For science and curiosity-!!
Characters: Roxas, and hopefully not everyone ever because this is dangerous and dumb.
Setting: Starting on Floor 22 (the art gallery), and going between there, 23 (the missing floor), and 24 (the room that's empty 99% of the time).
Format: I'll follow you to hell and back. ;o
Summary: Roxas settles his mind with a good ol' fashioned bout of Must Solve Mysteries.
Warnings: He's experimenting with a floor that (unknowingly at the moment) erases you. And is going to a floor with a 1% chance of having a mass of shadowy death on it. Oh, and it's Roxas being grumpy. This is probably all I need to say.
Stressing over the earlier tower destruction and restructuring would have to wait; like the weird, pitch-black place, he pushed the incident aside and completely ignored the implications. If he started with the biggest problem, then he'd miss too many details. Trying to figure out little things first would give him a better platform from which to bring this entire building down-
Okay, so maybe he was beginning to notice he'd been more violent lately, and a little more careless to boot. That was why he was doing this in the first place- marching up from floor 22, stopping at 24, then turning around and marching back down. There was a floor here, he knew it somehow, and it was going to eat at him every time he went anywhere until he figured it out. So, why not take care of it now?

did someone say science
She'd paced away from that vista in particular, trying to follow the line of art style from painting to painting in hopes her favorite had been redone as a study from a different angle.
Then a several times familiar face resolutely stomped down the nearby stairs, and Fran stopped her wobbling pace to give a polite wave to Roxas. She'd heard similar footsteps from far away several times over when she was looking elsewheres, so she's rather curious to what he's up to.
"My, fancy seeing you again. Up to anything?"
sorry dude, i had to
The blond seemed determined to find something, Olette just wasn't sure what. But before she could speak, he'd turned around and headed downstairs again. She was struck with an urge to follow him, but something told her that if she stayed put, he'd be back; sure enough, he was, and this time she didn't wait before she spoke.
"Hello! What are you doing?"
also curiosity- wait they're the same thing to fran
"Um, sort of." He sounded tense, rubbing the back of his head and looking over his shoulder. Maybe focusing on the subject at hand would make him feel better- it was why he was here, after all.
"Have you noticed anything weird about these stairs?"
how dare you thread with me britt, you monsterrrrrr
"-Olette?!"
He wasn't...expecting...this. In fact, he spun around so quick to face her that his heel slid, nearly sending him toppling down the stairs. Even that didn't stop him from running closer, completely abandoning his task (for the moment, it is Roxas after all).
"Is that really you? Are you okay?" The stress was sort of seeping out of his words, but for the most part, cautiously. He didn't want to get his hopes up.
+w+
At the question, Fran tromps over to the stairs to examine them for oddities herself. There's nothing obviously amiss, but...
"The third one up is sagging."

It was with that trepidation that she reached the top of the stairs and stepped out unto the twenty-second floor just in time to see Roxas come down the stairs from the twenty-third floor... and then turn to go back up. It's not hard to surmise what he's doing, and although she might otherwise think it benign, she feels a chill run through her; his memories have already been tampered with significantly thanks to her, so what effect might the twenty-third floor have on them? The idea unsettles her, and so does the fact that she knows enough about him to have a feeling that that isn't the first time he's done that, which is why she stops short at the top of the stairs from the floor below the twenty-second and says, "Roxas--?"
nams i am sorry you're his babysitter
Roxas ceased his stormy stomping, blinking in confusion at Naminé's presence for a moment. He'd sort of gotten so in to what he was doing...weird.
He looked back at the stairs, giving a dry sort of chuckle that didn't have much feeling in it.
"Do you know what's up with this floor? It's so bizarre."
D:
Not what he meant, but Rox turned and found himself examining the stair. Being a KH Protagonist TM, he went to the third step and stomped on it, as if testing it's sagging-atude.
"...you might be right."
Huh. She had a good eye. Even if that wasn't what he'd meant at all.
accurate orz
"No, I don't." Her mind turns toward the stairs, but her eyes stay on him. "But whatever's going on, it might be dangerous." The 'I don't think you should be doing that' was implied.
i apologize with every fiber of my being D;
The probability of her having some sort of twin that shared the same name was incredibly low, she knew that much. So how...? Try as she might, she couldn't think of where she knew this boy from. He did remind her of Sora, or maybe Sora had reminded her of him...? But no, if she couldn't place his name, how could that be?
"Um..." She met his eyes, briefly, then looked down at herself. "I'm fine." She hadn't tripped and fallen and as of yet she hadn't died, but...
Her brows furrowed after a moment.
"...I'm sorry. But, have we met somewhere before?" She wasn't going to claim she didn't have a good memory. She knew she had a good memory, and if this boy actually knew her, he'd know that was a lie. She offered him a small, apologetic smile and met his eyes once more.

There was something beautiful about these painting, in some even familiar, and a small smile flickered over his face when he recognized one that definitely looked like their play island.
The smile disappeared when he turned around the corner and found himself surrounded with pictures of destruction, blood and one that showed him forever trapped in the Darkness and that most loathed form.
He abruptly turned away and walks towards the staircase - stopping just as suddenly when he sees a rather familiar blond enter the floor.
CHECK OUT MY LATE
"Uh...Roxas? What are you doing?"
