The room 1-20 hadn't seen that much excitement despite its interesting variety of tenants, but that would all change today.....

[England looks up. Oh, it's another of those...trolls? He's pretty sure they're called trolls. He's only ever talked to any of them in passing, but he's heard others mention them. Their appearance and the abundance of them is fascinating -- not like any trolls he's ever heard of -- but he's thus far been able to contain himself regarding looking into them.

He glances down into his cup briefly.] Chamomile tea. [A simple, short answer; he's not sure if the trolls know much about tea or not, but he doesn't want to make assumptions and potentially insult the boy's intelligence.]

[He's never heard of such a drink, but his interest has been piqued and he now has no choice but to walk over and look into England's cup from a respectable distance. The scent was, somehow, even stronger now. It smelled really good. Some kind of drink, very warm by the looks of it... yeah, he doesn't have anything called chamomile tea on Alternia.]

[England allows the young troll to peek without offense, considering he's a different species and all.]

Tea in itself is most often made with leaves of a plant. The leaves are crushed and put into water. Most teas nowadays are made with dry leaves and are placed into a filter-like bag that draws out the flavor, but keeps the leaves separate from the water. Though some are made from different parts of the plant, like stems, fruits, or flowers. This particular tea is made with the chamomile plant.

[He holds up his cup a little to indicate it.]

You can add a great number of things to it to change or sweeten the taste, like sugar, milk, or honey.

[He's listening intently; this 'tea' sounds delicious. How did he not think of that? How did the entire trollian species not think of that?! Suddenly he feels vastly inferior to the squishy pink meatbags that he had created. It wasn't a very good feeling. ...But he's snapped out of it by the last sentence.]

You have never tasted mind honey, correct?

[Good thing he has a few jars left.]

[He should go make friends with canon!Nepeta if she ever comes around.

England lowers his mug with polite intrigue.] I have not. Is there a marked difference between it and conventional honey?

Yes. It is much, much better than conventional honey. [He gets up and heads over to the trunk again, filtering through several jars until he finds a small container of mind honey and a spoon. He sets both of these things on the end table next to England's bed.] Try it if you like.

[He sets down his cup so that he can peek discreetly into the honey. He's...pretty durable, as a nation, but his biology is still human at the core of it all, so he's a little worried for what this could do to him not that he should be, he has to have a digestive system of steel from eating his own horrible cooking all the time.

However, he is a gentleman, so he will give it a try. But, not without attending to his manners!] You may help yourself to a cup of tea, if you'd like. Sugar and milk are on the tray, as well. [No honey, though. He couldn't find any in the kitchen and there was definitely none in his trunk.

With that taken care of, he scoops a bit of the mind honey from the jar with the spoon and gingerly takes it into his mouth. Hopefully he won't explode or anything.]

Thank you. [He sets to work preparing something for himself, keeping an eye on England the entire time.]

[But yeah. Mind honey has been consumed in spades by all other species of troll -- and several humans -- without the ill effects; it's just the yellowbloods with psychic powers who are negatively affected by it. Otherwise, it's just a good ingredient for... well, anything really. And possibly this 'tea' as well.]

[Equius remains standing, hovering a little ways away from England as he slowly -- very slowly -- takes the first sip of the tea. It's not scalding hot, but not at the temperature that it could be easily hulped down, either.]

[And, you know, it's not that bad.]

[England waits a moment. And, after his tongue doesn't start melting or anything, he swallows the small dollop of honey. And then waits another moment.

...that's actually really good. Comparable to the highest-grade honey he's tried back home, perhaps even better. So, he voices his thoughts:] That's brilliant.

[He then glances back to Equius, to see how he's handling the tea. He knows his cooking has made people sick -- to no fault of his own, of course! -- but his tea is always top-notch.]

[He kinds of stares ahead for a few seconds, then looks back at England, nodding.] I share the sentiments... this is fantastic. Congratulations. [So he's basically using you as an earpiece for the entire human race, England. Tea = good.]

[...Tea + mind honey = ???]

[So he takes some of the honey himself and spoons it in, taking another sip. Oh man. It does not get better than this, seriously.]

[Well this is going much better than he expected it to. He'd heard that the trolls could be a bit...violent. This one doesn't seem to be so, however.

He inclines his head in a brief nod of gratitude.] Thank you. I'm afraid I don't know everything there is to know about the art of preparing tea, but I've certainly been doing it long enough to know many of the particulars.

[...and then he seems to have the same thought as Equius. He, too, takes a spoonful of honey to put into the remainder of his tea, and after it's mixed in, sips delicately at it.
