AGONY! I Destroyed the World?!

Characters: Lina Inverse and you!
Setting: Room 1-05, dorm halls.
Format: Prose to start, will follow if you want it different.
Summary: Lina wakes up and puts two and two together to equal potato. Also, this is going on amidst all the stuff with the chocolates, so feel free to make her a target.
Warnings: Lina herself merits a warning, especially when distraught. And she's very distraught.

Lina snaps awake once the sleep paralysis wears off, then stumbles around the room for a few moments while she attempts to get her bearings. This... This wasn't where she was. This wasn't Sairaag.

There wasn't any kind of obvious noise or anything that gives the indication she was anywhere nearby, either - Copy Rezo's use of Zanaffar's power would definitely be able to be felt if she was near the battle still. However, a quick look out the window prompted Lina to remember what Sylphiel had told her - that the Giga Slave, the spell she had been casting before waking up here, could destroy the world. And that world outside the window didn't look like much of anything.

Was this Hell? Had she actually botched the spell when Sylphiel tried to stop her...?

No. That can't be right, can it? Lina shook her head, taking a steadying breath before running toward the door. "GOURRY! ZELGADIS! AMELIA! SYLPHIEL!"

There may not be such a thing as a 'normal' day in the tower, but Yosuke certainly hadn't been expecting a young lady to come careening towards him down the hallway. It's enough to set him on alarm - he even slips the headphones from his ears down around his neck as he tries to get her attention with a wave.

"Hey, what's the matter?" he asks, though there's one thought at the forefront of his mind.

Please, no more creepy flamboyant demons... I can't take another one.

Lina skids to a stop at the waving fellow - who was dressed kinda odd to her - and wondered how the guy could be so... casual.

Did he not know what was going on? Or did he, and he was the cause for her being in this place? Clearly, it was time to demand some answers.

If Yosuke allows it, she'll reach up and grab his shirt with one hand. "What's the big idea, bringing me here, huh?! I've got a world to save!"

He certainly isn't expecting that, and he finds himself thoroughly grabbed by tiny girl exploding with the energy of a fireball. Shock and bewilderment quickly change to a mixture of relief and sadness. So that's the issue. And now that he knows what the issue is, he can at least try and respond intelligently.

"Woah, hold on a second! I get that you're freaked out and upset, but think about it. Would the evil mastermind behind this place really be wandering the hallways with his captives around while listening to music?"

The short redhead doesn't care for that attitude, though it's more due to her frustration with the situation than anything. "I don't know! The last one I ran into was going around the world pretending he was a benevolent priest, so it's entirely possible!" Her grip on the shirt tightens, and she raises up on her toes to get a little closer in height to Yosuke. "Where are we, how far are we from Sairaag, and how do I get back?!"

Is this really happening?

What exactly has he done in life that's led to him being threatened by a diminutive redhead in the middle of a hallway? And why does he feel a growing urge to shield his nuts from harm? He can blame Chie for that last one, but for everything else, he has no answer.

As for Lina, he reaches a hand up and points at his own collar.

"A tower, I have no idea where that is, and if I knew I wouldn't be here with this on. Now if you'll stop with the abuse I'll explain what I can, alright?"

You crossed paths with Lina Inverse while she was angry, that's what. A simple victim of circumstance, like anyone who happens to be in a restaurant with her and someone smashes her table or spills her food.

Lina's expression softens, but just a bit. She does let Yosuke go, however, because now she's conscious of her own collar. She reaches up and tugs on it, which leaves her frustration high. "Why do I have some stupid collar on? I don't have time for this!"

"And I don't want to be dragged around by my shirt, but here we are." The words are out of his mouth before he can stop himself, but that's par for the course for Yosuke. Still, he realizes it's something he shouldn't have said so glibly to someone who just got here, and he sighs at himself.

"I promise, I'll try and explain everything. Just take a few breaths and calm down, alright? Unless you plan on beating me up or making out with me, we're not getting anywhere like this."

"Yeah, well, first person I see in a weirdo place like this, I had to get info outta you somehow..."

Unfortunately, Lina's not on the path to calming down, especially with what Yosuke says. Lina's face reddens, and she glares up at him. "Make out?! Why the hell would I do that?!"

