[ WOW this is a vaguely uncomfortable topic, but Link may as well. ]
... They drain whatever liquid is in them out of the collars and replace it. Trying to fight them doesn't do much good.
[ Not even sure what the heck these collars are for, but there are quite a few... guesses, and none of them were anything less than disconcerting. ]
