"Kain was broken as well when he returned. It's hard to imaging wanting to be back in this place, but..." Diarmuid's voice trails off as he remembers how shaken and shattered Kain had been when they had first met. Even now the dragoon still seems to be trying to get over what he had seen and experienced back on his world.

The thought is depressing and so he is glad when Tohko pushes the conversation back toward brighter things, "Yes, considering what you have told me about his past, I expect he is a very good chef for you. So many trials and so much emotion. Hopefully, he will be able to cook for you for quite a while."

When Tohko mentions the type of person she wants to be, Diarmuid nods and smiles at her, "I am sure you will make it there someday. My father always said as long as you keep fighting and never give up, you will eventually become whatever it is you want to be. You are no quitter so I know you will make it. Even if it is a long road, you will make it to the end."
