If I don't eat some pudding or something sweet, my eyes just start watering."

And..that smile grew just a little wistful when her parents were brought up. "They were! My parents really were wonderful people! Mom cooked a lot of meals for me whenever she had the time, and Dad was a book editor and let me come with him sometimes when he wasn't too busy. They never had a problem with my tastebuds, and they're the reason I'm a book girl in the first place."
