Summary: The event is over and everyone who was stuck in the dorms needs a serious bath.
Warnings: Post-event shenanigans? Also baths so p much everyone is at least partially naked.

And so now that you've made your way free of the hell that is the dorm rooms -

This floor mimics a sauna--there are three entrances: one for men, one for women, and one for mixed. Inside each room is the wooden interior one would expect. Outside each area is a small changing room with lockers--if you look, you'll find one with your name on it. The locker will only open up for you. It might be a good place to store things, actually...

- it's time for everyone to take a bath! There's both hot, steamy stalls and large hot spring pools - but you'd better hurry! It's gonna get crowded in here kind of fast.

And hey, keep that towel closed, there's children in here!

[Eventually, Reno stopped lurking about Floor 38 to take a long, needed break. The sauna had seemed like a great pit stop, especially after being cooped up with six other increasingly stinky people for about a week, give or take a few days.

And it had a locker with his name on it, too. That was handy! And towels!

He walked into the Mixed set, towel neatly tucked around his waist so that it wouldn't fall, an extra one over his shoulder. Not really noticing Asch at first, he stepped into the nearest bath and sunk into it, dipping his head with it's freshly cut short hair under to get it wet and slicked back.

Now this was worthwhile.]

[Spoilers, it's a redhead party. Asch glances up at the sound of footsteps, just to see if it's anyone he should be worried about, but figures Reno, unarmed is probably not a threat. He doesn't look back over until the sound of moving water quiets.]

If dying was good for anything, it's that the place isn't crowded.

[Hey, maybe now that they're both uninjured, they can have something resembling a normal conversation. Right?]

[At first, the only response Reno makes in Asch's general direction is a nonverbal grunt, spreading out his long limbs in the water and stretching.]

...Yeah, guess there was a real rush down here yesterday. Least I don't have that goddamn infection anymore.

[Not that he had let on that his arm was that bad off, considering who they had been rooming with.]

Oi. What was that guy's name again?

[Well, Asch won't argue dying as a backhanded method of healing - it was how he fixed his shoulder wound, although that dying had hardly been intentional. He hates mermaids.

At the second question, the relatively relaxed look on his face sours. Somehow he doesn't think Reno is talking about Enoch.]

Most properly, Vandedelsca Musto Fende. But "Van" serves well enough.

Van, huh...

[Yeah, Enoch was pretty harmless considering, but he would deal with that one later.]

Asch, how are ya at fighting? Didn't really get a good look back there.

[There's reasons he's asking these questions. Reno isn't the kind to forget easily, especially when it came to his people.]

I've essentially been in the military since Van kidnapped me when I was a child.

[So, not as good as Van is, but damn good.]

[Now this was interesting. Reno sat up a bit and glanced over at the other man, tilting his head a bit.]

Figured you had some sort of grudge against him. Y'know, he's gonna have to pay for what he did back there.

It's the least of the things he needs to account for.

[Reno, you have no idea, man. Asch slides a little further into the water and simmers.]

[Here he pauses a bit, splashing the water around with a lazy motion.]

I don't consider gettin' Xion and Sheba killed the least, but I'm kinda biased.

Two people, no matter how important, hardly compare to an entire planet.

[The statement is rather flat.]

He didn't succeed, but he did give it his best shot.

[An entire planet. Where has he heard that before?

That got him briefly wondering if Asch is another clone, like Axel.]

That kinda guy, huh. He's not a wannabe demi-god or anything?

[Don't ask about clones Reno.]

Only insofar as that was the most efficient way to accomplish his plans.

[Look spiritually eating the ball of magic particles that is the closest thing they have for a god totally counts. Especially when you're the final boss.]

He wanted to destroy the prophecy running Auldrant, and decided the most effective way was to destroy everyone and everything that had ever heard of it, and replace them by laying a replica crust over the top.

Huh, unusual MO, but nothing surprising. Seems like one of the criteria for getting shoved in this place is some kind of weird shit threatening the world.

[Yeaaaah, way too jaded with the destroying the world bit.]

I can't hold the guy to those actions, because I'm outta the picture there, but I can for what shit he pulled back there. You up for it?

[What Tower oldbie isn't? The question - well, it's not a smile, by any means, but Asch's humour still picks up measurably.]

If I wasn't here, I'd be dead trying.

[Knowing your fate kiiiiiind of sucks sometimes.]

[Sinking into the water until it comes up to his chin, Reno huffs.]

That makes another one. 's getting depressing.

[The hot water helps a lot, though, relaxing where he'd otherwise be tense.]

But ya didn't answer my question. I'm going after Van.

[He was willing to give his life trying once, after all.]

Too bad there's no more permanent solution.

[Ah. He gets it now. Asch was a hero, someone that'd die to protect his planet.

Maybe someone Reno wanted on his side, but not just yet. There's still a lot to learn about the guy.]

Making him suffer a bit is the best we can get here. Wouldn't mind kicking him in the balls a few hundred times.

[Hardly a hero. Just someone who liked better the world they had over the one Van planned on creating.

His voice is bitter.]

It's about time he got his share of it.

Glad I can count on ya. I'll introduce you to Elena later, she's gonna be leading the "effort."

[He gave a short snicker under his breath.]

Shall I rouse the troops?

[He's only half kidding. There are plenty of people from Auldrant with a grudge against Van, and a handful more who would - for some reason - fight for his sake.

They could really make the man's life hell, if they moved. If Van had been willing to work for the good of people, as he'd so often claimed, that would have been one thing. But Van had made it clear that it would be his way or no way at all, and Asch would happily skin the man instead of letting him lead. It was a practical matter, and if he took a little too much pleasure in it, that was just how things were.]

Not just yet. Need to have a plan in mind before starting a mission.

[Reno didn't mind being flexible, but there's a certain way to work that he was used to. 'Sides, the blindly charge ahead bit never seemed to work for him.]

"Tactical practicality" and "strategic planning," or some crap like that. Find out what we got to fry him with.

If preference counts, I'd like to burn him. Someone somewhere is bound to appreciate the irony.

[Probably not Van himself, though.]

Fire gets messy, lightning burns and it's a damned lot more invasive. Any particular reason?

The name he took from me means "the light of the sacred flame."

[Reno already knows the name he goes by now, the one van gave him. The sound of it makes the simplest meaning easy to figure out.]
