There is none. Sam thought it, and he was pretty sure it was on his face, however, he himself hadn't done too much extensive research on that so he didn't say it. He kind of gave up on that angle once he started talking to the people in the tower.

As for the questions being about him, well... it's not like this was a police investigation. And Sam had already come to the conclusion that he didn't need to hide his job from people. The tower was probably all the proof they needed to know he was telling some kind of truth.
