First Memory ☄ Open

Characters: Yuuto, and whoever wants to come bother the new arrival.
Setting: Starting in room 2-02, and then to the hallways.
Format: Either. I'm starting off with prose.
Summary: Yuuto goes exploring because like hell he's going to stay here.
Warnings: None. For now.

Voluntarily ending up in somewhere unfamiliar was pretty common for Yuuto. He had the means to travel anywhere-- and to any time. On the other hand, waking up somewhere unfamiliar with no recollection of how he ended up there was not. One thought ran through his mind-- had he finally used one too many Zeronos cards?

Regardless, here he was, on a bed, in a room, and right now he was reading one of the letters he received. His eyes widened at reading that his world had been destroyed, and he chose not to read any further. Instead he crumpled up the paper and threw it on the ground, and walked to the chest at the foot of his bed with a frown, hoping that it contained something useful.

Luckily, it did.

A quick change of clothes later, Yuuto was ready to head out and get answers... or to possibly force his way out. Whichever came first.

"Hi!" Minami says as she passes him in the hall. Staying still in the Tower made her uneasy so she tended to do rounds through every floor to get to know the lay of the place. It was down the hall from his room she'd run into him and, well, she liked to talk to people.

Her world may or may not be gone, but it can't hurt to get to know people and make new friends.... right?

Yuuto stops for a moment when he hears her say something and just... looks at her. Maybe even raises an eyebrow.

He's really not the friendly sort, so he gets straight to the point.

"How do I get out of here?"

Okay, she ran into a newbie. Figures. Minami has always hated being the bearer of bad news, but seeing as she was the one to say hi first? She'll have to tell him.

"Ummm...." she scratches the back of her head awkwardly, "You kind of can't? At least, no one's found a way out yet, but they're looking!"

That's not what he needs or wants to hear. Her answer worries Yuuto a bit. If there was any truth to his world being destroyed, he had to see it for himself. The only way to do that was to get out of here, and back to the ZeroLiner.

"And how long have they been looking for one?"

He didn't like the idea of being trapped.

"A while, I think? I've only been here a couple weeks myself and already the people running this place aren't giving anyone straight answers. It's impossible to tell if the letters we got are even telling the truth, to be honest."

All the worlds she'd seen represented couldn't be gone. They just couldn't! Even if Minami feared in her heart of hearts her own was gone--she had an inadvertent hand in it, after all--it didn't mean all these worlds were gone!

"The Tower itself is pretty dangerous, too. There's a lot of floors that just don't make any sense and creatures running around who are.... well, you shouldn't stray from the staircases too much if you don't know how to defend yourself."

Yuuto hopes that the letter is a terrible joke. He looks at the girl, and doubts that there is any reason for her to lie to him, although his expression never changes. This is a building. There has to be an exit somewhere.

He listens to her as she continues to speak. When she mentions that there are creatures running about, he can't help but let out a bitter chuckle. Of course there were creatures running around. His mind flashes to the Zeronos cards that are in his pocket at the moment. Ten of them, for however long he would be here.

"Don't worry about me, I can defend myself," he says to her, folding his arms across his chest. "What kind of place is this? You're making it sound like it isn't safe."
