Summary: Dolorosa is working with some textiles when she gets interrupted?
Warnings: Possible violence and chocolate plot business.

[ Dolorosa had been working on this dress for a couple weeks now, collecting what scraps she could that fit her needs, but they weren't always easy to come by. It was the veiled cape that had been the most difficult, but she'd finally found the right material, and had gotten the dye to properly take.

It was almost finished, and soon she would't have to continue wearing this silly jumpsuit any longer. It only needed one last addition: her sign. It had been sweeps since she'd last worn it, or even been allowed to see it, but she ever forgot its shape, and so making the thread follow her whims until it took form was accomplished without mistake, and only the slightest pause.

It was a form of therapy, this dress. A reclamation of her identity. Within the hour, once properly garbed, she would once again be fully herself. ]

It may in fact be so common as to be largely unnoticed among trolls, in fact. Very few of our kind practice any kind of consideration beyond their own person. It is enough to lead one to believe empathy could be an aberration.

I didn't exactly make a point of talking with a lot of the trolls back home if I could help it, but they certainly do their best to make themselves a fucking nuisance most of the time.

Then it should seem to be a common quality among all of those whom you have thus far referred to.

More like they were repeatedly harassing me despite being told fuck and no more times than I can count.

So, I suppose humans have been discovered Alternia in the future, then. Which is curious, as I had never encountered one until my arrival here.

More like trolls have discovered computers with the ability to instant message across time and space. I've never seen the damn planet and I honestly don't ever want to.

Given the passage of time, it isn't beyond credulity that technology would progress as well. The children from my world seem far more proficient in the communication devices staggered throughout the Tower than I.

That doesn't say much. The shit in the tower aren't exactly state of the art to begin with.

Yet it remains highly advanced in comparison to what I have been previously exposed to. I wasn't certain of their purpose until I thought to inquire on the topic.

[she shrugs] You weren't exactly missing out, considering the bullshit that's usually on the network.

Oh, they're only telegraphing their thoughts as the method allows them.

[restitchtime]

Stupid shit should be kept to themselves, no matter what fucking method they're using. Nobody needs to hear useless crap like that.

Well, you aren't being forced to witness it, either. Any participation you offer is optional.

Not really. If somebody doesn't try to prune the endless spew of stupidity then it'd be impossible to find the few good nuggets of talk.

Ah, so you actually accept that such a selection is possible! I'll admit my surprise. But shouldn't the effort in seeking it make the discovery all the sweeter?

Not really. All it does is emphasize how fucking stupid everyone else is when you've got to do the online equivalent of climb a goddamn mountain to find decent commentary.

Luckily, I have never encountered another setting than online where climbing a mountain would be so easily accomplished.

I'd rather take the actual damn thing. At least I'd feel accomplished when I got to the top.

The rare interaction you might actually enjoy wouldn't be prize enough? Have you ended your attempts to converse via the terminals, then?

Not compared to the shit I've got to wade through just to find it. And I'm still on there, but mostly because it's easier to mine for useful people than just roaming the halls like a mental patient.

Well, then perhaps we should see if a mountain can be installed for your recreation instead.

Considering all the other impossible topography in the fucking tower it's probably less having one put in and more just finding which damn floor it's on.

I imagine we would notice one extending from the ground of the meadow, but then I have yet to view the tower's spire. It may very well be topped by just such a precipice.

Probably made of the corpses of all the assholes who've already died in here, knowing this place.
