[Collar Fluid Research] || [Open Mingle]

Characters: Anyone who's part of a science team!
Setting: Whichever floor your team is working on.
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer.

Summary: It's been two months and a half since the researches have started and they should come to an end by next month. At this point the scientists should be realizing they're getting somewhere, they just need more time to figure everything out. Because it'll end soon, this log is so every team can mingle and play out scenes of the research effort-- If that's not already been done!

The teams can all be found here. The list is not up to date, but it's a general idea of what the teams look like. Just, feel free to reply to the thread of the team you belong to! The threads may be backdatted, given the ongoing Sephiroth plot may make some character unavailable. As the team have to move a lot, there is no set floor so pick whichever one you want. If you'd like to participate, you can sign-up here!

Warnings: Absolutely nothing! Well, unless you decide to play out a monster attacking your team. Or if you are part of the Violet and Orange teams, maybe.

Violet Fluid Team
Indigo Fluid Team
Blue Fluid Team
Green Fluid Team
Yellow Fluid Team
Orange Fluid Team
Clear Fluid Team

Sure thing.

[Granted, he's not too pleased about the idea of Ganon catching on, but he could've very well done so at the meeting. At this point, hiding such crucial details from his research team might come back to bite him later.

So, after taking a deep breath, Riku straightens his stance and taps the side of his collar.]

Basically, there might be a way to remove the collars. Got some details from a friend after the whole time suspension mess, and the short of it's that there are styluses down in processing that can access a panel and get the things off...

[He snickers, pressing a hand on his hip.]

And my infiltration group might've snagged some.

To remove collars?

[This is incredible news. The information and the styluses could be invaluable.]

Well done. [The group responsible for such an act is deserving of praise.]

What other information do you have about these styluses? Do you know anything about the location or nature of the panel?

It's on the back of the neck.

[He points to that area for emphasis.]

Basically, the stylus activates the panel, and than you input a code. Do that, and the collar pops right off.

[He pauses briefly, and his expression darkens.]

Problem is, we only know how it works on dead bodies. Testing it on someone while they're alive means we'd have to find a volunteer and make sure the admins don't catch on.

[Sephiroth takes the information in, then stops to think about this. It doesn't take him long to arrive at a decision. It makes sense, and he values scientific research highly.]

I would like to volunteer.
keybearer: (uh.... huh?)

[personal profile] keybearer 2013-11-25 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that didn't take much.

[A soft laugh escapes him at the thought. It'd be easy to end it there, grab the styluses and give it a spin, but given some of what he learned at the meeting and his own skepticism...]

But I feel like we shouldn't rush through this, either. For one, I heard that the last time someone got their collar removed, their head exploded. That's something we'll need to consider when we do get around to tests...

[He shrugs, folding his arms.]

Still, that's pretty gutsy of you to volunteer. You sure you're okay with it?

It is a sensible decision. I am one of this team's researchers, yet I am not the leader. I have been trained to withstand severe physical and mental strain. I have also avoided attention from the administrators. I am not being watched as some others are. I can travel swiftly and avoid detection.

[He also has experience as an experiment and doesn't want to subject anyone else to that, although he doesn't say as much. He has already died three times, in his own world, before even coming here. He has experience.]

I understand the risks involved.

[It is possible that without his collar, he may not be revived. He understands that, too, but he is someone who has been responsible for untold suffering and many thousands of deaths. He can risk his life for others this time.]

You are correct, we should proceed reasonably and not rashly.

Huh. When you put it that way...

[How could he argue that? The fact is, somewhere down the line, they'd need a volunteer, be it a stolen worker unit or one of them. Maybe even both. Having someone ahead of time allows them to plan accordingly. It gives them a starting point.

So, Riku nods. Nothing wrong with planning ahead, even if he's still a touch skeptical.]

Just be careful who you share this info with, all right? Some of us, well...

[He breathes a rough sigh.]

Let's just say I'm not that chummy with Ganon and his buddies.
