[What is there even to do in the cafeteria... Terezi is eating. And wondering where the hell her matesprit and moirail have been. It's hard having your quadrants filled by losers, man.]

[Karkat indeed has finally stopped being a huge wriggler and ventured out of his room to find Terezi. He didn't trust anything until his collar had gone completely back to its gross green shade. Of course, being that closed in...well, he was a little more than starved for attention.

So naturally, when he spots the teal hued troll, he has to stop himself from running over and picking her up out of the chair himself. Instead, he walks over as casually as he can.]

Hey.

[scalemate]

[HEY JUST THE TROLL SHE WAS THINKING OF. And yeah he's a douche for not talking to her sooner but she can yell at him in a second.]

Hi! I was starting to think one of your roommates finally got annoyed enough to kill you.

[caliginous]

[He doesn't seem to pick up on that. He simply shakes his head and takes a seat beside her without asking.]

Just wanted to make sure everything was over with, y'know?

[scalemate]

[She grins, leaning over to hug him tightly.]

Sure. That was it.

[caliginous]

It was.

[When she hugs him, he practically falls into her embrace over-dramatically, throwing his arms around her and burying his face in her shoulder.]

[Annnd she laughs at him.]

You are such a baby.

[She missed him too, though, so she nuzzles into his hair.]

Have you just been hiding in your room this whole time?

[caliginous]

Did you want me walking people off cliffs at random? Or maybe turning vascular pumps inside out? Because that's still a thing I can do.

[He sounds a little defensive, but a lot of it is mumbled.]

[scalemate]

[She makes a face, wiggling away slightly.]

Jegus! I never said you did anything wrong.

[GOD HE IS SO TOUCHY.]

[NO NO NO. He immediately panics and clings harder.]

Hey hey, no. Stop. Cease.

[When she wiggles, he just goes deadweight and hangs on.]

[IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING...

She kind of wants to see how far he'll take this, so she tries to pull away in earnest now.]

[caliginous]

[His eyes widen in horror and he continues to cling like a perigee old wriggler.]

What--hey, come on. Dude. Stop. Seriously. Super uncool. STOP!

[He has to stand to follow her now, so he does...but promptly goes deadweight, even if it means clinging to her waist to stop her.]

[scalemate]

[She nearly loses her balance and falls right over, but she's too cool for that. She is laughing at him again, though.]

Karkat! Did you really miss me that much?

[caliginous]

[Karkat doesn't say anything to that. He just drops to his knees and leans against her legs shamefully, still clinging. He'll just stare at the floor for a few seconds before finally chancing a little pouting glance upward.]

Hey. Not a word out of you.

[scalemate]

[She grins, tugging on a lock of his hair.]

Jeeeez, at least get up.

[caliginous]

[He whines in protest, but eventually is pulled to his feet, promptly sitting down in the chair and attempting to pull her into his lap. Shame? What's that?]

[scalemate]

[Yeah whatever she doesn't care, either. She sits down, sneaking a kiss.]

It's okay. I missed you, too.

[caliginous]

[That shuts him up pretty quickly and his grip melts, the tension in his muscles slowly unwinding. He doesn't pull away sooner than he has to, but when he does, he won't let he move very far back.]

You don't have any idea.

[scalemate]

[She snuggles against him. THERE HAPPY?]

Really? Maybe you should tell me!

[caliginous]

Not here.

[No way is he risking airing out just how pathetic he is for everyone else to hear. Besides, he really doesn't want to move. Terezi is warm, he has attention and affection, he's really not interested in disturbing any of that.]

[scalemate]

I am going to make you tell me later, you know!

[He's not getting out of this that easily. She's pretty content to just stay here for a while too, though. But man, is he a huge sap.]

[caliginous]

[He knows. Karkat doesn't seem to be listening. He's too busy tring to figure out how to indulge in affection without completely embarrassing himself or Terezi.

In the end, he simply settles for resting his chin on her shoulder.]

They didn't fuck with you, did they?

[scalemate]

Nope. I got lucky this time.

[She reaches up to toy with the hair at the back of his neck. Of course, he'll probably get mad, but whatever.]

What happened exactly?

[caliginous]

I don't know, honestly. [There's a long pause.] I...I got dragged into for some emergency shit. No real warning or anything, they just kind of dragged me.

When I came to, I was in the head of one of those fucking forest demons. Only reason I figured it out at all. [He shifts uncomfortably and hides his face in her shoulder, not complaining about her attention.]

I couldn't release it. I was stuck walking around as some flesh eating demon until whatever they did wore off.

Awww, you poor thing.

[She's mostly serious, but there is a slight teasing edge to her voice. And yeah, he's being needy and lame, but she missed him, so she'll play into it. She kisses the top of his head.]

How long did it last?

[caliginous]

I didn't really have any sense of time. It just made me really hungry.

[And it scared him out of his mind, but he won't mention that. When she presses the kiss, he mumbles some sort of approval.]

...anyway, it seems to be gone now.

[scalemate]

Good.

[She figures he was probably pretty freaked. It'd be impossible not to be.]

Wanna go do something?

[Honestly she is pretty content to snuggle up to him all gross like this, but the cafeteria isn't the best place to do it.]

[She gets up, reaching for his hand immediately.]