Part of Yosuke wants to laugh at how embarrassed she gets by the suggestion. Another part feels a little guilty at making the joke, and a third part wonders how afraid of a beating he should be. Oh well, it's out there now. Too late to worry.

"You're holding me by my shirt. So you're either about to take a swing or pull me in for a kiss. Those are the two logical thoughts, right?"

Lina grits her teeth for a moment before letting Yosuke go - possibly shoving him back in the process. "Not really! Some girl who doesn't know you and wants to know where she is isn't quite in the market for makeouts!" She folds her arms and huffs. "Now, you were sayin' about explaining things?"

He stumbles back but catches his balance fairly quickly, feeling both amused and a little guilty for it. After all, he's not about to drop good news on her. Taking a deep breath, he wipes the smile from his face to try and treat the matter with the seriousness it deserves.

"I'll tell you everything I can, but you won't like it. I'm guessing from the questions you're asking you didn't either see or didn't read the note by your bed, right? It's easy to miss, so I can't blame you. Or do you just not believe it?"

"Note?" The sorceress pauses for a moment to think back, then shakes her head. "No, I didn't see one." Ignoring that she kind of just barged on out of the room after waking up and didn't think to look around - can't really go admitting that to a complete stranger.

Her temper isn't completely defused yet, either - she fixes Yosuke with an accusing look. "What kind of weirdo put me in a bed in different clothes and is leaving me notes, huh?"

He responds with his own look, one that just says 'really?' before answering.

"Seriously? Look, you're cute, but not cute enough to turn me into an inter-dimensional kidnapper slash pervert. If I knew who was in charge, I would've kicked their ass by now and gone home." He sighs and puts a hand to his forehead.

"Whoever's doing it says they're 'saving' us because our worlds are destroyed. I don't believe it... but I can't exactly prove it's a lie either."

The cuteness comment gets a hefty amount of side-eye, but Yosuke's lucky in how he worded it - she wouldn't want to draw that kind of attention, after all.

However, Lina's expression turns to one of confusion at the explanation. "Destroyed...?" That look lingers, then fades back into anger and frustration. "Why the hell would they save me?! I was trying to keep that from happening!"

"Like I said, I think they're lying. I don't think we were 'saved' at all - it feels way more like a kidnapping to me. I just can't prove a damn thing yet." He sighs in frustration, both at the situation in general and himself specifically. How long now has he been telling himself that he'll get off his ass and get an exploration team together? How long as he promised himself to actually DO something?

Too long, considering he's yet to follow through with a single thing. The thought brings some uncomfortable truths to mind, but he tries to shove them into the back of his head.

"Kidnapped?!" Lina growls, ruffling her hair a bit with both hands in annoyance. "I don't have time for this! But..." She stops, looking at him and her mood shifts positive, and a grin crosses her face. "Well, you're in luck! I'm real good at finding things when I'm motivated!"

He manages a grin of his own, though he can only wish he felt the enthusiasm she seems to have.

"Yeah? Well, then maybe my luck's finally turning around. But before you go charging off, there's a few other things I should mention. Any powers or abilities or crazy shit you can do is a little limited. There are some places in the tower where things just don't work, and some monsters wandering around that seem to take powers away if they get too close."

And pfffbbbthththt, Lina deflates a bit, her shoulders slumping as Yosuke explains this.

"Greeeeat," she says, obviously annoyed. "Can't bust loose everywhere, and stay away from monsters." She huffs, folding her arms. "And I guess we can't just blast a way to the jerk in charge, huh?"

So much for her confidence, but Yosuke keeps the smile on his face. He's always been good about keeping up morale.

"If you want to try I wouldn't mind giving a hand, but I don't think it's worked for anyone else. I've been trying to think of a way to gather more information, but the ideas I've got are... terrible, at best."

"Well, if I'm good at anything, it's blowing stuff apart. And sometimes terrible ideas wind up being the best ones - or at least the ones that save your butt."

Even if you don't know how bad an idea it was until later on...

"Or, sometimes terrible ideas are just terrible. But, you've got a point. Every once in a while, they work out for the best. Tell you what - when I'm ready to give it a try, I'll let you know. Sound good?"

Lina nods. "Sounds like a plan," she answers, then glances down at herself. "...am I stuck wearing this thing, though? It's a little too fitting for my taste."
