Summary: Riki's offered a way to help keep the Tower powered a little longer. Obviously this is going to cause a lot of discussion and debate so let's CONSOLIDATE
Warnings: Nothing as of yet. Possibly eventually, so keep an eye on subject lines and I 'll try to change to reflect any developments

[No doubt Riki's announcement would be polarizing, but the instructions themselves were clear: Floor 1 at noon if you want to help out. And if you want to meet people, try to talk them in or out of it? Or hell, maybe even just talk about the revelation on who is behind those explosions? Well, this is as good a place as any for that too.

Just remember to be careful near the staircase]

You are? [He blinked, not too sure what to say to that. He had expected to have to defend his decision, not to have it accepted so fast.]

[Her head gives a little nod of her head, reaching back with her right hand to rub at the back of her neck.]

I am. Yes, I could sit here and tell you my thoughts on the matter, but there comes a point where I...guess I have to step back and not interfere with your decisions. I might not agree with your choice, but I will support it.

[He blinked again, and then moved forward and hugged her tightly] Thank you.

[Hugs. Hugs were nice. Hugs could say things that she couldn't find the ability to say. Like how she's worried to death that they'll get hurt, or worse. Or how she's wanting to just hoist them over her shoulder and carry them away so she an Reno can take their place. Or how, beneath all that concern, she's a little proud.]

.....You're welcome. [And she's returning his hug with one as strongly as she can despite the arm.] You know we'll be waiting for you two to come back. We'll stay her for as long as it takes.

[Shion nodded into her shoulder] I know... we'll be back, soon. I promise.

[provenworth]

Its not easy, you know. Standing back and doing nothing. I feel like maybe I'm not doing something right. I ought to be the one protecting you, not the other way around.

[Lifting her good hand, she rests the palm against the top of his head, fingers playing with stands of white hair.]

We'll be cheering for you. But don't forget, you'll have to give us both a debrief, good results or no.

It's okay, you are always protecting us. It can be the other way round for once. [He lets her play with his hair] Of course, we will make sure to report.

.....I guess it can be, can't it? Eventually we'd come to this point - I just didn't expect it to come so quickly.

[Though maybe she ought to have considering their position. He's certainly grown since she's returned to the Tower, but that didn't mean he'd ever outgrow a pat on the head.]

Well then, Shion of the Turks. I wish you the best on your mission. Remember everything Reno has taught you and you'll do fine.

Thank you. [He leaned forwards and hugged her] I will, look after Reno while we are away.

[Actions speak louder than words and so she lets them. The hug she returns is firm, but gentle, expression both her innate feelings of wanting to protect but knowing he's grown. He can do just fine. And that he would always have her support.]

You know I will. That man can be a handful, especially when he's worried about you and Xion. If I have to, I'll sit on his back and force him to relax.
