SERIOUSLY WHO NEEDS THIS RIGHT NOW.

Setting: Starts just outside the mail room; then, it is up to you!

Summary: He finally got the package from the mail room.
Warnings: He's going to be slightly freaking out a bit?

So he had finally decided to check out the mail room. He had somewhat read about it in that letter, but his interest had not been piked until he overheard something about... bad packages. Body parts? Blood? What is the deal with that? Would something like that be sent to him? There is only one way to find out, in spite of the fact that he is kind of... worried. He gets to the mail room, the process of getting the package being fairly painless. He is unable to even look inside, though.

He steps outside of the mailroom, his eyes resting calmly on the unopened box. He slowly inhales. As he exhales, he rips the tape from the box and looks... inside.

At first, he appears to be unsure of how to act. His hand instinctively reaches down and picks up the lock of white hair, before having it rest in the palm of his slightly trembling hand. His expression slowly forms into that of sheer shock, gray eyes widening.

"Shiro!"

Hours later, he can be seen storming through the tower, a look that combines fear, determination, and anger. Even if Shiro is fine, there is still the matter of someone playing a cruel joke here. His fists tighten with each floor he thoroughly searches. Where is she?! The black-haired boy's feet begin to move faster, as time ticks on without him catching sight of the familiar white-haired girl. Finally, he reaches what appears to be another floor or dormitories.

"Shiro!!!"

"Mm? Woodpecker-kun? ✩" Hagire called as he heard Ganta's frantic yelling. He was calmly opening the door to his own dorm room, freshly stitched, and freshly healed. He was wanting to 'play' with Wretched Egg tonight, but this? This might be more fun. Assuming, of course, Ganta was yelling about Shiro for the reason he thinks he was.

"Did something happen to my beloved Wre-... Shiro-chan?" He claps his hands, spinning out in front of him.

He almost storms right past the person, until his eyes land on them. Toto. Maybe Toto could help!

"Toto-san!" He quickly approaches the other, stopping a couple of feet away and thrusting the box towards the Mockingbird.

"Someone..." His voice is filled with both rage and confusion, "...someone sent me this!" He clenches his teeth, fighting obvious tears.

White hair, covered in blood. He has to resist the urge to laugh. This is what has Ganta so worked up? For one thing, this could just as easily be Sephiroth's hair. And for another, just like as if it were Sephiroth's hair, anyone dumb enough to make Shiro bleed probably deserved whatever happened afterward.

"So?" Hagire asks, handing the box back. "Shiro's covered in more scars than me, and you're mad that someone pulled her hair? ✩"

Jeez. Hagire may have had her amputated, vivisected, disemboweled, and injected with toxins and nanomachines, but hair-pulling? Come on, the man has standards. "Besides, anyone dumb enough to draw blood from her didn't live long enough to enjoy it. I'd have loved to see that. ✩"

His expression relaxes a bit, then frowns. Covered in scars? He now looks more confused, than angry. Toto is acting like this is far from a big deal. The package does not have a name on it, besides Ganta's, so he has no idea who did this. He really wishes he did.

"Even if she's fine, the person is playing a seriously bad joke! But... what if she's not ok? What if..."

He clenches his teeth, once more, before closing the box. He lets out a frustrated sigh. Toto is right. Shiro is fine and Ganta is, as usual, overreacting.

"You... really have a lot of faith in her, don't you, Toto-san?" He always worries about her... Always feels compelled to protect her, even though she has spent most of the time protecting him...

Yet, here is this guy looking like he wants to laugh at Ganta for freaking out over apparently nothing.

"Aha, come on, you've seen how fast she heals, haven't you? ✩" He claps his hands, giggling again. "It's funny, really. You'd think healing that fast would be counterproductive for a Deadman, but she makes it work beautifully."

Oh, right. He... still doesn't know about that. That's such a shame. He doesn't want to give it all away right here. No, he'd much rather Ganta saw for himself. "She's not as blissfully unaware of her surroundings as she lets on. Besides, you of all people should know that wanting to protect the first girl you see who seems helpless is a bad idea. ✩"

Minatsuki, anyone?

He tenses ever so slightly at the mentioning of her as a Deadman. He is still going to want to see that one for himself. It is one of those things that a person needs to see, to fully ever believe and come to terms with.

