Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows--
Characters: closed-- KH cast HOLLAAAA
Setting: Back dated to April 8th; Floor 20, the tower ramps, Floor 11.
Format: I'm starting in action but whatever's comfortable.
Summary: Derps and derpettes attempt to rescue an even bigger derpette from a locked chest at the top of the towers ramps during a storm. Meanwhile, Ventus gets a refresher on why Vanitas is simply irresistible.
Warnings: Violence, character death-- more as we need 'em.
FLOOR 20
[It's not all that reassuring to step out into the rain, immediately finding yourself soaked head to toe as a light, icy breeze seems to sink right into your bones. So high up, the cloud cover is immense; it's foggy, eerily quiet as the team prep themselves for the inevitable fight to come.]
[After all, knowing Vanitas? There will be a fight soon.]
FLOOR 11 (Currently locked to all cast aside from Ventus)
[...Just, not where most are expecting it. Vanitas could care less about what happens to Xion, from this point; or her would be rescuers. Typical, that the 'heroism' shown doesn't extend farther than rushing off to a fight.]
[In contrast to the miserable weather Floor 20 seems to be exposed to, the worst Vanitas has to deal with is a fine mist, seeping through the air everytime the wind blows it through the room itself. Vanitas himself stands off to the side, stairs obscured, absurdly enough, by one of the never fading rainbows as it arcs itself between one water source to the next. Idly, he's wasting his time by throwing his keyblade at the roof, enjoying the sizzle as his darkness incense blade burns away the local flora.]
[Nothing to do but wait. After all, Ventus is coming to him.]

FLOOR 20
no subject
He's already summoned Soul Eater, grip tight as he narrows his eyes at the mist and darkness lurking within it. That guy... Vanitas... surely he can't be too far off.]
hoping this is okay!
It doesn't matter that it's pouring down rain. Sure he's not dressed for the weather, but since when has that ever stopped him?
Right now, they need to stay focused and keep their guards up.
And, naturally, he'll be keeping close to the others for good measure. 'sup, guys?]
no subject
Hey, [says Sora's voice.] She's here somewhere, right?
no subject
He looks up in surprise when he hears his own voice, surprised for a minute to see the figure in the coat. It hits him who it is, though - the person that looked like him. The one who ran away when he tried to talk to them.
Now wasn't really the time to ask them who they were, though, or for an explanation. That could happen later, right? So Sora just nods, looking over the entire group...
Between all of them, they'd find her in no time.]
Yeah. She's gotta be.
FLOOR 11 PART 1 (LOCKED)
I wasn't told anything about candy
In his haste, he completely forewent the eleventh floor's staircase, jumping from just below the threshold to the twelfth floor and onto the ground.
It didn't take him that long to notice.] --What do you want, Vanitas?
[Why are you still here?]
I never said the candy was for you
[And then Ventus is here, and everything just clicks into place. Every step Vanitas takes is intentional, purposefully setting him closer and closer to the blonder as he speaks.]
To teach you a lesson.
[No warnings, no time to prepare. Vanitas tenses, slightly; and that's about the only warning Ventus will have before the other is right behind him, blade swung with more force than necessary towards the small of his back.]
C'mon didn't anyone ever teach you sharing is caring
Not that he didn't get away completely unscathed-- there was definitely a scratch or bruise on his back, but adrenaline didn't let him think about that right now. When his roll finished, he spun around and summoned his keyblade, a glare on his face.] Sorry, but I have a hard time thinking I could learn anything from you.
[And he sprung forward, swinging his keyblade up from the side.]
Nope. My mother abandoned me as a child. 8|
[Their keyblades collide with enough force to send a shock of vibrations up his arm; he doesn't even give himself time to notice. Never one to stick to simply using his blade, Vanitas whirls; metal slicing down at Ventus' shoulder as he sends a pillar of ice shooting upwards beneath the other's feet.]
You have darkness now; isn't that right? So why don't we see how long it takes to control it.
[Ventus is vulnerable; heavy handed and emotional. It won't take him long to simply get caught up in what he's feeling, and give Vanitas the advantage. He had a nice big to leverage, if he needed it.]
You probably have no friends to share with anyway
I've had darkness long before you even existed. [His hand gripped on the Keyblade; he knew how, sure, but before he had always been scared to use anything more than the basics he had been taught. Still, the basics were still pretty strong.]
I don't need you to show me how to control anything!
