yet, he nearly did, thanks to Ryoji. It was by luck that Riku and Link managed to find them in time. The same thing could happen to Phoenix.....and he might not be so lucky.]

Indeed......which makes this place even more of a mystery. [People shouldn't be pulled from different timelines. It makes no sense.

Then again, a lot of this tower doesn't make sense.]