He just slightly narrows his eyes at that last part. What does he mean by that?

An image of the beginning of his fight with Minatsuki pops into his head. Yeah, that was one of his first real eye opening moments of DW. One of the major times he had another realization of just how... twisted that place is.

But, how would this guy know about that? Even down to the details that Ganta was... tricked by her? Maybe he is talking about something else? But, what else could he be talking about?

"What... do you mean?" He voice makes it unwillingly obvious he knows, already, though.

Ganta wasn't the first to fall for that particular act of Minatsuki's. She's a cute little girl who is every bit as good at lying and exploiting others as her brother is, and she uses both to her advantage in a way that was truly ingenious. Unfortunately, it apparently didn't work well enough on the first two people she lost to.

"Just that she's more than capable of taking care of herself. There's a reason I don't hold her hand every time she leaves her dorm room. I don't have to."

He leans up against the nearby wall. "My love for her didn't come from nothing, you know. ✩"

His expression tenses, slightly, as a word stands out above the rest: love.

In the back of his mind, he wonders how mutual those feelings are. Hagire is obviously implying something, here, but Ganta still is unable to figure out what. He opens his mouth to say something, but then closes it. He is still not entirely convinced Shiro is alright. What if that were a warning that something is about to happen? Either way, he has to find her.

"Do you know where she might be? I still want to see her."

"I already said where I think she is, Ganta-kun. ✩" Hagire answers casually, "Just wait. She'll be here soon enough."

[She isn't Shiro, but she's heard enough of Ganta's shouting to know that something is wrong. Jenna follows the sound of the voice until she finds the young man. There is an expression of acute concern on her face as she approaches him.]

What's wrong? Did something happen?

[He abruptly stops at the sound of the voice, since the hallway is empty. He spins around, eyes widened ever so slightly. He quickly approaches her.]

Have you seen a girl with white hair and red eyes?! She about this tall... [He gestures her height with his hand.] She answers to Shiro!

[He sounds genuinely desperate to find her and prays she knows who he is talking about.]

[The genuine desperation in his voice and on his face makes her feel bad that she's never met or seen anyone fitting that description.]

I haven't, sorry. Do you want some help looking for her?

[He looks disappointed, but kind of expected this answer. He does not want to inconvenience her, though, and shakes his head in response. There is hesitation there, though. It looks like his actions are not quite matching his thoughts.]

Ah... no, it's...

Just, if you see her, tell her Ganta is looking for her!

I'll do that.

[He looks so distressed that Jenna doesn't feel right leaving it at that, though. She puts a hand on his shoulder.]

Hey. Calm down, breathe. It's a big tower but there's no way out, right? She has to be around here somewhere.

[He blinks at the hand, then looks (very likely) up at her. He lets his brow furrow, a bit, before looking down at the floor.]

Yeah... you're right. [He glances back up at her.] What's your name?

[Jonouchi was just casually going about his business within the lodging of the 81st floor before another had barged in a rush.]

GAH! [The blonde stumbled back in surprise and fell over.]

[Ganta ended up falling backwards, a surprised expression immediately planting itself on his face. A disgruntled expression soon follows, however, before he even realized that the other person had fallen as well.

He blinked and immediately stood, reaching out a hand.]

S-sorry... about that... [He genuinely looked as though he felt bad. There was a hint of a flustered expression, as well, but that could wait long enough to make sure the stranger was alright.]

[Well it wasn't as if he sustained any injury from the fall. Overall he was okay. The blonde took the hand anyway and used it to pull himself up.] Don't worry about it.

Is something up?

[It's not everyday you run into a kid screaming a name. ~~Well here it might be?~~]

[He looks up at the person. Everyone in this place seems to be taller than him... Not that it's a surprise, considering he was pretty much the shortest person back in Deadman Wonderland. That's not important right now, though. What's important is...]

Y-yeah! I'm looking for someone! [He exclaims the words with a rather frantic tone.] She has white hair and red eyes and goes by Shiro!

Have you seen her?!

I haven't seen anyone by that description. [Hm. He'd tell the guy if he saw someone like that, but it was hard to contact people unless they were with you.]

Sorry.

