I have heard similar pronouncements from mortals and immortals both-- even myself.
In my experience, Vengeance got never serves or soothes as well as one thinks it might.

If you are of such a superior and powerful people, surely petty, human slights are as nothing to you.
Why pursue this grudge of yours, then?
