[003 ∆ sonata of awakening]
Characters: Majora's Mask Link ("Forest") and YOU
Setting: [01] Floor 32, the new forest [02] Floor 11, the waterfall floor, then everywhere [03] Floor 5, the monitor room
Format: I'll match you!
Summary: These three scenarios take place on different days after the discovery of the new Tower floors. The third scenario takes place after all the others. [01] Link is exploring the new forest floor... as a Deku. [02] Link is reminiscing and playing songs from home... and accidentally makes it rain throughout the Tower... Oops. [03] Link is watching destroyed Hyrule and Termina on the monitors and thinking.
Warnings: n/a, unless you want to slide "hero angst" in here, since it's pretty well inevitable

[ 01 ; floor 32 ]
There's a small wooden... boy poking around in the foliage on this floor. His head is large and round, and his mouth is also round and protruding, and his wide triangle eyes are yellow-orange and glowing and, somehow, sad. But he's also wearing an oversized green hat -- it's just about as big as he is! Not that that's saying much, really. He's not even three feet tall.
If you're exploring the new forest floor or doing some hunting or just enjoying the peace, you may hear some rustling nearby. If you turn your head, you might catch a glimpse of sad glowing eyes from behind the brush.
Or, you know. Maybe you hear a strange, trilling voice scream and see the wooden boy running from a bobcat.

[ 02 ; floor 11 / in the hallway on the way to a network computer ]
Song after song after song after song fills the air. Link's feeling... nostalgic. Maybe even homesick. Not that he'll admit it to himself right now. It's just been a long time since he's played the songs from his first adventure, so he wants to keep them in practice. He wants to keep the memories of Hyrule and his friends close. That's not a bad thing, is it?
... maybe it is. Because he's so wrapped up in the music, he doesn't think before he plays another song. To be fair, the magic in the rest of the songs doesn't work, so he kind of blanket assumed that none of it worked.
He doesn't notice the first flash of light because he's playing with his eyes closed. He assumes the following rumble is coming from elsewhere in the tower. When it starts to rain, he thinks it's just splash from the waterfall.
... and then he remembers he's not standing close enough to one.
Link's eyes fly open. It's raining. Thanks to the lack of walls on this floor, he can see the lightning. Oh, no! W-Well... The rain must just be isolated to this floor, he thinks, so it's okay. It'll be over in a little while. Embarrassed and a little ashamed, he makes his way to the staircase. He tries not to look at the people he passes by, because. So embarrassing. Pleasedon'tbemadathimhe'ssorry!
Whenever he finally reaches it, he finds out it's raining on the staircase, too. All of it. And it doesn't let up for another ten, fifteen minutes. He groans. He... He should probably make a public apology... With a sigh, he begins to trudge down the stairs to find a computer hooked up to the network.

[ 03 ; floor 5 ]
The worlds... are gone.
That's what the monitors show. That's what the people in charge of the Tower say. Link isn't sure he believes it. He doesn't want to believe it, but... He knows that time is a strange thing. It can be cruel, it can be kind... But it is a powerful force that nothing can escape, and it is a force that he can ask for help.
It's hard for him to believe that the worlds are gone.
He runs his fingers over the blue ocarina in his hands. Sacred instrument, imbued with the magic of the goddesses... Sacred music, given power by the bonds between teacher and pupil, between friends, between brothers, between servants and kings. He wonders if there are songs in the hearts of the people trapped in the tower, too. He wonders if those songs are something he could learn, that others could learn. Music brings people together. Music brings hope.
In such a hopeless place as this, where so many people fight against one another... He wonders if they can hear the songs in the hearts of those they fight. He is certain that there is at least one song they all share: a song of sorrow, of lamentation, of loneliness, because their homes and possibly friends and family may very well be gone, and there isn't anything they can do about it.
Even if the worlds are gone, does that mean they can't be returned?
He can't claim to know everything about gods and goddesses. He can't claim to know anything about different worlds. But a goddess is a goddess for a reason, right? If three goddesses could create a world and grant any wish imaginable... If a goddess will answer the prayer of a boy and rewind time for an entire world... Then...
Then, maybe, there's hope.
His hold on the Ocarina of Time firms.
Maybe there's something they can do after all.

sometime during Link's way to a computer
Fixing her hat, she goes to find whoever did this - and runs into Link on the way there.]
Oh - my apologies...
[... Oh - right. Links here aren't evil. ... Also he's tiny anyway; even if it IS her Link, he's much too young to be bad.]
... Do you know who caused the downpour on the staircase?
[She's trying not to sound pissed off or annoyed - but she's not as good at hiding her emotions as some people.]

I-I... I'm sorry, Princess... I played the Song of Storms, and...

My name is Zelda, but I am a Hero, like yourself.

... You understand what you did wrong, then?

And today, who does he spot? The Hero. The same one who tried to get his help on his first day in the tower. Slowly, loudly, Ganondorf walks to the monitors- And so, to Link. ]
A dead world...
[ He peeks through the monitor and shakes his head. Oh, and let's not forget who is guilty for their homeworld's fate. ]
... Abandoned by its Gods.

quietly,] Maybe they just didn't get a chance to do anything. Or maybe... whatever happened, it stopped them from acting.
I have a hard time believing they would abandon the world and people they created, after everything they've done to try and save it all.
no subject
They had something important to talk about... But first. Maybe it's time to crush the boy's dreams once and for all. Because Ganondorf just can't let anyone believe Gods had good intentions. ]
Do you know happened after you- Or rather your older self, defeated me and had me sealed in the Evil Realm, boy?

01; Floor 32, ACTION RESCUE YEAAAAH
How peculiar, she thinks as she descends the series of strange floating islands. How could they possibly-- what in Nayru's name is that sound? Is that... a Deku scrub?
Whatever it is, it's in trouble, and so Zelda's instincts take over. Dashing along their path, she lunges out to grab the wooden boy, holding him close as she rolls out of harms way. Though she doesn't stop there, instead making a break for the stairs.]
Are you... all right?
[Asked somewhat breathlessly as she runs.]

Princess?]
Y-Yeah! I'm okay, it just came out me out of nowhere --
no subject
... Not that she knows she's your princess, but whatever.]
Good.
[And that's all she days before reaching the staircase, climbing up a floor and out of harms way for now. Safe, she sets the wooden boy down before kneeling herself, taking a moment to catch her breath.]
Even these seemingly innocent floors have their dangers, it would seem.

When he walked in, he noticed one of the younger Links already there. The one he had promised to take under his wing as his guardian. He hasn't been doing a very good job, to be honest. It was time to change that.
He smiles softly and walks over, crouching down next to him.]
Hey.
no subject
How long had it been since he had seen the others...? The sleepover or the party, really. It feels like an eternity. He's been keeping himself busy with testing every single floor with every skill and ability he has, and he's lost touch with pretty well everyone. He shuffles his feet guiltily.]

some rainy stairway!!
GANGWAY THERE IS A KID SLIDING DOWN THE STAIRS!!
AKA water, so what
He's using this as a chance to get some playtime in; he's got his Deku Leaf out, and is using the highly resiliant foliage to slide down the stairs like a bobsled - except oh shit no Forest don't start climbing the stairs -]
F-Forest, look out!
no subject
Okay okay he has to time this right. The stairway isn't wide enough for him to move out of the way, and he could try plastering himself against the wall, but --
He stands on the stairs, braces himself
and does an acrobatic flip into the air to attempt to jump up and over Sea's head as the younger Link zooms by.]

What're you doin' in all this water, Forest?
It's pretty neat, but you don't really look like the kind of person who likes getting wet!
