A sad smile crosses Diarmuid's face, "So in that, he is like me. He believes he could have always done something different--something better--and if so things would have turned out okay." He sighs and closes his eyes for a moment before reopening them, "Thank you. That is very important to know. I will do my best to be alert for it, but if you notice him slipping into that blaming mode before I do, please say something. While I might be familiar with the thought patterns of someone like that, we all have different tells when it comes to giving away our thoughts. You know him better than I do and, so will know those tells. He is your son, after all."

Diarmuid smiles for real then. There is something comforting in knowing that there are others who have opened their hearts like he has here. Even with the risks and the dangers.

"I will do my best to avoid mentioning Ganondorf, but I am afraid that at some point we will have to deal with it. Hopefully, we will be able to make some progress by then so that he will not react so badly, but there are no guarantees especially considering what terrible things are linked to him."
