Setting: The entire tower, any of a few floors.
Format: Any
Summary: Naminé's powers are out of control. This is a dangerous thing for everyone in the tower.
Warnings: Minds being crushed, memory manipulation, illusions, possibly violence and psychological trauma. Also, one rather upset young lady.


[Something bizzare is afoot.

Throughout the week, several anomalies will be occurring in the tower. One of the most noticable of these is the spontaneous opening and closing of strange, dark portals which some might recognize as Corridors of Darkness, which, when passed through, can send the traveler anywhere in the parts of the tower that are accessible by its captive occupants. Another of the more obvious goings on is the new rather concerning tendency for places, things, and even people to suddenly look like something else, even something markedly different. This change is an illusion and not permanent, but it's a very convincing illusion indeed. Also rather disorienting is the sensation that something is calling one from somewhere or another; whether or not anything is actually waiting for them should they choose to investigate varies. The more observant or magically and/or psychically inclined might discover that it feels as though someone or something is creeping through their mind/heart from time to time.

Less noticable but considerably more dangerous are the changes in one's memories that could happen at any time. Memories might be rearranged, replaced, or removed entirely. New memories, memories of things that never happened, or even copies of someone else's memories might also make an appearance. Worse still is the possibility of one's (metaphysical) heart collapsing in on itself, leaving them little more than a vegetable.

The source of all of this mess is a young lady who will be spending as much of her time this week as possible hiding away, trying her hardest to keep her malfunctioning powers in check. She's not having much luck, and those who run across her might find a rather distressed Naminé tucked away somewhere like the library or the maze.]

Oh [He thought about that for a moment.] What do we have to do miss? [Because if they had been brought here and couldn't go back, surely they had work to do.]

[... Have to do. Funny, what that reminds her of.]

Nothing. At least-- most of the time.

Nothing? So we don't have to work for them?

Not exactly.

[He blinked confused, but he had to keep his spirits up and this woman hadn't done anything to hurt him so it seemed there was at least one kind person here.]

I don't understand miss.

Most of the time... they don't really make us do things, but-- sometimes they do things to us. [Some of which involves being forced to do things, but rarely.]

[myblueskies]

Do things to us? [Romeo was getting scared now but he concentrated on trying to keep his spirits up. If Alfredo was here he would be brave, maybe he was here. Though here seemed a little scary and maybe Alfredo was best still being in Milano even if Citron was very cruel.]

[lethechained]

Yes. Experiments, and-- other frightening things. [Except she knows this can't be an easy thing to hear, so she adds an,] It doesn't happen very often. A lot of the time, they don't do anything to us.

Experiments? [That didn't sound good. He shuffled his feet again.]

Yes. And-- other things. But... but it could be worse. I'm sorry. I know this isn't easy.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo nodded slowly] It's okay miss... I just don't know why I can't remember coming here, are you sure the police didn't bring me?

[lethechained]

Yes, I'm sure. There are... some things going on right now. That's why you've forgotten. You've actually been here for some time.

[myblueskies]

Oh [He nods again, still confused but accepting what she said as truth.] Is Alfredo here?

[lethechained]

... Alfredo? [--?] I... haven't met anyone by that name here.

[myblueskies]

He's my best friend, but... [Something told him he wasn't here, and couldn't be here but he had no idea why and he frowned again trying to think and remember.] I hope he is safe.

[lethechained]

Oh. I'm sorry. [Not that the tower is necessarily the best place to be, either way, but,] I hope so, too.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo sat down against the wall.] Is it always this dark miss?

[lethechained]

[She watches him, but doesn't move, herself.]

... No. Not always. [In any sense of the word.]

[myblueskies]

I'm glad, because it's a bit scary miss. But I guess as long as we can keep our spirits up it will be okay.

[lethechained]

I--... guess that would help.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo smiled glad that he had met such a kind person, even if he was somewhere really scary.] Thank you miss.
