[.006] ----------- [OPEN]
Characters: Naminé (
lethechained) and EVERYONE
Setting: The entire tower, any of a few floors.
Format: Any
Summary: Naminé's powers are out of control. This is a dangerous thing for everyone in the tower.
Warnings: Minds being crushed, memory manipulation, illusions, possibly violence and psychological trauma. Also, one rather upset young lady.
[Something bizzare is afoot.
Throughout the week, several anomalies will be occurring in the tower. One of the most noticable of these is the spontaneous opening and closing of strange, dark portals which some might recognize as Corridors of Darkness, which, when passed through, can send the traveler anywhere in the parts of the tower that are accessible by its captive occupants. Another of the more obvious goings on is the new rather concerning tendency for places, things, and even people to suddenly look like something else, even something markedly different. This change is an illusion and not permanent, but it's a very convincing illusion indeed. Also rather disorienting is the sensation that something is calling one from somewhere or another; whether or not anything is actually waiting for them should they choose to investigate varies. The more observant or magically and/or psychically inclined might discover that it feels as though someone or something is creeping through their mind/heart from time to time.
Less noticable but considerably more dangerous are the changes in one's memories that could happen at any time. Memories might be rearranged, replaced, or removed entirely. New memories, memories of things that never happened, or even copies of someone else's memories might also make an appearance. Worse still is the possibility of one's (metaphysical) heart collapsing in on itself, leaving them little more than a vegetable.
The source of all of this mess is a young lady who will be spending as much of her time this week as possible hiding away, trying her hardest to keep her malfunctioning powers in check. She's not having much luck, and those who run across her might find a rather distressed Naminé tucked away somewhere like the library or the maze.]
(( ooc: This is intended to be an open log for both interaction with Naminé and general shenanigans that might be caused by her powers. For details, please refer to this post. ))

I... it's not me I'm worried about.

He just shoves his hands in his pockets, tilting his head to the side. Okay... Did he want to keep bothering her? Yeah, she seemed to be pretty distraught. Now that he's here, it seemed too rude to just walk off now.]
Huh? What are you worried about? [Might as well bite the bullet.] I mean, you seem to be pretty scared about something. Did someone fuck with you? [Because that would be pretty rude.]
no subject
[What is she worried about? She glances back up at him, hesitating. How is she supposed to explain it? She's spent so long trying to keep under the radar about her... rather unique abilities that, even now, when others are at risk because of them, she's not comfortable with the idea of discussing them.]
... They did something to my collar, and now I'm-- not right.
Sorry for the late reply;;;
You mean the swapping stuff? They did that to me too, but it doesn't like it affected me as much.
You...gonna be alright though? I mean, you don't look too good.
No problem /o/
... I'm glad that you're okay. [She does mean it. Now, if only she could say the same for herself and the people her powers can, have already, or will hurt.]
[As for that other thing, she hesitates, then works out a perfunctory smile.] ... I'll be alright. [She doesn't feel so good, either, but this doesn't seem like the sort of thing the tower would keep, so surely it'll clear up eventually... right?]

[He wonders now how the swap affected everyone, since it seemed to change extravagantly to each degree.]

[It's-- kind of him, she thinks. She's pretty sure he's one of the Daves; she remembers meeting Davesprite and hearing from him that there were others like him, and they look similar enough (disregarding the lack of orange sprite-yness, of course, but that's where the 'sprite' part comes from, right?) So she's not as wary of him as she might be of another stranger, but-- that gives her all the more reason to say,] Thank you. I-- appreciate it, really, but the best thing that you can to help is... to get away from here.
no subject
You sure? Nothing that will help? You aren't going to get hurt right?
no subject
Yes. I'm sure. [Unless he's got some collar-countering trick up his sleeve, which seems unlikely. That second part, though-- that makes her hesitate. Theoretically, she might be susceptible to her own powers, but... she's been fine so far.] I-- don't think so. You're more likely to get hurt than I am.
no subject
Well...you'll tell everyone you're okay once this stuff is over with right? I mean, I'm sure you got some friends who'd love to know that you aren't suddenly dead or anything. [Right. Your friends care. Not him. Nope.]
no subject
[She blinks at him, looking confused. Mostly, she's tried to stay as far away from them as possible, considering their susceptability to her powers.]
Most of them don't even know I--
[
... Wait. Wait, hold on, is that an alterior motive?]....
no subject
[In all honestly, he has no idea who her friends are. He just assumes someone like her would have some here.
Although he has yet to realize how kind of fishy that sounds.]
no subject
....
But... if you think it's a good idea...!
no subject
The latter kind of sucks for obvious reasons though.
no subject
Well... I suppose I should check in every now and then. Thank you.
no subject
Just be careful.
no subject
... You, too, okay?
no subject

[... She probably shouldn't agree to it. Making friends might be something she's always wanted the chance to do, but she also knows, especially now, when her powers are behaving so horribly, that she's much more likely to bring people suffering than anything good.]
[....]
[But it would be horrible of her, wouldn't it, to say no when he's been so kind?]
... Okay. I'd-- I'd like that.
no subject
That's something he guesses.]
Yeah, no. It's cool. I mean, this tower is big, but I'm pretty sure I'll see you around.
Next time I'll be 'sup. looks like you dealt with that collar bullshit like a boss.' or something. Or whatever.
no subject
... I'm sure.
[She's not entirely certain what being like a boss has to do with anything, but she manages a quiet little smile.] Then I'll be waiting to hear it. [
So don't disappoint her, okay?]no subject
[Or you can tell him hero stories because he's not really a hero. So he has none...]

So we can swap awesome blonde people stories. I don't know. [He tries to give her a bit of a reassuring smile.]
no subject
Okay. Awesome blonde people stories it is.