[The fourteen-year-old let out a heavy sigh and scratched the back of his head. No luck, at all, so far... What if something bad did happen to her? His worried expression increases until he is putting a hand to his forehead. The other people had done well to keep him level-headed until now. But... it'd been hours and he hadn't seen any sign of her. Sure, the place was huge, but...

... Well, somehow, that made it worse. The not knowing was always worse.]

Damn it... [He muttered the next sentence under his breath.] ... I can't fucking take anymore of this place.

[He quickly wiped the hint of tears from his eyes, before turning away from the stranger.]

Uh... thanks anyway. I'm... gonna try somewhere else.

[He didn't want the blond to see him crying, is all. It wasn't anything personal, by any means.]

W-Wait! Don't go! [The blonde practically reached out for him.]

What's going on?!

[Jonouchi growing notably more concerned.]

[The sudden outburst from the other startled him into turning around and giving a confused expression. That was unexpected...]

I got... a package from... someone. [He wished he could figure out who sent it, at least.]

It had white hair in it... with blood all over it. And...

... Shiro has ...white hair, so... [He doesn't look like he's going to be holding up against not crying, very well. His shoulders are tensed and he is visibly shaking.]

Damn it... [He clenched both hands into fists.]

[Oh, that. He's heard about this, and it made him glad he didn't have a mailbox. He didn't want one.] The admins sent that...

[He paused for a moment.]

I'll help you look for her? If I find her [If he found her.] I'll leave a message on the network and let you know?

They did...? [There was a flash of danger in his eyes, and all sadness was just... gone. He'd just been given someone to focus his anger on. Now, he'd really do everything to find them...

He then blinked and looked up at the blond.]

I just don't understand, though. She was just... here. [He drops his head and sighs, scratching the back of his head.]

[His heart skipped a beat.] You're not...talking about the shadows are you?

[Those things...that took his friends identities. And he was even weak enough to fall victim to those liars. Jonouchi bared mixed emotions now.]

[Ganta's eyes widened a bit. Oh, god, no... that's not... what...]

H-hey, no, I wasn't talking about them..! I know what you're talking about, but, no...

I just meant she literally disappeared without a trace, as far as I know.

[He was giving an incredibly worried expression. Damn it, Ganta, good fucking job...]

[He calmed down a bit after being given clarification. Still, his demeanor was more serious than before.]

You don't think she left the tower do you?

[Ganta's expression clouded into sheer worry at that thought. Their world was gone, right? So if she left the tower, then...]

I... hope not. The... thing is, she did this sort of thing back in the p-...back home. She'd pop up out of nowhere, from the vent shafts. But she always checked in at least three times, a day...

[He had another reason to be worried, but he didn't care to be looked at like he's a monster, right that moment.]

I'll help you look for her.

You... you really will?

[He was giving a look of hope, clouded over by a hint of distrust. After all, it was easy to say you'll do something, then never do it. Ganta truly believed that most people lied.]

[It was true people lied, and there were a lot of liars back even in Jonouchi's world. He certainly wasn't one of them, and Ganta will come to learn that.]

This place is big and it's hard to cover it all by yourself. You know where the terminals are right? I'll leave you a message and we can meet up later.

... Oh. Uh...

[He had no idea where the terminals were and he looked down, scratching the side of his face. He thought for a moment. Heck, he didn't even know what the terminals were. He hadn't actually read the letter as well as he should have, so if it was in the letter, he didn't know.]

... I have no idea, actually, ... where the terminals are.

[A month here and he didn't know one of the most basic things.]

Well they kinda look like computers--they are computers. [He just wasn't sure what computers would look like in Ganta's world.]

There's a set of them near the dorms, and I know there are some on the third floor.

[He nodded. Computers on his world have holographic screens, and everything is practically touch screen. It's doubtful it's going to be the same thing.

He blinked at how close they've been this whole time.]

Oh, ...I see. Okay, thanks.

[It helped that Jonouchi narrowed it to certain floors then. Ganta would simply have to figure it out through process of elimination and he'll be golden.]

I'll let you know in an hour.

[He'll catch the other later, certainly!]

[He nodded to the time limit, then watched Jonouchi leave. He scratched the side of his face.

He felt a twinge of hope, but quickly pushed it away. His expression fell and he sighed, looking up to the ceiling. Shiro...]

... Where are you...?
